I had a pair of chuck 2 climate shield fail exactly the same. After 6 weeks the sole began separating. Nike needs to fix this process. Best shoes I've ever worn, but they need to last longer than 2 months.
Maciej Florczyk Nike has ruined converse, if they cared about the quality of chucks they would offer the same damage replacement the offer for all their other shoes.
they know about it. they dont care. i made a video about the same thing 6 months ago. i would say it is intentional to get you buying more shoes. sad because they allways look the best when they are old and worn.
i used to recommend ct2s to all my clients but have since stopped. i agree. it’s intentional. it makes me sick because the shoe in its new form is my absolute all time favourite. i buy vans pros now. if you didn’t know…
i loved my chuck ii’s more than any other sneaker ever! so comfortable! so good lookin!!! black lowtops, and i wore the crap out of them!!! the sides wore out before the soles. i was so disappointed thank you for covering the twos!!! i really hope nike improves the manufacturing process and comes out with the 2.1’s 😊
The same happened to me, 2 months, a star player black leather ox. I have a chuck taylor from 2011 and it's better than the new one. What's going on with their quality?
My first pair of chuck Taylor's I bought were 2/13/17. The inside material started separating on 8/15/17. 10/15/17 I noticed the side of my left shoe near where the textured rubber started separating so now when it rains my foot gets soaked. My right shoe just last week the bottom separated due to glue wearing out I am impressed these have lasted so long I walk miles each day in these and for $45 on clearance very nice the soles are worn down waoting for my budget to allow me to get a similar pair they held up nice but I would never spend more than $45 on this shoe
Mine fell separated at the sole after 6 months of light wear, I just superglued it back together. It’s sad how quality has gone down after mike purchased them.
I actually got mine replaced at the store I bought them from after I showed them that I only had them for a month but the manager seemed kind of angry and even said that you cant get them wet?! (I live in England so this makes no sense). On a side note I bought the same ones in 2012 and they lasted a solid year - bearing in mind I used them for the gym, for work, lots of walking / running and even martial arts classes three times a week! (Which I think is pretty amazing). Every pair I've had since then have lasted about 4 months and I don't use them for all of the above that I used to...
i agree with you, converse chuck taylor 2 are less durable than the converse classics.. i had my for 2 years, i wore it everyday, then it already gave up, i have the same problem that u have in my converse chucktaylor 2.. but even though, 2 years is enough for me i think, the thing that i most like with chucks 2 is that, it's very comfortable to wear because of the lunarlon
I have the exact same on all my converse... I love the look but have now stopped buying them as they break sometimes after 3 months, not gonna keep piling money in them.
I just got a new pair of Converse a few months ago, and the sole on the right shoe has nearly fallen off by this point. I'm not a very active guy, the most I really do that requires shoes is drive. I have heard of ways to repair them, which I will try so not to wear out my new pair so quickly. Something called Shoe Gl(ue/oo) or Shoe Goo.
How do the new compare to the old? You bought a second pair of the new ones so I can only assume it's what you prefer, given they last a bit longer than your first.
Originals much more durable, take forever to break in. New not durable at all, almost no break in time. My second pair have held up so far, but time will tell. Also Converse ignores inquiries about problems with the new shoes.
I got a pair for my freshman year of college so I had a nice reliable pair of shoes ( my previous pair of converse lasted me all 4 years o high school marching band and all) and had my new pair that I wore almost continuously and they only lasted me 2 1/2 months before the whole siding had peeled and they are barely wearable anymore. Nike has ruined converse, they don’t even have the damage return time period like other Nike products.
im on my second pair in a year after getting a free replacement and they've started to go. in touch with converse at the moment to see if i can get an exchange
I spent 100 on the "all weather" Converse at Christmas, ordered them through the Nike app, took 3 weeks to arrive, then soles on both are separating..I've had them for 5 months.
How to fix it ? I got them about the same timeframe but rarely wear due to asian heat mostly wearing flip flop And yet still having this issue on the toes side
I also have the same problem with my black and white chuck taylor. Very disappointing. It's not over used also. Haven't even wash or dry clean the shoes since Im not using it often. Only to found out that its not durable. Haven't problem with my other chuck taylor pairs. Only with the black and white which is made in indonesia. 😭 bought the shoes 3mos ago😭
Converse are glued! Not Stitched and glued. If you get them wet they will come open. Rain is acidic it will break down the bonding of the glue. Even if you are walking across the lawn, it will eat away the glue. You have to protect the glue line with cleaner and spray protector. This is done weekly if you wear you shoes 2-3 time each week or after 2-3 wears. you have to maintain all foot wear same as the clothes you wear.
I can't relate to this video. I've had several of the original and 2 pair of the new Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II. They're totally fine and durable lasting me over a year on my feet most of the day. I find that the new are better than the old.
Can anyone recommend a converse look a like that are much more durable cause I've had a lot of of them and usually fall apart after 6 weeks which is pretty crap and I'm always getting crap from my dad bout not looking after them when in reality since Nike bought converse there so much more cheaper and craply made that they fall apart after a short amount of time
Same problem here with the black pair (chuck2). After 10 months. And I only wear them half to a quarter of the time (two other shoes I wear a lot). Massive front sole separating. I'm going to contact converse and see what options are available. Anyone know of a shoe repair for these? Shoegoo?
Mine are just now broken in and comfy (they get better as they mold to your personal foot shape) and mine look nice and dirty now like how I prefer them to look vs the stark white brand new rubber and laces and now I’m paranoid they’re gonna fall apart. Thankfully I have some shoo goo so if they do I will be pulling a Kurt Cobain and duct taping mine lol (kidding I’ll obviously be using the shoo goo)
Yeah. All star converse are rip off, they are not cheap anymore and quality is crap. I went through 4 pairs off All Star 70’s. In like a year or so.They’re more expensive and suppose to be stronger. Well, they are not, I think they’re even worse than the regular ones. A pair would last me for a couple of months or so, before that 2th layer off the side rubber wall would come unglued, and then you pull on it, and the whole think comes of. This are shoes that I ware only in the evening when I come home from work and weekends has I ware something else at work. I also had kinda the same problem that you have, not has bad, but on the bottom of the shoe, all around the edges, the sides starts to come unglued.
My fiance and I bought all black all star 2 hi-tops and my soles are coming off in the fronts after 3 months of continuous wear. So now my shoes looks like their talking. Kinda pissed, about to buy some glue in a few minutes.
converse all star it´s not a quality sneaker ,i recommend Gola coaster(i have 1 pair, better and basically the same price & Dunlop Canvas Low Top Trainers,i will not buy all star any more, bad quality and expensive.
Looks like you don't take care of your shoes well. I mean if you wear them every single day and you skate get them dirty a lot they will eventually break apart far more quickly then usual.
starwarsfan2614 unlimited power! The point is the quality change I bought a new pair of converse this year that lasted me 2 months of walking on the paved ground of my college campus when my last pair lasted me 4 years of hiking, marching band, and lots of other harsh on your shoes activities and the only signs you see from those 4 years are the typical old converse wear like little cracks where your toes bend, the canvas fraying in little spots of the opening, and the metal eyelets on the side getting bent/falling out. Nike also offers damage return on their other shoes that they don’t offer with converse.
I had a pair of chuck 2 climate shield fail exactly the same. After 6 weeks the sole began separating. Nike needs to fix this process. Best shoes I've ever worn, but they need to last longer than 2 months.
My black pair has so far faired much better.
So any updates? How the black pair held up so far?
I have the same problem, so won't buy chuck's anymore... too expensive for the few months quality.
Maciej Florczyk Nike has ruined converse, if they cared about the quality of chucks they would offer the same damage replacement the offer for all their other shoes.
How to fix them
Why i always loved the chuck taylor originals.

I have the exact same pair and they are both separating at the front and one at the back :( I'm thinking about gluing them
See your local cobbler shop

Daniel Tomlinson why the fuck do you keep buying them?
i agree with you, converse chuck taylor 2 are less durable than the converse classics.. i had my for 2 years, i wore it everyday, then it already gave up, i have the same problem that u have in my converse chucktaylor 2.. but even though, 2 years is enough for me i think, the thing that i most like with chucks 2 is that, it's very comfortable to wear because of the lunarlon

Dude how's your black ct II ? is it holding up alright?
I spent 100 on the "all weather" Converse at Christmas, ordered them through the Nike app, took 3 weeks to arrive, then soles on both are separating..I've had them for 5 months.
that is really unfortunate
cmon nike
I think your dogs stole some of the thunder of your vlog. I kept watching their interactions.
My dogs are often stealing my thunder, but they give me lots of love in return.
How much did the black on black Chuck's cost?
Ive had mine four months and they are failing in this exact same way
I wear Chuck Taylor because they feel like I'm not wearing shoes at all which is great till the bottom falls out and you really aren't wearing shoes
How to fix it ? I got them about the same timeframe but rarely wear due to asian heat mostly wearing flip flop

Anthony Green and how much a bottle lasts?
Had same problem with my last three pairs after a few months wear. Nike clearly don't care. Won't be buying Chucks again. It's a shame.

Steadfasting Have you tried the Chucks 70s and Chucks Modern yet?

Can't you just take out the insert and put them in the chuck 1?
I just recently started going back "ole' school" w/ Converse & Pro Keds; & I Just hope I don't have the same problem! 👟
Ferdinand Vazquez did you?
My CONVERSE Black Original 2 months the back is coming apart
6 weeks in and my converse are barely holding on ripped ,cracked, worn soles.

You should call Nike their customer service is pretty good and they'll either replace or refund your money.
Tried contacting them, they didn't care.
do you skate them looks like you skate em

Bad thing, nike owns converse
Good thing, nike gives good insoles
Nothing a little shoe-glue can't fix
they are too expensive for what they offer in terms of material, construction and quality control
preach
These sneakers are crap.
yes and no, the design is incredible, the execution, not so much
Just buy the classic ones.
A Triggered Parrot From Texas there uncomfortable as shit

Buy vans off the wall.they are much better shoes in my opinion!😸
They are just as bad as chucks
100%, vans pros are my new go to, i recommend vans to all my clients, wish i could say the same about chuck twos
planned obsolescence
yup
Shitee Azz Chuck Ts. Old School USA Were Better!!!! Thankz P!!!
true
Mine separate at the toes which lets in dirt.
mine too.. i've been using chucks for ages. and the last two pairs i have had the same thing - separating at the toes! is this intentional?
Same here
Yeah. You're wearing them in wrong conditions or something. I've had my converse for years and they're fine
Idk dude. Every converse shoe I've had have had the same problem
