Love it! Originally from the USSR, I've done it with Kwan Lee and now with another practitioner in Arizona. Systema is real, but not because we say so - because it gets built into your muscle memory. It becomes a state of being which is, to a great degree, automatic. Not Kata which you have to memorize (although I have nothing against Karate), the Systema moves become a reflection of the way you move and breathe.
This guy is good. I love the sound effects. And the idea of waiting and taking them at the moment of proud makes total sense and is easy to remember. Just got to be able to do it.
@matkasim in this video, the emphasis is on the timing, and being able to wait for that late moment, the "proud" moment. but your always breathing and relaxing in systema, like aikido or any good internal art... sweet demo, and AM is so calm and cheerful, it's great!
to get an idea of the stink thats manny's punches have, bill(camo shirt guy getting hit at 3:40) coached an awesome systema class immediately after getting in a motorcycle wreck and being picked up at the accident by a student and taken to class. getting hit by manny isn't like getting in a car wreck, it's like getting in a car wreck you don't see coming. that livershot at 3:40 is outside of bills cone of vision. just when he thinks hes got that head control or whatever hes after he gets nailed.
See the guy in blue (the instructor) ? Well, he is just amazing ... And everyone who don't belive in systema, well, try to punch him, and you will se if the anwser you get is fake >< (trust my experience with Emmanuel)
@iamrathercool12121 Me neighter. I'll go for Krav Maga. Instead of this balancing thing and this timeing and wobbly stuff, I'll just block, counter and pop a combination of blows to the head, throat and nuts. But Systema looks very intriguing. I might try it later.
Hello Manny! In my new instruction material, my aim is to spread the teachings of the Buddha on skillfulness, concentration and insight through martial arts. Please have a look and tell me what you think! Dharma blessings, Ron
