@denniscurnayn I took many camera shots of my Taylor's neck around the sound hole today. None of them seem to capture any space? I looked very closely and in very good lighting. I still could not see any real space. I even tried using a magnifying glass. It may possibly have just 1/64th or less space at the very end of the neck on the low E side. I don't think it's a defect. I then looked up and down the neck. The neck appears straight. Then I ran my index and thumb down both edges of the fretboard. I can feel the frets against them. More so on the high E side. That's what caused the swelling on my index finger by rubbing up against those frets with bar chords. If I ran a nylon stocking down the high E side, it would rip it to shreds. The frets should be smooth and they're not. There's also a touch of clear glue on the fretboard at the nut. I don't think this guitar was properly inspected from the factory or before being sent to me.
I had also changed the Taylor's 12's to 10's and that was a nightmare. Buzzing everywhere, even after a truss rod adjustment. I had to put the 12's back on.
My Orangewood came setup perfectly with 12's and played perfectly. I eventually changed those from 12's to 10's without needing any adjustments to the guitar. It still sounded great. The 12's had a brighter sound but 10's were easier to play since I like to bend notes a lot. Orangewood is like having the best of both worlds. They're like having an electric guitar with low action and an acoustic that plays as easy as an electric and sounds great.

@@denniscurnayn I sent them an email last night. I'll follow up tomorrow. This guitar just won't take 10's without major work needed, if it can be done at all. I've put tens on all my acoustics and never had any real trouble. Maybe a slight adjustment on a few but I can't seem to put 10's on the Taylor at all.
