Hello MR Comfortable Car Club, don’t waste your time and energy with an angry french guy. Thanks for all the videos you put online. I own the 2.0 l hdi 140cv with hydropneumatic and 347000 km. It’s a fantastique car and very reliable (oil and filters change every 15000km). After 5 years of use, i know it pretty well so if you have some issue, let me know. Thierry from France
I replaced the front hinge on drivers side this evening. I must say it wasn't the best experience :) my hinge arrived in closed position so you can imagine the strugle to "open" it. I ordered it from ali and it came with peugeot and citroen sticker. I dont know if you can count that as original but it works just fine.
Thank you for your effort in sharing experience, and no worries, it is not all frenches that are grumpy. But certainly many C5 owners are French, so statistically more chance to have one in your audience isn't it? 🙂. Now I feel more confident to change the hinges of the passenger front door and the one of the back seat left too. Indeed, I was very surprised by the fact that booth of them got broken (usually it doesn't happen on this type of parts), but apparently it is quite common on this model. The most difficult is to find some if it is not from PSA resaler (not more on ebay). Rgds
I have removed and replaced the driver's door on this model, and the rear driver side door I have removed and replaced twice, AND the rear hinges, and even though I haven't replaced any of the front hinges, I have to say guys: It will save you a lot of time and frustration if you remove the door alltogether. At least that's true for the front one, since the rear one can be changed with the door closed, as our friend Mr. Comfortable Car Club showed us. Yes, the door is heavy, but it's way better to lift a heavy weight, than to deal with all the swearing and sweat. Maybe that's why they sell the upper hinges in the open position. So that it'll be easier to place the removed door.
I wonder if they're placed and tightened in the factory BEFORE the front wing is on, allowing access the same as the rear door hinges have. Just a thought.
Hello, guys You can also try to use hinge from rear doors of Peugeot 207 it's almost the same Only a guide can be a little thicker, but it can be removed or replace by original one
Maybe one idea if you can get new bolts is to use socket bolts instead of hexagonal. I think it may be easier to loose them or fasten them :) I did this procedure few months ago and I was about to loose my nerves :) Also I used some grease where the the two covers of the hinge meet to prevent moisture inside
Great video and extremely funny on top of it. I want to change the door after i hit something and damaged the paint. Maybe i will collect the hinge from the old one and put it on the new (2nd hand), then install. Hope i will succeed. I just wonder if the electrical plug is easy to unplug/ plug black. Thank you for your video as it give me Hope i Can Do it myself. And please don t be so hard on French, we are good people...
Thank you for the effort an detailed explanations. I am afraid, I have to replace both hinges of my wife's car. It appears to be a true act of sacrifice. Well, for love, I may say :)

You mean, only from rear doors of Peugeot 207 Hatchback or including SW version?
@@Mefju7312 not sure about sw, but rear hinges from 207 hatch with little changes are good for C5
