this is my favorite movie..I miss the old VHS copy we used to watch in high school..it had all the Spanish subtitled..had us talking like vatos as 15 year old white boys in Canada for like a week after each time..

Cruz acting was absolutely phenomenal! One of a kind performance.. all the critical moment's were loved through him and most emotional as well. I was recently in Mexico and they had the same type of mural painted on a brick wall completely untouched.. mainly all the primary characters but so much graffiti everywhere this section of art was unscathed.

Great script, great directing, this movie is an instant classic. No wonder why it has such a cult following after so many years. Major reason movie was not release in theaters was due to the LA riots during that time, went straight to VHS. Really good portrayal of Chicano culture in Los Angeles during that time.

I Met Damian Chappa yesterday(AKA Miklo). Most people may think this is a gangster movie and Pro Mexican movie, but they miss the point. we should all unite and create unity!
