Can i say. I like how This is done. If you play through This blind. Theres a big chance you get This ending because you can only get the good ending by getting defeated in battle. And that sort of devies Basic rpg logic. Where you get the good ending if you defeat the final Boss. And that makes your realize that you as the player are controlling the final Boss. And not the Hero. I think This was very cleverly done.

I don't know why but this ending reminds me of Romeo and Juliet. Since Emil thought he killed Marta, so he killed himself.

I can't be the only one who got this ending first then wondered WTF happened right...?
Wow, this is actually depressing but then low-key funny especially when Tenebrae stops Raine from saving him and when she writes that she could have a do-over. They also should have known better because even though he had the Ratatosk voice, his eyes were still green but then they say don't question video game logic.
I really don't understand why people don't like this game =( I think it's awesome!
+Cathal Taylor I enjoyed it but i liked, ToS better, but this game is definitely worth more playthroughs. It's better than Tales of Zestiria at least.
Thank you both! It was not as great as the OG, but I don't see why everyone hates it so much. And I think the story is infinitely better than Zestiria. The only pet peeve is that it's not a separate game. If it wasn't a sequel, than it would be perfect.
It was quite good indeed. I think Zestiria is the worst Tales Of by a far margin.

So in this ending, Emil sort of dies and Marta gets her heart broken... but all the world's life keeps its mana. That's not so bad I guess?

Thank you for playing this through, i needed a whole year to watch this series. I did start it in 2016 januar and took a pause when i saw ToS are out for Pc, i wanted to wait a little maybe this game will come out as well, but oh well.
It is indeed a masterpiece in my opinion, it's so rare to see stories now about friendship and long journeys.
I have to say Thank you so much fr this Walkthrough, for all the 50 episodes. Let us hope Tales series will be allways there for us.

Yep, watching this before bedtime definitely was a poor choise. But then I didn't expect this level of raw from this game's fairly shallow writing.
If you look at it, it's kind of Marta's fault for losing Emil. Like she pretended to also die or whatever...This is some Romeo and Juliet type of stuff. So nice going Marta.

+Noela Joson I doubt she pretended, i think she just passed out for a quick second, but it was kinda anti-climatic the way she just woke up at the worse possible time.
@@talesoffan4718 She didn't pretend. Sense you beat up Lloyd and Marta, Marta ended up passing out for a moment, even her dialogue showed ("Emil... Emil, I'm so sorry.") that she was losing conscious and was weakly apologizing to Emil for failing to save him and stop Ratatosk (don't know why Lloyd is still fine after the fight).
@@93SuperSonic Lloyd is a tank remember? Probably more energetic and resilient through experience

Also, I think it might have made sense if you played as Marta and Lloyd in this fight instead of Emil. Win for the good ending and lose for the bad ending.

Fuck, that's a sad ending. That's worse then what happens in Yggdra Union. (Not really, that game is still pretty sad.
+Rusty Shackleford It's not nearly as bad as Tales of Xillia 2's bad ending.
I love both endings. This one is far more depressing, but I feel like it could have been much worse.
Bryce Lair I love them both too but I feel like they really could have gone out there with this ending too.
Oh I just finished the game and got the true ending. Glad I didn't act stupid or I would've had the icky feeling I'm having now about the bad ending

I got this on a blind playthrough and had to find the true ending online years later to get some of the icky depressed feeling this practically oozes off.
And now my pillow is wet with tears, great! :'(
All you had to do was kill lloyd first then marta.
Okay. Okay okay okay. I TOTALLY forgot this game still had a bad ending and just saw it for the first time. And even though I have to admit that I'm not that fond of Emil or Marta, I feel so BAD now. Wow. I hate bad endings *hides in a corner*

Hm. Sometimes there are worthless Bad endings,but Sometimes it's really cool if they let you decide which way you wanna go
MarioSonic46 To make the game more diverse, I think. That way that it feels more life-like--in the real world, there are consequences for your actions that may or may not influence the end of your story, so some video game creators try to mimic that appeal. I think they're relatively refreshing.
Meanwhile, in games such as this one, it's always relatively easy to go back and try again. It even recommends you do it, with Marta saying "if I could go back in time..." Of course, if you save over your game file with new game plus, you'll have to do it over again, but still :)

I wasn’t emotionally invested. I was pissed off the fact that I had to redo the fight with Richter and do this properly. And this is why I hate this game over TOS1. Sorry, I have no enjoyment in this.
Now that a year has passed, what do you think about this? I think this story was greatly written out. maybe your thought process is different now than a year ago (I don't mean nothing negative about what I said)
On the whole, this game was barely okay, but just not as good as other _Tales_ titles. The original was *certainly* better.
Man was this game bad from begining to end. I got the best ending but there was no way I was torturing myself even more just to see the others. Thanks for uploading.

I don't know what to think about this game. It had some good parts,but also some really that were really Bad. For example i can't stand Emil. Hi whiny voice and additude throughout they whole game is so annoying.
Just finished playing it. Both of the main characters, most of the new characters, and Lloyd annoyed me at times. I hate the fact that the overhead map became an "on the rails" travel (Cared less about acquiring the Rehairds...cause it really didn't matter too much).
Aside from that, i did enjoy the game and I don't regret getting it (for cheap).
