I have been using the light reflecting formula lately and I love it! I feel like the formula only is glowy when first applied then dries down fairly matte.

I love Nars! I absolutely love that you’re doing this!! Sheer glow is probably my all time favorite foundation ever! The radiant one is just okay for me.. I’m still trying to get my use out of it and try to like it more and not have my money wasted haha.

Thank you for this video! I tried for years to find a Nars foundation that I like. I finally found one - the Light Reflecting. My biggest issue is shades run so yellow on me. I have found that if I mix in a little Mont Blanc in with Vienna I can tone down the yellow. Then I like it a lot. I was determined to get this to work. This is one of the few foundations that doesn't suck the life out of my skin and turn me into the crypt keeper at the end of the day. All of these look so pretty on you.

I’ve just taken delivery of the new Nars foundation and applied it with a brush. I’m 67, so mature/vintage skin and was pleased with the result. I’d agree that I don’t feel it on my skin which is a bonus. However, after seeing your demo’s, I’ll try it tomorrow with my sausage fingers 🙄😂. Thanks for the video and the tips.

Excellent review. Thank you So Much. I was debating between Light Reflecting and Sheer Glow. I don’t use much foundation but I’ve been very happy with NARS Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc. No need to change which is exactly what I needed to decide. You are very beautiful. I just cannot thank you enough. I am 66 , and haven’t noticed any settling into fine lines. Thankfully I’m not very wrinkled , so that helps.

Love this review comparing NARS foundations. It was great to see them head to head. I agree they all run yellow. Would have liked your thoughts on the tinted moisturizer. It seems the least yellow. It’s my go to on good skin days.

Great review 👍 I’ve been wearing the Nars radiant creamy concealer for years but I have never bought their foundation. I generally prefer stick foundations. I have oily combo skin and your review really helped me decipher the differences between the 4 foundations they carry. I was thinking that soft matte would be the only foundation that could work for me since I get really oily on my cheeks, forehead, and chin, but now I’m open to also trying sheer & radiant glow.

I started off with the Sheer Glow but have too deep a shade 😞 Then moved on to Light Reflecting (got the perfect shade, despite oxidation claims). I now fancy trying the Soft Matte, if for no other reason than to slightly dull down the radiance from the LR. Thanks again, Nicci

This is the best review/comparison I have ever seen! I love Nars foundations and I was just about to purchase the light reflecting foundation and this video has changed my mind. I have combination (normal with oily t-zone) skin so I usually get the radiant long wear foundation as it sets well with powder. I have tried the soft matte it weirdly looked cakey on my skin but judging from this review it’s because I used too much product and blended with a sponge. I might try the sheer glow foundation after watching this video but still not sure as I don’t like the glowwy look that much! Definitely going to give the soft matte another try and use the finger dabbing technique you advised. Thanks for the tips, such a great video 😊

Thank you so much for your review. I'm combination skin type, and I do get oily around the T-zone so I wanted to see what foundation works the best. I'll try to get the soft matte. you mentioned you can build in with other mixers, and I love that idea. I'm gonna try that out. I'm almost in my 30s so I'm trying to go for more natural finish without looking too cakey, if that makes sense.

Thank you for this video. I got the "Light Reflecting" version as a 1st time Nars foundation user. I've got semi-dry mature skin and this LR foundation applies like melted butter, super light, then oxidizes 1 shade in a few minutes. I don't see any light reflection, just light coverage w/ nice moisture.

The natural radiant rubs off with a primer. Any face touchers be ware! It rubs off even with primer & setting
I don't wear primer so I can't speak with that, but I haven't had any issues with it transferring. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

For me too. I found it to rub off regardless of what was worn under it. It also just didn’t sit well at all. I love the sheer glow and the light reflecting. They both wear 100% better on me. Haven’t tried the matte. My skin is dry combo.

I just randomly came across this comment . And i know it’s so so late but the nars light reflecting oxidizes the most and runs the most yellow out of all the range. I’m Punjab all across for nars but for light reflecting I wear Fiji and for the skin tint ( which is great btw) I wear Mykanos.
I loved that you applied all of these with your hands as somewhere I missed that application suggestion. I have used NARS a long time and used different ones and never been disappointed with the way they looked or their wear. I do like seeing these all compared as it gives a better idea of how they apply and wear. Thanks 😊

I only ever tried the light reflecting and the longwear foundations by Nars and I love them both for their different finishes on my mature combo oily skin. The light reflecting I have to set with powder and it lasts pretty well and doesn’t get too oily if set well. Both don’t settle in my lines, but I don’t use a lot of product either.

The soft matte looks the most smoothing in my opinion, I’m a glowy foundation type of girl but I’m considering soft matte because I feel it kinda gives a glam look

This was so helpful. With your advice, I mixed the Soft Matte in Deauville and MAC Face and Body in C2 and it provided a natural medium coverage semi-matte finish, which I liked. I'm gonna keep playing with it as a mixing medium.
I also want to add that I can use Santa Fe and Patagonia in Sheer Glow, but when it comes to every other foundation in the lineup, Santa Fe and Patagonia are too dark for me, and I have to use Deauville instead. Deauville in Sheer Glow is too light for me. I feel like the shades in Sheer Glow run lighter with more neutral undertones. With the other foundations in the lineup, they're noticeably deeper and vary a lot more in undertone.

I had that skin glow foundation but it expired, but really liked it. Now i have the Light Reflecting one, bought shade Vienna instead of Vallouris and that is much better, for the shade than. And i never wear foundation a whole day i must say. I have normal to dry skin, 51 years, but i like my previous foundation, the sheer glow more, i think. I think it's still a bit European😂less dewy/radiant. I really love the glass bottle from Cle de Peau so much, but than the matte one! But hard to find here in Europe. Also love the red tube of Koh Gen Do and most used are my Chantecaille foundations, especially that cushion!!! Loved the video, learned a lot, thank you so much, have an amazing day!!!😘😘😘😘

The best typ ever! I didn't understand why the soft matte wasn't looking so good with brush or sponge, i squeeze once and i do my entire face with my fingers and then just tap with a sponge and wears absolutely gorgeous all day long, is pore minimizing very smooth looking !

You are so sweet. I spend lots of time and $$ on skincare and do my best to eat clean and exercise a lot. And let's not forget genetics. They play a big role. As far as oxidation, I don't have a huge issue with any of them, but I would probably say the Light Reflecting would get my vote.

Mandy, I have tried the Nars light reflecting a couple of times , but can’t seem to find my correct shade. The Ulta sales girls seem to have no idea on how to shade match. The Santa Fe is too yellow and maybe a half shade too dark. Do you know their shades well enough to suggest one that my work. I normally tend to use neutral shades or warm in brands that aren’t so yellow. Thanks. You look beautiful in whatever you wear. Your skin is beautiful and that is what is important.

I personally don't find that it oxidizes.
I was using the soft matte formula for a long time, during the winter and spring. Well once I went to a wedding when it was over 90 degrees and I realized it was not holding up well! So I don’t use it anymore in the summer heat.
So strange...it's the one I trust the most to hold up well in high heat, especially for all day weddings, but I know all skin is different.
Mandy thank you! What’s your recommendation when it comes to color matching to choose the right shade? If my face and neck have different tones… my face is paler than the neck. Should I choose the color to match my pale face and then build dimension with bronzer, blush, etc? Thank you!!
I always like to match my clients on their chest....the neck is always lighter since our chin tends to save us a bit from the sun there, and if you exfoliate, cleanse your face often, your face will be even lighter sometimes. So, to ensure the foundation matches the rest of the body, I blend it into the upper chest, and whatever disappears is a great match. Then, I make sure I bring the foundation down the neck and everything is one shade!

I'm so glad your channel popped up! This was a great video! I was testing Nars light reflecting foundation and it looks terrible on my skin after 2 hours. My skin is combo/oily. So I was researching the difference between the other Nars foundation and your video popped up. Lucky me!! Thank you so much for taking the time to share all of this great information. Hey Mandy. So Far I have the Sheer Glow and the Soft Matte. I like the Sheer glow but the Soft Matte is the worst foundation I've tried in a long time. I dont know the terms but it comes off so easily and cakes up really bad. I've tried different application and different primers etc. Do you think the Light Reflecting will work for me?
Hate that it didn't work for you! The light reflecting is completely on the other end of the spectrum as far as formula of the soft matte, so it may be a good choice. I don't get the best wear out of the light reflecting, but since I adore the soft matte, it seems we are opposite as well, so I think Light Reflecting is a good one to try next. :)
Out of all the matt foundations that you have tried (Cle de Peau, Nars, Lancome, Lauder), which one would be best for drier skin, in your opinion? Thank you so much :)

I love this video. I have the soft matte I live in the Caribbean and have combo skin. I always wanted to try the natural Adrian to but wondered how it will work in this temp. I think temperature is also a good factor to consider

Hi Mandy! This is an amazing review! I’ve been searching for a comprehensive review on NARS foundations so thank you for this video! I have oily skin but prefer a natural finish (slight glow). Would you recommend mixing the soft matte and natural radiant? I still wear a mask. Do you think those two are best for masks and long wear?
The natural radiant isn't one that I would recommend if you are looking for transfer proof. I would definitely go with the soft matte for that, and if you want to thin it down, you could mix in a moisturizer. Hope this helps!
Hi Mandy I am wondering how the Nars new light reflecting compares to the Lisa Eldridge? I love the LE but it’s expensive with shipping to Canada.
I prefer the wear of the LE on me. It doesn't get as glowy and it pretty bulletproof. But, with your shipping situation, it may be worth getting a sample of the NARS.

I love mixing the Soft Matte and Sheer Glow! It's like the PERFECT foundation. I do 60% Sheer Glow then 40% Soft Matte.
I got a sample of the newest light reflecting NARS foundation and it was horrible. I’m 48, have normal to dry skin, and live in a dry climate. It did not wear well at all. It got so luminous to the point of oily looking on my forehead, nose and cheeks, while it got dry, even flaking up on my chin and sides of my nose. It was so awful looking. I’ve never had a foundation do this before. I saw Jamie Paige’s review of it and the same thing happened to her. Huge areas lifting up and crackling while other areas so oily.

Absolutely get the Light reflecting! I’m wearing makeup after not wearing it much for years because this foundation has changed how I see my skin completely
Ahh! The perfect video today! I am planning on ordering a nars foundation with the vib sale, and I am confused about which one (s) to try! I have sample of the matte one and love it. I want also to try the new one. I am curious if the color names translate well between the different foundations. Thanks again for your video and for sharing your incredible knowledge. On another note - so sorry for the stress with the wind. I live in the midwest and SO understand. I am usually a wreck from spring to late fall with the storms, watches, and warnings. You are so welcome! Yes girl...I will never not get stressed out with the wind. We are planning on building a barn soon, and a storm shelter is going in it. I can't wait for that, because there is so many open spaces in our house and not many places to go. And thank you!

I've not purchased many Nars products, except for their blushes. I did purchase the tinted sunscreen last year, and wasn't impressed, so I've steered clear of their foundations. If I did decide to take a chance on one, I think the Natural Radiant would be my choice. Even with my dry, mature skin, because I like fuller coverage.
I think you will be super happy with it if you decide to give it a chance. :)
I have the sheer glow and since a few days the light reflection one. My skin is pretty dry and I don't have to powder it. Just between my eyebrows and my chin (rosacea more oily) the foundation looks weird. Like these white little dots...this may sound stupid but is that how you would describe foundation Breaking up? Maybe I can buy the matte one to blend for my chin area. BTW you looked so beautiful with your whole look! I'm really lazy lately with eyeshadows and you motivated me 😀
Thank you so much!!! It could be breaking up due to skincare underneath as well. Sometimes some products don't mix, but I think you will love the matte one for that...it's such a long lasting performer!
@@MandyDavisMUA will definitely check that one out! I played some more with it and the trick for me is to spray some Mac fix on my fingers and tap the area and it looks smoothless 😀.

Great video. I’ve been a fan of Nars for years. My favorite foundation is the sheer glow but I do love the light reflective one. Only thing I dislike is the sheer glow doesn’t come with a pump and the others come with such a small pump that it makes me feel like I use half a bottle lol.

I have radiant and like it but looking for another look I’m combo skin. I’m trying light reflecting one so far I’m undecided 🤷♀️ do want to try matte too. Like radiant’s level of coverage but think light one looks more natural

I m more interested in a foundation which is made it through to ur kit . Cuz those r more trusted and never failed foundation and works on everyone.

It's hard to do a review on a foundation without doing a demo as most people like to see what it looks like on the skin, so I don't think I will be able to do one without it. Sorry you aren't interested in that part. Have a great day.

I’ve heard that light reflecting clings to dry patches on some people and the shop assistant said that sheer glow is getting discontinued soon so I shouldn’t get it 😭 now I’m confused bc I do want coverage and he recommended light reflecting
I wish people would stop spreading it was being discontinued; especially people that work for the brand. LOL I have heard that from many people, and I reached out to NARS and they reassured me that it is here to stay. I would highly recommend that one!

I have dry skin.Nars light reflecting one i like but i finds after 2hr around my mouth it disappeared or kakey looks very weird😢

Hi there. I personally don’t use primers. Spf is the last thing on my face before foundation. 😉

If you prepped and prime well, I would say yes, but it wouldn't be my first choice for super duper dry skin. I would go with the Sheer Glow. xoxo
Which Charlotte Tillbury Powder Shade did you use? Light or Med? I use NARS Santa Fe M2 as well and want to get the same one you use!

I just ordered sheer glow and instantly loved it, and I only wore Estée Lauder DW. 😂 of course the longevity is not there but I’m ok with that. It looks great long enough 😊

I wasn't a fan of the Fenty one...I definitely think the Soft Matte is better.

I would say the Sheer Glow would be a good one to try.
If it’s meant to be warmed with fingers can we just warm some in the microwave or warm the bottle in hot water?
No...that has the potential to really ruin the formulation.
