Even though marketing is important, one needs to have the actual product to make it working. Once the product is live and people playing are really liking it, then it will gain even more popularity.
ok, actually, I spoke too hastily 😮 some clever people have figured out how to market what doesn't yet exist and it's another scrappy strategy we should know about
I think that the game's title albeit being stupid is kinda catchy and easy to remember, that also helps ( look at Grapple Dog for instance, it's a Grapple and a Dog, simple )
Yea, this is very true! A name that’s easy to find and remember is also helpful sometimes I think “ourcade” is not such a name! But Vampire Survivors is not hard to spell and not likely to be misheard when you search for it
wow it makes me happy reading indie success stories. Hope my Phaser 3 game gets noticed even a little when its done
🤗 I hope so too!
I want to see Ourcade trending like Vampire Survivors! Great Vid! I love these breakdowns of how different games became successful or not.
Thanks and glad to hear you like these types of videos! Maybe one day we'll have something trending like Vampire Survivors 👀

100% you can't market something that doesn't exist!

I really want to make the next big indie game!
🤗
Can’t wait for the Sunday email telling me this video exists.
😂😂🤣
Always be marketing

@@supertommy I really like the name ourcade because it obviously reminds me of arcade, which reminds me of good memories.
Agree.. snowball effect and people keep talking about it
Right? Like this video... 😂 it just feeds on itself
Yup. The scatterplot of all of the YT videos presented a giant wall of awareness and the price made it very tasty once you knew about it. 🤩🤩🤩👍🏾🏆🏆🏆
Visual of a scatterplot is a great metaphor!
The original game idea came from mobile game Magic Survival by LEME.
Oh wait, it's not released on PC so it doesn't matter.
It’s such a nice game
it is!
@@supertommy how do I contact you?
Twitter DM is probably easiest
500k?? Dude made at least 10 mill after steams cut.
lol, that estimate was extremely conservative although I don’t think 10M was cleared, unless the game suddenly sold a lot more since the video
@@supertommy on average sales are about 63x the number of reviews, just fyi
