He was hitting it great, just a bit rusty around the greens to be honest. He would hit a bad chip, then next 3 would be perfect. Speed control on putts was off, He said green's felt slow.
That swing is totally different than it used to be, he's done a ton of work making it fit his new body condition. I'm looking forward to seeing him back in action.
It will be a miracle if he makes the cut even with his short game and putting but if it makes him happy to play in these events he's certainly earned the right.
@@encinobalboa Are you high dude...if he was any stiffer he'd be made of wood...the only thing fun about watching Tiger now is seeing him get up and down for par 15 times a round to realize with a short game as good as his you can suck and be good.
One thing I’ve learned covering his career as a member of the sports media, is to NEVER UNDERESTIMATE his will to win. He doesn’t enter an event unless he truly believes in his mind he can win. The man has the most indomitable spirit of any athlete I’ve known or followed.
It will be exciting if he can catch a heater like he did last year on Saturday. His scrambling is where the game has seen the most slippage, which is understandable. Thanks for the vid!
I think Tiger’s upper body (over) development as part of his recent rehab is to compensate for the loss of his lower body/leg action that served him so well. That’s a tough way to play golf even for the best player in the history of the game. I also believe walking 72 holes will be the real test as to whether he can return to a competitive place. As in recent outing, when the ball starts going left and right, look for the limping and wincing to accelerate. .

He obviously feels comfortable in himself to do it. I think he himself has said he isn’t in any pain, but the hardware he now has in his legs has changed his gait. If anything, I would say his clunky shoes make him look cumbersome, but they will likely be specially made following his 2023 foot and ankle surgery.
