    I believe what Russel was thinking when he threw that interception in the end zone was #80 would make a play on the ball.
    I’m not even sure he would’ve had to jump for that pass, maybe a small hop.
    It seemed like he (#80) thought it was for
    Pickens.
    Every angle looks like that was an easily catchable ball.

    • @jtfike
      @jtfike 11 часов назад +1

      an easily catchable ball wouldn't have been over the head of a 6'7 person who had NO ONE standing in front of him but everyone behind him

    • @DeanDaCostathesearchauthority
      @DeanDaCostathesearchauthority 9 часов назад +5

      It wad easily catchable he just did not jump.

    • @arthurdanu1809
      @arthurdanu1809 8 часов назад

      @@jtfike I agree with you. If it was a straight pass and not a floater, that's an easy touchdown. The interception was on Russ, not Darnell.

    • @yopappy6599
      @yopappy6599 7 часов назад +3

      @@jtfike
      It doesn’t matter how tall he is, it matters that he didn’t put his hands up or jump, for whatever reasons.
      His height is irrelevant.
      It would be the same thing relative to someone shorter.
      The ball was floated over an incoming defender.
      That’s why it wasn’t thrown straight to him with “NO ONE” in front of him.😂
      He’s 6’7”, it basically turned into a desperation play, you put the ball where ideally..hopefully only he can get it, which is high.
      No it wasn’t a perfect pass.
      Maybe it wasn’t “easily” catchable, but it was definitely catchable, especially when you’re 6’7”.😉
      Also, I never said it was #80s fault. (I know the other commenter said that.)
      Chase asked what he was thinking like if he couldn’t in his ex QB mind come up with an explanation for the action.
      I said he was probably thinking #80 would make a play on the ball.
      That’s it. Simple.
      He’s scrambling, he’s trying to make a play on 3rd down, no tds all game…
      ”gee, let me throw one up to my guy who is 6’7”..(since that’s important)… and see if he can make a play on the ball.”
      He didn’t attempt to make a play, that’s all I said.
      I even gave a logical, UNDERSTANDABLE reason why he didn’t try to make a play on the ball.
      My response may be long but I didn’t write it just for you.

    Great breakdown. I am really hoping Arthur Smith has some adjustments tomorrow. Justin Fields has now been reintroduced in short yardage and possibly redzone situations. We were successful with pick-plays in the redzone last week, but Ravens had a good plan for that. Keep cooking, Russ. We are winning the Superbowl!🖤💛🖤💛

    I just want to understand why they struggled in the redzone all game long? Was it the Raven D just stepping up to the plate or was it bad route execution or was it bad play calling or was it something else? It was painful watching anytime they got within the 20..... It just felt like they couldn't do anything to finish the drive. They didn't even have a redzone drive that felt like they ALMOST got a TD. It was just dead from the start

    With the obvious exception of the Super Bowl int (when he should have checked out of a bad play call), Wilson excels at not losing games.
    There's a reason he has historic numbers in terms of team wins.

    I love these breakdowns!! I love learning more about the details of the game through the eyes and brain of a vet who has been in these situations and has a lot of knowledge on what is happening on the field. Also, learning about protections and defensive looks. As a Steelers fan, I am about done with the 50/50 balls to CA3. If he has a step on a go route? Great. But, correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't take a whole season of practice and playbook study to learn a go route or a fade route in the redzone. I understand that Mike Williams just got to the team a couple weeks ago, but until they feel more comfortable with his knowledge of the offense, why not give him at least a couple 50/50 shots or work the big body WR on a fade in the redzone? I don't understand why they haven't utilized Williams, almost at all. He gets one shot in his first game, and he catches the game winning TD. But I am just a civilian, I've never played in college or the NFL. So maybe I am sounding incredibly stupid right now as a dumb fan. But videos like yours help me continue to learn and understand what is going on on the field. Appreciate you brother!!🫡✌️

    I think Pickens calls it an "adjustable" ball because he can adjust to it while in the air. Hence the 80/20, not 50/50 results.

    6:16 those rightside receivers aren’t open and friermuth isn’t open. There is a huge difference between a go route on the sideline with 1 yard of separation and a throw near the middle of the field where the defenders are already within 2 yards and with their eyes on the quarterback closing on the receivers

    Get tired of people who disagree with opinions are called casuals First long pass accuracy is overrated. The receiver can speed up or slow down to adjust while defender has back to the ball. And I see same Russ. Couple good passes but if first Rec not there he runs out of pocket or gets sacked. That ends drives and why they don't score. He doesn't want to get hit so he leaves pocket. Eliminates half the field. But he is better than Fields. Passing

    4 hitch/sticks and a go route against man with a single high? Sorry, but thats just a dumb play call. Way too easy for that defense to just on everything and cover the top of that go.

      Middle of the field has never really been a huge part of russ' game. Check his career passing chart it’s pretty barren in the middle 😅. Those outside the numbers shots have always been his bread and butter. Deep shots and rollouts and scrambles paired with low TOs a good defense and a good run game worked for him in Seattle, maybe it will be sustainable in Pitt as well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

      Ravens did 2-shell defense the whole day preventing 50/50 ball...yes, it flustered Russ the whole game. He did adjust and start to throw to middle in the 2nd half.
