Last February 2023, during the big ice storm in Weatherford, I got stuck on a hill, icy road, after picking up my 3 black labs from the boarding kennel. Anyway, there was another F350 downward slope in front of me and a big mountain lion walked between my truck and the other truck and went down into the revine. 😮Luckily a nearby farmer had a CAT and pulled us back up the hill and the dogs and I didn't have to spend the night stuck there. 😊

Cougars here in my area are huge and in Wenatchee, Washington North Central WA they are often hunting in our city limits ar edge of town. In neighborhoods for small livestock and pets. I live along the Columbia River so they go down to river for water and follow deer herds in the hills. They banned hunting with dogs years ago so they are plentiful here. It's a real rude awaking to have a couple walking in your neighborhood near school etc. So glad you got that cat! Enjoyed the tractor suicide humor😂. I really loved watching you get the trucks loaded,Bluey was glad to get out of confinement and work some cattle! Merry Christmas to you Bonnie, the kids and grandkids at the Ranch to your hands and critters too! 🎄🎅☃️

That was a big cat. Hopefully we'll get some good deer hunting video before long, by the way you might check on your homeowners insurance it may pay for that Tractor. I had a 85 horse jd burn up two years ago and because I had it scheduled on my homeowners insurance it paid for it.
It burned in a a shed also, and because the outbuildings are insured they got paid for also.
The insurance fire inspector determined it was a phone charger plugged in the USB.

That horse is amazing. You don't even pull on the reins and it follows you around wherever you want to go. Maybe you have a treat in your pocket, lol. Love the video part on the tractor, but sorry for the expense of fixing up the barn. Did you ever figure out what the cause of the fire was. That mountain lion was enormous and good that you got it taken care of. It could have done so much damage to other deer, horses or whatever it got close to. Love watching Bluey, she is such a live wire. She does such a great job. Wishing you and Bonnie an early Christmas. Don't stop videoing, love them.

Around 1960 a lion was seen in sumner county kansas. 1972 i seen a lion cross the road in front of me in bultler county kansas. About 2000 i found lion tracks on one of are farms. It's in harvey county kansas. Then a freind's son told me about his classmates seen a lion about 20 miles from that farm. In 1966 i started helping dad run tractors almost all John Deere. I still have several John Deere tractors. A 5020 John Deere had rear end trouble after yrs of use. The only major break down with a tractor we had in 50 yrs . (mountian lions are rarely seen in this area)

Love watching bluey knows what to do. I love watching a dog work. Truly a happy moment for a working dog. If she hears the men yelling she come running to get a holt. If the steers moving just a tad too slow she coming to get a holt. You can be a distance away and she knows what to do. Has a great time watching and telling my wife what going on. I think she’s a cattle dog person now. We always used cur dogs here in Jena Louisiana. For squirrel hunting, hog hunting, and moving cattle around. I miss it. You have an amazing life. I could stay out there in a tent and work all day and would be in Heaven. My uncle still does this work. I bet you know him or heard of him. Keep making videos man

    Oh no, she's back!😆
Been moving the household over 2k miles away and getting unpacked and settled in to the new place these past few weeks and just haven't had the gumption left in me to reach for the keyboard though I HAVE been watching the videos! I'm exhausted, man.😆
Too bad about that cat, he was gorgeous and a real nice size, he would have made beautiful babies. Something bad must be happening in their area to drive them into y'alls fields to hunt. That's no good. Like 'em or not, they serve a purpose far greater than being wall mounts. I hope whatever is driving them to change their patterns, doesn't come down the line and affect y'all!
I've been enjoying the longer form videos lately and they've helped keep me lined up mentally during this long hard journey I've been treading upon. It's like hanging out with a pal that knows just what you need in the moment. You'll not be aware of it til now, but I've appreciated hearing your banter more than ever these past few weeks, Jason.🙂 The calm nature with which you approach.....well, damn near everything, has been soothing and much needed.
I'll not bore y'all with any more of my own details, but I am SO hoping this finds everyone well and sporting the between Holiday glow that seems to cover people between Thanksgiving and Christmas!
May your bellies always be full, your toesies warm and hearts full of Joy! Best to the Abraham Clan!

Farms and Ranches are business and anything business related when it comes to insurance is expensive. So unless you live in an area that mandates insurance on tractors just in case they get driven on the road, I would say it's not worth paying for insurance on a tractor; especially since it's a rather reasonable gamble that the tractor will last longer than what it would cost in yearly insurance premiums.
If you have to float a loan to purchase a tractor then it's also basically guaranteed that you will be forced to waste money on insurance.

Yup. GOT to have that balance. Montana had GREAT success bringing some wolves in to balance the predator/prey ratio a few years back. Before I recently left Washington State they have been talking about doing the same there as the massive deer pop is beginning to wreck the land, making it hard for it to recover. WA is full of pansies and pudwhackers though, so who knows if they'll follow through with it. They get EVERYTHING there wrong.
