Isn't Dina , Julien Alfred's training partner? If so i think she'll be good next year in Tokyo should she stay with the training group shes with if she stays healthy
For ppl who think this is Olympics or world champ, it is not, they are not representing jamaica, this is private, they can run whatever time they like, and lots of ppl who work 9-5 who dont understand what a going amateur to pro means should have a say, she just ran 3 races at the Olympics at fill pace, she just turn pro 6 months ago, her body not use to this running, normally as amateur its a 3 months break, as a pro only a few week rest, it take over a year to get use to it, she 19, yall cant be serious
This explanation is total ignorance. Whether you like it or not there is still a nationality attached to your name when running diamond league meets or any particular meet. Saying it's private is nonsense and that they can run whatever time they want? Really? Do you understand that prize money are at stake and winning these events? Which mean more money in their pockets? Plus advancing to the finals of the diamond league with a bigger prize money so heck no they can't run anytime they feel like!! I'm reading and following all these comments of disappointment and frustration with the result for Tia. Needless to say, I'm not surprised by the results or by the emotions on display. I dare say the unrealistic expectations of 10.7s, and the kind of hype that is constantly being pushed by this channel DOES NOT HELP. I have a very funny feeling those among us who really hold out these expectations are nor persons who did tracks. Maybe not real fans of the sport, but just folks who will readily follow a hype. We Janaicans have gotten accustomed to the performances of our athletes from the Golden era and have come to believe we are supposed to win and impress every time we hit the track. Some of us are not old enough to remember what it was like before 2008. It's about time we become more reasonable with our expectations and stop putting undue pressure on our athletes, then turn around and 'cuss dem out', especially those who should know better...or do you?!?
Well said. They forgot they had a bronze age and appreciated the athletes who received the bronze, now they look down on all athletes who do not win, what about the efforts and hard work they put in, and still get trashed
Agree with this 💯. Many never did tracks and don't really understand what it takes to run a specit time and to be running in a specific time range. For eg Tia is not a 10.8 sprinter as yet or a 10.9 sprinter. What persons don't understand is that you need to take the average of one's time.
All our young Athletes are much younger than everyone that's ahead of them. We just have to be patient and wait to see what we have. Yes the "golden" era is over because it was "golden" over time with many medals. and NOT in a one year period.
Tia is where she needs to be in her progression. I love Dina but she can only do this when certain athletes are not competing. Congrats though this one is yours
you don't need to win every race to make the Diamond league final.. will see Tia second up on 26th will have insight to what is realistic given her workload over the last 2 months...if she can have a tilt @final....time will improve and she will hit the line.

I share the same sentiment. I think she preform below expectation. After she have been running so great from the beginning of the season. Am a bit disappointed
Not really she is really on average a 10.9 runner so not surprised here. Still too big and too much body fat carrying around. She will get better with small increments of weight training to shed some more. People she's way too young to slide this pressure on her to carry the torch. Look at Tamara Davis she's coming along nicely and not rushing. Tia is a baby compared to these women with much to learn.
@onemanagainsttheworld1630 well if she does go faster than 10.86 for this season, that would be amazing, but I think she is tapped out for this season. Hopefully, we'll see faster times for next season, and she'll be on the podium for the World Championship.
TIA RAN IN THE 10.80S SO, IF SHE WANTS TO MAKE HER MARK, SHE HAS TO REMAIN IN THE 10.80S AND GO BELOW. BIG UPS TO HER JUST THE SAME. I AM EXPECTING OVER TIME, BOTH TIA AND TINA WILL IMPROVE GREATELY.
Still proud of you Tia you will get better day by day
@charlenejkins6313

Dina and Juliene are training partners so they'll be helping each other get faster.
