  • Join us to learn about opportunities for community engagement, service-learning, and community-based internships which abound at Willamette. We’ll hear from our Assistant Dean of Civic Engagement, Dr. Tommy Van Cleave. Tommy is an intercultural and civic-engaged learning scholar and practitioner. He brings extensive experience in Community Engagement and Experiential Learning to this role.
Through a student and community-centered approach, Tommy’s office strives to create and support efforts to deepen the University’s commitment to civic life, service, and community engagement. Through partnerships with faculty, staff, students, and members of the larger community, a primary goal is to create opportunities for students to explore their commitments to the public good in ways that are meaningful for themselves and community partners.
Joining him will be colleagues from our Career Development Office and the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life to discuss the ways that students can get involved in programs and internships with a community and civic engagement focus.
Our panelists and moderators for this session are:
Dr. Tommy Van Cleave, Assistant Dean of Civic Engagement
Geoff Dejanvier, Career Advisor for Public Services, Government, and the Sciences
Reverand I. Pearl Player, University Chaplin and Director of Spiritual & Religious Life
Eric Lassahn, Senior Associate Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement
