    About This Log and Timber Home:
    The "Log and Timber Home 2124AL" was designed from the very beginning with the idea to combine rustic log and custom timber elements. As we worked closely with the homeowner while designing this unique custom home, we quickly learned that they knew exactly what they wanted. Full log wall construction with squared timbers and stone for accents was desired for a truly rustic feel. Reclaimed wood flooring, reclaimed wood doors, and circlesawn boards on the ceilings would bring even more ruggedness to their dream home. A wrap-around covered porch was a must, along with an open loft where they could have a home office. With dogs being a central part of their life, they wanted to ensure that they would have their own space with unlimited access to a protected fenced-in area. This homechef also requested a gorgeously spacious kitchen with a lot of natural light, attached garage to have no steps between it and the home, and finally, an incredible stone wordburning fireplace chase to accompany the in-floor heat.

    This log home is beautiful sturdy and strong. When you see a tree growing and wood is cut from it and homes are made from it just beautiful. Making a home out of this is amazing wish more young people would decide to go into carpentry. Really tastefully done.

    I appreciate the informativeness and the reasoning for the choices. I think it would have been better to include the large windows by the fireplace as well here. I would have chosen different options on the windows than the owner, but since it's not my money or home, I guess he wasn't concerned about my taste. ;) On to Episode #3.

    I've always wondered from where do these houses get their water? A well? Or from the nearest city water system? What about sewage, gas and electrity?

    • @goldeneagleloghomes
      @goldeneagleloghomes  5 лет назад +3

      It depends on location, sometimes private well and sewer sometimes you can hook up to the city system for gas and power sometimes people are on solar wind or generators or propane thanks for watching

    I have a question. I currently have a 25 year old log home with jack pine 10 inch logs. We want to renovate our kitchen and put in a bigger window. I don't have the plans to show where the rods are, so would I just use a reciprocating saw to enlarge the opening using a wood blade to find the rod? Once the rod is found I could switch to a metal cutting blade. Or is there a better system to identify the rods?
    Thanks,

    • @goldeneagleloghomes
      @goldeneagleloghomes  Год назад

      Sounds like a great plan, our homes do not have rods in them, like your saying, but we we have long screws,so same type of idea

      Totally Built (Turnkey) Cost of the Log & Timber 2124AL
      Thank you for following along with this Log Home Construction video series. Along with thousands of others, you are probably wondering how much this great home would cost to build.
      Let’s go back to how this all started. This homeowner came to us, and really liked the Eagle Prow 1975AL. That stock plan would have a (♦ turnkey cost) of approximately $499,000 as an 8”x8” full log home. As with each of the 5,200+ homes we have previously built in North America, this homeowner began by modifying our stock plan because they were looking for more luxurious options and a larger home. With the help of our in-house design team. They increased the size of the home, upgraded to 12”x12” full logs, and choose deluxe options on nearly every single item in this home. This resulted in a turnkey cost of approximately $950,000.♦ Turnkey costs do not include the unpredictable variable costs such as price of the land, well, septic, landscaping, taxes.
