In my opinion, Western kissing is more about both parties and Eastern kissing is more about someone kissing another person. Western kissing is more lustful and passionate, where Eastern is more subtle and symbolic.
The only thing I appreciate about the korean kiss scenes is that I wouldn't get as uncomfortable watching them with my family in the living room (which is usually the case with western movies) but whenever I watch kdramas on my own I can't help but laugh at how childish and unrealistic the whole kissing and hugging stuff is.
Nah, for me both are uncomfortable to watch with my parents, western kisses we all know why, but with korean kisses they take too much time, it's a lot of different angles and they suddenly zoom in their lips, it gets weird really fast. 😂
I think we as asian must not copy their way of doing intimate scene to show to the public especially when comes to family entertainment which include romance dramas. I personnaly don't like to watch a western way of showing kisses just to excite the audience. To me it looks filthy as if I'm about to watch a roll of blue film , We as asian have morally respected culture. Do they think that we asian does not know how to kiss like they show in film? Yes we do, but we do it in private and in a bedroom, not infront of old people and children in dramas or movies. If it shows in Korean or chinese film or any other asian films, I just don't know how to make out the moral of the actor and actress especially the married one which is still acting in film having passionate kiss with other than their own spouse or their girlfriend/boyfriend and show it the public to watch May god forbid.
@@blackrose_111 Yeah, it's because of that way of thinking that a lot of korean actresses and idols are committing suicide. It's worth it living a lie like this? If your society were a little less hypocritical the suicide numbers in your country would have a drastically decrease. Western kiss is more intimate, sometimes with tongue included and tend to make you feel uncomfortable if it's too long. Korean kiss is just pressing lips ahaha very cute but doesn't really make you invested. Though I do have seen both western tv shows and kdramas with "normal" kiss with a scale that goes hard - normal - soft... that's the kind of kiss I prefer to watch in romcons, not too passionate to make me feel awkward and not too subtle either hahah
what cracks me up in some kdramas is that sometimes one of the significant other(s) doesn't show much emotion, dont hug back, or stays shocked in between the kiss😂
They be talking how delicate the actors in kdramas be touching when kissing like bruh the way they be forcefully yanking shawty’s arm when she is about to walk away like chill 😭
In every K-drama I’ve seen, women are passive partners. They get kissed, they don’t do the kissing. Their lips don’t move, their body language almost screams “Don’t touch me!” until they melt and that slow, reluctant arm comes up to embrace their partners. The message is clear: men are the sexual beings, and women must be led to their sexual selves by men. I find it fascinating and unsettling to watch. However, I enjoy watching them because people aren’t jumping in bed 2 seconds after they meet. I like that slow burn, it’s a nice change.
Coffee Prince has a real kiss moment ... well it turns into a full on bed moment that you dont get to see but shes pretty aggressively active in the kiss lol
@delilahblue64 Yes, I started watching Kdramas because I liked the slow burn, but I never liked the "dead fish" kisses. Especially when it was adults. But kdramas have gotten better when it comes to kissing. Not saying that no kdrams do the dead fish kissing, but there are tons that don't. A favorite that I still go back to of adults acting like adults (besides Another Ms. Oh) is Oh My Venus. It doesn't overdo it, but I don't think there's any of that body language you mentioned.
Coffee Prince is in my “to watch” list. I haven’t seen it yet because the “girl disguised as boy” trope drives me nuts. But now I’m curious! LOL I’m also going to check out Another Ms Oh and Oh My Venus. Thanks for the recs! 😃
@@delilahblue64 Happy to. I love CP because at the time I first saw it, it was the closest to Western culture that I'd seen. The 90s slang alone had me.
Those rare moments when I watch a K-Drama and the kiss is actually passionate and hot - HELL YEEEAH! None of that middle school pressing lips against each other and just stand there as if frozen in time!
@@s.a.m.1771 My secret romance, 1% of something, Her private life, all had realistic kisses too. Also if Sung Hoon is the main lead in the drama, it's guaranteed to have good kisses. 😂
@MewDenise I think i just found my soulmate in you..I can cry T.T!...I have exactly the same! It's so frustrating to have all that built up tension being suppressed with disappointing kissing scenes. Aargh..that just kills me half of the time! But those 'HOT ones'..o lalala!! Especially, when you don't expect the HOT and Steamy kiss and then it sneaks up on you like a sniper...that's the best thing ever!! I love these surprises ;)
watch melting me softly ; ) there's literally SO many that actually kiss tho, just don't watch the ones from 2013 and under if you look at the recent drama list, 90% of them have american kisses but not too wild like they did it in those movies. they kiss and they move their lips but it's romantic. extraordinary you is like the only drama recently where they didnt move their lips lmao probably cause its a bit scary to think of highschoolers going too wild
Kdramas definitely tend to focus on the romance rather than the passion. Usually in kdramas, the love interests don’t kiss until like the tenth episode, whereas in western dramas, they kiss almost immediately from the start. You can tell that kdramas love to built up the character development and relationships between the two lovers before letting them kiss... it gives more of a satisfying feeling knowing that you’ve waited so long for them to do it haha
Maybe but at many times I was disappointed like... Ive waited that long for just a smack ? Like I don’t need a French but at least lips moving together...
Ahhh not really .. I get what you mean by, at times they suddenly start kissing but that’s because of how the moment is shown or what’s going on in the plot of the movie/show but usually western romantic shows or movies take their time so when they kiss, it’s strong and passionate and you can just feel the love.. but that’s just my opinion ah ha ha
that asian couple kissing looked boring, the background and visuals are undoubtedly stunning but the kiss itself is meh (my opinion). westerns are just more open and passionate in showing their love and aren’t afraid to look too "sexual" if you know what i mean
Seriously ! Do you really believes that the drama and the reality are the same !! . They do kiss like westren movies in reality they're humans too .The difference is just in the drama and films but in reality they're the same .. And the kiss depends on the mood of the persons , it can be sometimes slow like an eastern drama scene or more vividly like a western drama scence .. The title have to be "The difference between Western kiss scene and Eastern kiss scene in drama and movies" So people won't misundrestood the issue. It's not about being open minded when you're with the person you love you'll be just free and it's okey to be caring somtimes
I think Korean dramas sell people dreams,in reality no one really wants that that’s why they are getting flustered with the American kiss scenes cz they are more exciting
HA! Yep, Kdramas are selling dreams, not reality. Who would want a guy that gives you a peck on the lips and just stays there like a statue? That's not a kiss. LOL
Melissa Warinda the western kissing scenes are how they kiss leading up to sex. Lot of more casual kissing daily that is just being affectionate. Different ways of showing affection without the drama
@@brendamarcus4405 but none of those kiss scenes were leading up to sex. 😕 It's just that the kissing in the West is more passionate. And even kissing scenes that are more toned down still have movement and reciprocation, not just standing there like statues and trying to paint perfect beautiful scenes that are completely unrealistic.. Usually the only time we see kiss scenes like that are from shows on Nickelodeon or Disney where the actors are teenagers thus the kiss has to be chassid.
Nfyers I read that Korea has strict laws against showing any kind of adult kissing or touching that is too realistic, because of children watching. Has to be very chaste. But they can show gory murder scenes, beatings and other stuff. Makes no sense. Lol. I do like how they show bed scenes though, because they are always under hugh blankets, so you just use your imagination. I’m american
Human u I feel you, sometimes they story is good but just a peck on the lips doesn’t go with it. If it’s high school story okay but going older is like...Please.
They have a strict rating system. You will only get away with so much. You will never see someone butt-ass naked in Korean dramas like you do in American dramas. They are more modest and conservative than in the west.
"in korea they use slow motion, the western is immediately making out" me watching korean dramas: "they're taking too long, when they gonna make out" 😂😂
I have heard that they keep kisses super “G” rated for the censors. It not indicative of real life, because people don’t kiss like that in real life. I mean Nickelodeon tween shows shows more realistic kissing than that.
I'll be honest, whenever I watch a Korean drama, I'm looking for some kind of jaw action. If it's just resting lips on lips, I'm left upset lol...because that's not a real 💋, you GOT to have some movement at least...and no open eyes please! unless it's a scene where you know it's a complete surprise lol
Honestly skip past most kissing scenes in korean dramas and won't watch any kiss scene in the US if I'm not alone 😆. The kdrama kisses are just so uncomfortable too watch, it even feels forced. I will say in kdramas when it's good it's really good. Gong yoo and the guy from Secretary Kim always deliver.
@@bosedelynt1381 Yesss!! Like are you that surprised or do you just not want it to happen? Feels really unconcentual sometimes, if that makes sense. Too much focus on the girl somehow being soo pure that she doesn't even know how to kiss or what it is. I have yet to see a girl in a kdrama lead a kiss and actually make it look like she is enjoying it. And the slow motion thing is really annoying too.
Difference: Koreans just touch lips whereas westerners actually kiss and I believe that a majority of them don’t know how to kiss because of these unrealistic scenes in Kdramas (just my opinion because I’ve heard so many stories of Koreans being bad or not as good kissers)
Agree. When the lady asked why they moved their lips like that i was tickled because all i hear is that Koreans only know how to use tongue, so i couldn't help but think that's why she found the lip movement weird. The korean kiss scenes are soo unrealistic but that is part of the appeal i guess. We all can experience a lusty passionate kiss but one that stops time? Very rare. Still more inclined towards a hot western kiss though.
WhatReallyMatters yeah and the biggest problem I’ve heard is that the first move they go for is shoving their tongue (not to mention they don’t know how to use tongue properly it’s more of swapping saliva😷) in which is very unappealing since it’s too quick and forward and that person might not like you sticking your tongue down their throat you’re supposed to do it slowly and see if they like it or not😅
I kissed an Asian and as soon as we locked lips he went to shoving his tongue in and out of my mouth repeatedly. I had to clench my teeth together to get him to stop. It was very uncomfortable. I'm not saying all Asian men do that. That was just my experience.
Gotta agree. I’ve dated Koreans before and most of them didn’t knew how to kiss properly... No passion in their kisses, it felt more like someone was doing a check up to my mouth^^
don’t be fooled by these k-drama scenes, I’ve seen multiple dramas where Koreans can actually kiss really well and passionately which could come very close to western kissing scenes, js
True, but the slow-mo-first-kiss-like kisses dominate by far I’d say. You have to search for a while first to find a real passionate and intense kiss scene in K-dramas, they’re rather rare. But if the story is good and the actors are good I can deal with everything
what ever yeah that’s true, I’ve been lucky finding dramas tho where they have really passionate kisses but like you said, if the storyline and actors are good, I’m fine with it all
they are such a rarity tho. there are many more kdramas where the kiss/hug scenes just feel so stunted. one of the best(and super rare type!) kiss scene in a kdrama i've seen is in Goong(Princess hours) because it was an actual kiss! It wasn't a kdrama peck but neither was it like a western make-out scene.
@@cherryrose5514 I said *MOST* Kdramas ....do you not know what I mean? Can you even relate to what I've said as far as Kdramas go? Haven't you seen the statue kiss many times? I saw secretary Kim, and it was different than most, but it was still just *"racy for a Kdrama".* Compared to American TV it's still PG ......which is actually why I like Kdramas. The statute kisses just crack me up. Especially knowing what I know about Korean men and the brothels they frequent on a regular basis, they even have pool funds for companies so the men can go out and drink and visit brothels together, married or not. They aren't so pure over there as the face they try to out on for the rest of the world.😉

When I first saw a Korean kiss scene I kept waiting on the actual "kiss"....I'm from South Africa🤣....now I enjoy it, the atmosphere that they build up
Omg me too I've been watching dramas for 7 years now. Now I'm so used to the kissing scenes being that way. But they have been getting slightly more western these days I have to admit
Cause its not suppose to be sensual. Kdrama ussually kiss not for the sake of lust. But to show their love and emotion. Ussually kiss scene appear on emotional scene. But maybe thats because our diffrences on our culture. Western tend to see kiss or peck as something normal to do. But for eastern, kiss is something we do only to people we love or sometime saved for marriege.
@@mynamo12 Thank you! People keep saying the U.S. ones are better. Most don't have any real emotion but lust. Or saying it looks more realistic. Uh I've seen PDA in real life. Hollywood ain't realistic. Real PDA is ughh. I love a light kiss on the cheek here's to you Ju Ju-Hoon(Mask) and Jang Hyuk (Fated to Love). Plus when they got to the actual kiss scenes I was like hell yeah. As much as Boys Over Flowers had the board kiss they also gave us multiple kiss scenes. I mean seriously folks expect us to believe that a couple will kiss once maybe twice and that's it!
TVwriter23 Right? I don’t feel any “passion” or love, it’s just lust. I’m not sure how that’s better. The Korean ones make me FEEL something, especially when they do a good job to actually build up to the scene. In the U.S. ones people kiss left and right to the point where it doesn’t even mean anything. 🤦♀️
7 year old me 😊 novelas are the best when it comes to bed and kissing scences it makes you feel like you are the one getting kissed Korean kisses are too soft kissing is about passion and they don't show that
Western kissing scenes are more arousing(??) and kinda electrifying and more fun to watch alone in a way but eastern kissing scenes are more emotionally fulfilling and you they build the suspense with the slow motion and then there’s the music and the beautiful set, effects, and it’s just calming and heartwarming
I was a bit confused by this as well because.. you dont just touch lips and part away after 3 seconds you actually move your lips. its only because it's the drama, asians will obviously kiss normally so Idk why they think its weird about the western kissing. Doesnt everyone kiss like that if you are in a relationship or a first kiss?
Passion and lust and excitement is inevitable, they just show those delicate kissing style to make it viewable for all age, because showing too much lustful type of kiss people will feel the focus in more on making it sexual rather than the emotion
imo: i don't think the sample clips are comparable. There is a wide variety of kissing scenes in korean movies that I've watched. As well as in western movies. But I don't think this video represented both point of views well. I don't think.they'd have the same reaction if the sample clips authentically represents the variety of the western and the korean kissing scenes.
NCT LOVES IT TOO I mean yeah but I’ve seen this type of stuff in the hallways at school, when I go out in the shopping area, like literally everywhere and it’s like “I didn’t need to see that”
For someone who just started watching Kdrama’s , I prefer the slow build up of their romance and respectful kiss scenes. The western kiss scenes are a little too hurried and over done almost embarrassingly too much in my opinion. I can’t remember crying in a western romance but kdrama’s got me sobbing lol! Love them... also Kdramas are family watching, western romance are almost x-rated, many people are not comfortable watching with kids or parents.
U.S. romance films aren't really that great when it comes to romance. TV show too. Maybe in pre 2ks, but something happened where we just aren't good at it.
Western: passionate & sexy Korean: romantic & cute If you've passed puberty, you tend to lean towards the former. Both are great, but Western-style usually leads to *step 2*. I can't imagine that in a freakin spaceship.
I’m American, and I know their is big difference in western and eastern kissing. Was shocked first time I saw eastern kiss( korean) I thought it was beautiful the way the man kissed bottom lip then top and back and forth. But the woman almost did nothing, like almost no emotions. Just about every scene you see the woman are portrayed almost stiff and cold. The men are great kissers. Hyun Bin May be the best. Lol. Never kissed an Asian, but I believe I prefer their way. The woman just need to relax and get into it also. The woman in this video was perfect to watch, so funny. The men seem more into the scenery than the kiss, but I think they were embarrassed watching western kiss. 💋
The hotel kiss scene in Bromance is Similar, but she didn't have a deer in headlights look. If she didn't have to hide the fact that she's a girl this would.have turned into baby making scene. That last scene at the end in the hotel hallway I think was.a baby making scene. LOL
Honestly I don't know if it's because I'm still a virgin 😂 but I like the korean ver more it's soft and delicate the western kiss scares me and all that tongue moves agh..
You don't have to be non-virgin to kiss lol When you start kissing, you'll definitely prefer western. Korean ver is better for the dramas, not for real life lollllll
I feel like it’s for distraction, like they don’t wanna confront the kissing scenes. I’m like that whenever I’m watching an intense scene (not necessarily a kissing scene, but when there’s suspense or something else), otherwise I’ll have to pause it and settle down my emotions first.
This is literally the video I’ve been waiting for. I could not understand the kiss scenes in k-dramas... I mean I loved it but I was like... that’s it???? These types of videos are so helpful for westerners into k-drama and movies.
The thing about the tree and the flowers in the Hotel Del Luna scene is that it’s not just for symbolism- the tree is literally reflective of her heart because she’s UNDEAD. Once the tree blossoms and the flowers fall away again, she’ll be able to move on to the afterlife. So the tree flowering is not just symbolically but also LITERALLY indicative of her letting her walls down. It’s an actual plot point, not just for some pretty cinematography.
The video was really funny, especially the reactions! It's a bit of an unfair comparison, though, because you only showed one Korean example and several western ones. Plus, the western ones were all movies (I suppose), while the Korean one is from a TV show. In Korean movies, kiss scenes also feel more natural and passionate, because the audience is different (kids could be watching dramas on TV so it's more subdued), f.e. My PS Partner, A Frozen Flower etc. And some dramas actually have more natural making out f.e. Another Miss Oh, It's ok thats love, Her private life.... All in all it's gotten much better now with the kisses, I still remember the wall kissing from just 3-4 years ago, oh dear.... It is true though that the main difference is the filming and soft and romantic feel, that'd be considered cheesy in Western film. Quite a good reflection of those aspects!
As a westerner we always complain about the Asian kiss scenes they are terrible we call them “fish kiss” no passion whatsoever ever it’s hard finding an Asian kiss scene that’s actually good. Also the Asian women always seem shocked to be kissed and never really get involved or put any effort in. Lastly the guy that gave the metaphors for each kind of kiss did a great job!
i've heard from friends and seen a lot of videos on foreigners from different countries coming to korea, and saying that koreans don't really know how to kiss and some blame the media mostly.and i can see why, on a lot of kdramas which is really popular in korea they don't really put passion into the kiss scenes it is mostly just pecks and always shot in slow motion.even if the guy grabs the girl hand it is a bit dramatic and in slow motion.
The Korean scene they showed lacked passion. It was little more than pressing lips together. It was beautiful, the setting, lighting etc. but it was devoid of passion. Neither the man or the women seemed really into it.
You felt that way because you havn't even watched the story. It was actually pretty intense and a very awaited scene. The kiss n the trees had great significance in the drama
Some Westerners like Kdramas because of the flirting, the push-pull. Like some of the older movies like Jimmy Stewart in "The Shop Around the Corner". The banter is fun, the conflicting emotions, the attempts to get the timing right. The chase and push-pull is where all the fun happens. Sometimes going too passionate right away takes away from mystery. That being said, the kisses between Kim Jae Wook and Park Min Young in "Her Private Life" were pretty mind-blowing. Those will make your heart pound. Ji Chang Wook, Yoon Si Yoon, Park Min Young, Park Bo Gum and some others are great screen kissers.
The newer films don't do it for me in romance. Sadly great romantic movies died in the 90s when it comes to Hollyeood. They have some good ones here and their, but the U.S. hasn't been really good at romance for.a while
western kissing scenes are the kind of scenes that you would be embarrassed if parents caught you watching them, and eastern kiss scene are safer to watch around anyone.
Asian kiss scenes are very romantic, dramatic, and unrealistic as it normally takes many episodes and excess story lines to reveal a kiss scene. And when they do show a kiss scene, most of the time the actors just seem to peck slightly while the cameras rotate 360° around them. They don't actually seem to make out most of the time, although some K-kisses are showing more kiss action recently. Also, in Korean culture ppl don't typically kiss on the first date or even first few dates, because they consider getting to know someone important. Unlike western culture, where we are very physical in showing our emotions and also think it can be just as important as personality (sexual chemistry). Korea just fantasizes and tries to make kissing romantic in every sense, where as western countries idolize passion as real love.
Shortly...Korean kissing is softer...Is more about making each other feel loved and make the other person see that you care about them I don't know ... My opinion
Dramas are about fantasy and all that romanticised load. Westerners are open and they aren't afraid to show passion in their kiss. The asian culture cares a lot about what people think so it makes sense to worry about where youre kissing and what type of kiss you do in public. Westerners be like, I want to kiss you right now. Not even an earthquake will stop me. I'm sorry. I love kdramas but lawd sometimes passion is a scream like YES heck. Telenovelas are the place to be. (this is just in regards to the video, not generalising people.in real life)
Yes and I haven't been able to get that near sexual assault kiss out of my mind ever since and it's been like 3 years. Love LMH and PSH but god she is the worst kisser i have ever seen.
When my mother and I watch Korean dramas together, she always gets really annoyed at the kiss scenes because she says that it looks like two kids just touching lips to see if you really do get cooties xD
I'm older and I call those kisses cardboard kisses because it looks like two pieces of cardboard pressed together! I want them to at least show a little life!
In other words Western: reality Kdramas: Expectation, Imagination THAT IS WHY MY STANDARDS ARE TOO HIGH BRUH, KDRAMAS TAUGHT ME THAT EXPECTATION AND I LOVE IT.
Alot of kiss scenes in U.S. films feel too over the top. I never really feel anything. Boys over Flowers had multiple board kisses yeah, but IDK. I just remember feeling like they were a real couple in love because of it.
I'm just happy to see that the more recent k-dramas are more frequently featuring kissing scenes that are somewhat more "active" than many of the older shows (not all that long ago, really), which often have the two main characters just pressing their faces together, then holding that pose until the scene changes. Not even a lip twitch can be seen. They always remind me of the way a little child makes their dolls kiss!
I think passionate kissing is universal but culturally what's televised is the excuse they use to further promote what the public wants to promote. Example watch Korean movies vs tv drama
I love korean dramas. Like, LOVE them. Way better than any American romcom and what not. However, they tend to focus more on skinships. When a character pats, aka character A touches character B, the camera always focuses on that. A hug is like the maximum it gets and a kiss is almost a red flag. Holding hands, arms around eachother, hugs, shoulder patting as a way of comfort. This is what they emphasize on. Also, most kisses are more of "hardly touching lips"-kisses. I get that it should somewhat resemble the innocence and push more towards the emotional side than sexual/physical. But come on, you don't need to push your tongue back and forth but just passionately push your lips onto each other. I counted like 5 proper kisses in maybe 20kdramas I've watched so far.
It takes FoReVer in Asian Drama but has a soft lusting. Sometimes u feel as tho they are going to kiss and then they break apart. In Western tho, it's fast and direct with no complications and the dramatic(blood secens or after imprisonment) scenes you can really see the hardships they went to and you feel like their love with last forever.
I think koren kiss scene are more about looking beautiful and representing a change in dynamic between characters, while in westeren movies and series its about passion and emotion. Frankly, if you're in love with someone, those boring kisses will leave you quite unsatisfied after a while.😅🤣 Not to mention the restrain you have to show every time.
Should have used tame western romance movie scenes instead of sci-fi/action movies. Those scenes feed off the action that took place before the kiss. Two different feelings/emotions being compared.
I like the Korean kiss scene more, because personally, I feel that the American kiss scene is too sexual. They are too all over each other, it's kind of uncomfortable to watch. I feel that the Korean kiss scene is more emotional and heart warming ❤️
Yes! Thank you! Someone finally said it. Western kiss scenes are so cringey to watch. Korean kiss scenes actually make you feel nice rather than just ...uncomfortable. Going through puberty or not has nothing to do with it. Neither does age or whether you're a virgin. Some people just tend to be more of romantics than others.
Okay but in a lot of Korean dramas or the ones I watched they kiss as if they are just against a wall. It’s like their lips are just touching as if it was a accident but they just didn’t move away. Just I saw in earlier comments people talking about Novelas and oh child. Don’t get me started.
These were fantasy kisses, in movies it depends on the context behind the kiss, some aren't always aggressive as you so put it. That aggression is usually a display of passion, lust, desire, hence why they breathe so hard and look like face huggers.
the actual first kiss scene that was kind of satisfying i saw in a kdrama was What's wrong with Secretary Kim also Fight My Way ...both with Park Seojoon and may i say that he rly looks like a good kisser
What's funny is that when you watch real Korean movies, (not TV dramas), they are just as explicit as western films. Check out A Man and a Woman staring Goo Yoo. A Frozen Flower, The Intimates.
Western kisses give you a kind of high and lust whereas Korean kisses give you the feels and make you feel warm. I like k-drama kisses tbh. Western ones are just not for me.
The difference is that WE ACTUALLY KISS BRO Koreans don’t even know how to for real tho (not saying all of them I’m based on the stories and the dramas)
This Korean kissing scene is actually good compared to other Korean dramas I've seen. Usually they are just barely touching each other's lips, while one of them has a shocked face with eyes wide open.
In my opinion, Western kissing is more about both parties and Eastern kissing is more about someone kissing another person. Western kissing is more lustful and passionate, where Eastern is more subtle and symbolic.
Very well said
I agree 👍
I often feel it's the guy in eastern kissing scenes that has to put in most of the work

Though I do have seen both western tv shows and kdramas with "normal" kiss with a scale that goes hard - normal - soft... that's the kind of kiss I prefer to watch in romcons, not too passionate to make me feel awkward and not too subtle either hahah

@@amandamckinney6331 I was just thinking that as I was reading delilahblue64's comment. Coffee Prince came straight to my mind.

Kdramas definitely tend to focus on the romance rather than the passion. Usually in kdramas, the love interests don’t kiss until like the tenth episode, whereas in western dramas, they kiss almost immediately from the start. You can tell that kdramas love to built up the character development and relationships between the two lovers before letting them kiss... it gives more of a satisfying feeling knowing that you’ve waited so long for them to do it haha
true.....i completely agree

It's just that the kissing in the West is more passionate.
Lol. Difference:
Koreans just touch lips whereas westerners actually kiss and I believe that a majority of them don’t know how to kiss because of these unrealistic scenes in Kdramas (just my opinion because I’ve heard so many stories of Koreans being bad or not as good kissers)

True, but the slow-mo-first-kiss-like kisses dominate by far I’d say. You have to search for a while first to find a real passionate and intense kiss scene in K-dramas, they’re rather rare. But if the story is good and the actors are good I can deal with everything

The thing about the tree and the flowers in the Hotel Del Luna scene is that it’s not just for symbolism- the tree is literally reflective of her heart because she’s UNDEAD. Once the tree blossoms and the flowers fall away again, she’ll be able to move on to the afterlife. the truth is that Asian kisses show different angles so it is not very noticeable that they don't even move their lips, lol

@@californiadreamer5968 Hello my spirit animal.
They didn't put the proper kdrama kiss scene. I mean where my bitches lee Jong Suk, ji chang wook and park seo joon at

@@lavenna522 Yes! 'A Man and A Woman', good film!
that girl who was drooling is SO FUNNY
Shortly...Korean kissing is softer...Is more about making each other feel loved and make the other person see that you care about them
I don't know ... My opinion
“my mouth isn’t watering anymore, but my heart is getting warm” 😂♥️ i love her
Dramas are about fantasy and all that romanticised load. Westerners are open and they aren't afraid to show passion in their kiss.
The asian culture cares a lot about what people think so it makes sense to worry about where youre kissing and what type of kiss you do in public. Westerners be like, I want to kiss you right now. Not even an earthquake will stop me.
I'm sorry. I love kdramas but lawd sometimes passion is a scream like YES
heck. Telenovelas are the place to be.
(this is just in regards to the video, not generalising people.in real life)
I love your comment it said everything I wanted to say ❤
@@babyboop2878 :) glad i could help
I feel like the western kisses are more passionate and "strong", while the eastern ones are softer and more "traditionally romantic".
The first time I saw a passionate kiss in a K-Drama was "Heirs"
For me it was reply 1998
Check the one in city hunter between lee min ho and park min young it's really 👌🏻
Yes and I haven't been able to get that near sexual assault kiss out of my mind ever since and it's been like 3 years. Love LMH and PSH but god she is the worst kisser i have ever seen.
There was a passionate kiss in What’s wrong with secretary Kim too
chicago typewriter kiss was the best
When my mother and I watch Korean dramas together, she always gets really annoyed at the kiss scenes because she says that it looks like two kids just touching lips to see if you really do get cooties xD
I'm older and I call those kisses cardboard kisses because it looks like two pieces of cardboard pressed together! I want them to at least show a little life!
In other words
Western: reality
Kdramas: Expectation, Imagination
THAT IS WHY MY STANDARDS ARE TOO HIGH BRUH, KDRAMAS TAUGHT ME THAT EXPECTATION AND I LOVE IT.
Maria Matias 😂😂 Not even, I don't go out and try and eat my partners face in public!
Alot of kiss scenes in U.S. films feel too over the top. I never really feel anything. Boys over Flowers had multiple board kisses yeah, but IDK. I just remember feeling like they were a real couple in love because of it.
THE DROOLING GIRL HAD ME CHUCKLING. LOVE HER 😂🤣
Passionate vs romantic. Depends on what rocks ya i guess
The guy who doesn't even remember his last kiss.. you've got a fan over here dude 💜
What’s the background music at 3:46? It’s so beautiful
haaha that so cute haha her mouth was watering. lol but also wth, why was her mouth watering?
Korean kiss is for emotional scene tho? And kiss is big deal on eastern soooo( lot of asian save kiss for marriage)
Korean kiss scene = I love you
Western kiss scene = I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU DAMN IT!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can't stop laughing
Korean: Peck on the lip and stares at eachother for 10 minutes
Western: Straight up passionate and feels more realistic lol
Hahahahahahah I can’t “I can’t remember the last time I Kissed, what unpleasant question “ 😭😂😭😂❤️ Killed me
Should have used tame western romance movie scenes instead of sci-fi/action movies. Those scenes feed off the action that took place before the kiss. Two different feelings/emotions being compared.
That's EXACTLY what I said! Those Western kiss scenes were a bad comparison to the Korean ones.
From what I've seen it basically boils down to western passion Vs eastern romance
I like the Korean kiss scene more, because personally, I feel that the American kiss scene is too sexual. They are too all over each other, it's kind of uncomfortable to watch. I feel that the Korean kiss scene is more emotional and heart warming ❤️
Same bro
Yes!
@@tubapanda Completely agree! 👍🏻❤️
That's exactly how I see it, western films portray kissing much too over the top, so much it's a complete cringe! Pack of lustful bastards.
Okay but in a lot of Korean dramas or the ones I watched they kiss as if they are just against a wall. It’s like their lips are just touching as if it was a accident but they just didn’t move away. Just I saw in earlier comments people talking about Novelas and oh child. Don’t get me started.
Some of yall haven’t seen more then the classic dramas and it shows.
FIRST!!!!!!!!!
''Let me clear my mouth and talk'' LMFAOOOOO
The difference is that WE ACTUALLY KISS BRO Koreans don’t even know how to for real tho (not saying all of them I’m based on the stories and the dramas)
A balance of those different styles would be great.
The Korean kisses don’t even look like kisses tho. It’s just an awkward peck...
This Korean kissing scene is actually good compared to other Korean dramas I've seen. Usually they are just barely touching each other's lips, while one of them has a shocked face with eyes wide open.
