Ski School is probably the biggest thing theyre riffing on in this episode but theyre also commenting on how a lot of 80s comedies such as Porky's or Revenge Of The Nerds have a lot of weird rapey jokes that you would never do now lol
Yep. I just posted a similar comment, saying this episode is a combo spoof of 3 different 1980s movies: 40% Ski School, 40% Better Off Dead, and 20% Revenge of the Nerds.
This has to be one of my favourite episodes and it really marks the beginning of them going all out on a theme with an episode. They nail it and perfectly put their characters into this genre and era and it all just works.
As mentioned Ski School is probably the primary inspiration, the even have Dean Cameron (Drisko) as a guest actor who was in both of the Ski School movies.
Ski School is the main movie they are spoofing. The Dave Drisco guy was actually one of the leads of that movie, so he is essentially playing the same character that he played in Ski School.
In terms of 80s movies that follow this formula Revenge of the Nerds comes to mind. You also got Porky's, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and Animal House. They all kinda have that crazy party vibe that would never fly in movies today.
There are more than one 80's movies where an actual literal rape happens and it's either played as a joke or that it's punishment to her boyfriend. 80s were fucking wild.
I think this is spoofing a whole era rather than a single movie, but to point to one, it would be Ski School (1990) perhaps? the main character of that is the guy in the wig in this episode
The guy that plays Drisko was the main protagonist in Ski School, which this episode is referencing the most. But there were probably a dozen other movies with the same theme but a different setting.
I know it’s been said a bunch, but the two 80s ski films I know are Ski School & Hot Dog the Movie. I think Better Off Dead (a personal fave) could fall under that too.
The last bit of this where Dennis hurt his ankle is based off a real skiing incident that a guy named Tanner Hall went through. The dialogue is nearly verbatim!
For whatever reason (cocaine), there were so many ski movies in the 80's. That's all this is referencing. That and other offensive by today's standards teen sex comedies from the era, like Porky's.
Completely forgot that s11 had a decent episode. Would've been a good ending, with Charlie overcoming finally his obsession with the waitress 🤔 d and mac didn't do sh*t tho
Can't stand this episode... but IMO, you're officially in mediocre Sunny land. Still a few bangers peppered here anr there but the streak is over in by book.

There’s also elements from movies like Out Cold
That hole in the shower bit is definitely Porky's. When I was a kid, I probably watched them hundreds of times parts 1 and 2.
The lead actor from Ski School Dean Cameron played Drisco in this episode
And Better Off Dead.

Ok
Weak episode
@@paulthealien8028hell nah
Yeah stuff like this was in a TON of raunchy 80s comedies. I think the peeping shower thing is on the movie cover of the Porky's films.
"Better off dead" & "Hot Dog" were in that mix of 80s ski movies as well...lol
As mentioned Ski School is probably the primary inspiration, the even have Dean Cameron (Drisko) as a guest actor who was in both of the Ski School movies.

Dennis trying to reach his peak potential at the mountain is hilarious 😂😂😂

Season 16 is a banger so far 2 episodes in and I'm loving it can't wait till you get there
Mannn I keep getting trailers recommended on YT lmao I’m only on S14 though!
@@KungFuNight oh man you got some awesome stuff ahead of you🤣🤣
The 2 eps were goooood
Yeah ! Well, only the second one had some belly laughs for me.
I think they were only okay. Something seems off this season.
10:25 you can clearly see Mac break character lmao
In terms of 80s movies that follow this formula Revenge of the Nerds comes to mind. You also got Porky's, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and Animal House.
They all kinda have that crazy party vibe that would never fly in movies today.
Project X came out 10 years ago and was an even crazier party movie than any of those
Seen this episode so many times but Charlie with the saxofone still got me !
I love how this episode is their loving riff on the 80’s “ski” movies like Ski School and Ski Patrol.
There are more than one 80's movies where an actual literal rape happens and it's either played as a joke or that it's punishment to her boyfriend. 80s were fucking wild.
This episode is based off of the Ski School movie which stars one of the episodes guest stars.
I like how Dennis asked for his skis to be sharpened
I'm an 80's baby so this episode was my childhood...
I think this is spoofing a whole era rather than a single movie, but to point to one, it would be Ski School (1990) perhaps? the main character of that is the guy in the wig in this episode
Thr spying on naked ladies as a prank is straight from the 80s movie revenge of the nerds
The guy that plays Drisko was the main protagonist in Ski School, which this episode is referencing the most. But there were probably a dozen other movies with the same theme but a different setting.
Sorry life has been so chaotic. For what it's worth, I really applaud you for the consistent uploads!
Guys we are so close to the burbs ep
Of course Dennis would like Dennis.
I think they’re referencing 80’s movies in general. It’s worth noting South Park had a similarly great 80’s ski episode called Asspen.
Porkys is a big series of movie that was referenced by the peephole scene
South Park did an episode just like this too haha, one of their best
Stan Darsh
Only when you are clean will you know my power.
"But you will be clean!"
When they were peeping at the girls through the holes in the wall they were spoofing a very inappropriate 80s movie called "PORKY'S"
"Out Cold" is like that, but it might be the last of many -- first time I saw Zach Galifinakis too. I loved that movie back then. I doubt it holds up.
Genius episode, 80s throw backs is hilarious and if you've watched the Film Ski School it definitely makes it more hilarious
I feel you man lately it seems there’s not enough hours in the day
Their commentary on similar 80s movies is so good lmao. Especially pointing out how horrible the sexual misconduct is.
Mac finally did a backflip
This is my favorite episode. I always watch it on Delta flights 😂
I like the 80’s movies that came out in the 70’s…those was da best ones!! 🤪🤪🤪🤪 I gotta poop
The best ski resort party movie is Out Cold, one of Zach Galifianakis's first movies.
Great episode. Also fun fact the guy who played Turkey is Chris Farley’s younger brother Kevin
This episode always reminded me of the comedy film “out cold” just… with a less painful hot tub scene
Hyped opening to the episode elevated further by Mac's trench coat.
One of the very, very few moments in the series Mac is genuinely a badass lol.
the end is a parody of tanner hall chads broken ankles clip
Go take a look at the Porky's movie poster for one of the spoofs.
As we all know the reverse version of peeping tom is reverse porkey's from community
I thought it was cricket to. I was gonna lose it.
Good luckmwith the job and new apartment, that is definitely a chaotic time, you'll get through it!
Glenn is too good
This is based on 80 's movies like ski school and better off dead at the end.
Is is just me or is the show audio incedible low? I
Basically Out Cold
Mountain rules babyyyyyyyy!!!!
Reminds me much about Aaspen the South Park episode
3:55 Johnny Tsunami
turkey is chris farleys brother.
You gotta increase the volume of the show. I have co-worker hearing you yelling lol
I get that it's a parody but there is no way that Mac has any experience skiing
Watch a movie called better off dead which is also about skiing
The episode reminds me of Out Cold
12:18 is actually referencing this event: ruclips.net/video/6SaLA1CyQk8/видео.html
Hot dog the movie with some porkys sprinkled on top
Top 10 episode imo
The one thing holding this channel back is the sound balancing and awful echo.
Volume please sir 😢
Another one of my favs
RENT MONEY!!!
For whatever reason (cocaine), there were so many ski movies in the 80's. That's all this is referencing. That and other offensive by today's standards teen sex comedies from the era, like Porky's.
Dennis is probably the funniest character of all time
Completely forgot that s11 had a decent episode.
That episode reminds me of an episode of Fresh Prince 😅😂
peeping pam....maybe
