This is such a great, informative video. I love approaching healthy living in a positive way, focusing on what to do as opposed to what to avoid. And, anything that can keep hunger at bay!
I really love your channel, because your a professional in this field; a nutritionist, and not some want-to-be, but the best part of all, is that your not bias, not fixed on some diet. You also give the reason why the food is so good for you, not just say that it is.
Thanks so much. I really believe that there is no one diet for everyone. I just wrote an instagram post about this and how I eat the one diet that no one else eats : The Joy McCarthy diet. Thanks for your comment!
Does it matter if the tahini is raw or made from toasted sesame seeds? I struggle with that. I would prefer to buy raw but it’s more expensive. (Also, that’s good to know about olive oil. I never heard that.)
Wow loved the video. Fats are my favourite nutrients because its soo satisfying especially during hormonal imbalance situations , plus they taste amazing! Can you please do good quality protein foods? I am always seem to lack in protein due to my main sources of nutrients are fats and carbohydrates
Really need some recommendations of olive oil that can be heated. Is it the more expensive the more stable when used to fry food? Any kind or brands could you recommend? Thanks a lot.
Great video. I love avocados. I know I’d probably be slightly slimmer if I didn’t have them but they have too many health benefits not to include them.
I didn't mention this in my video, but when I was fat phobic and was obsessed with all things low-fat I was heavier than I am now :) I'm my healthiest I've ever been and a big part of this is the healthy fats I eat.
Avocados are typically a low spray food and they have a thick skin which would make them less likely to have pesticide residue. That being said, I personally still buy organic avocados when I can because they just taste better. Same with sesame oil, I buy organic oil. The other consideration is that non-organic oils will not have the same restrictions for any additives used to help press the oil. That's my long-winded answer of saying you can buy non-organic, but typically I do not :)
@@aimeerivera6625 It's not a dumb question. Oxidized means that the oil has been affected by an energy source and been damaged, in this case, the energy is oxygen. You'll know typically when a fat or oil has gone rancid because it has an unpleasant smell or taste.
I love how you don't demonize fats! There are some awesome healthy ones. I love cooking avocado oil!
Never, long live fat! Fat is a very important macronutrient. :) Me too.

Glad you enjoyed it! Agreed, fat is super important to feel satisfied.

Truly you are my inspiration Joy
Avocado is also hydrating as there is water in it. I can eat one whole thing at a time.

I've got a whole series coming up :) Next week will be part 2 of fats, then protein and then the week after that will be complex carbs.
It’s impossible for me to eat only half of an avocado. I’ve tried. It’s my desert island food!
If you feel great eating that amount -- no belly ache, you are healthy and well, then go for it.

I really love Acropolis Organics, they are my favourite brand and I cook with it too.

Joyous Health thank you for sharing that. Very glad to have found your channel.

Roast a 1/3 of the almonds for flavor and keep the rest raw.☺
Great suggestion :)

Hi can I ask should avocado and sesame oil be organic too?

Joyous Health that’s very informative! I will stick to buying organic as much as I can then, many thanks!
🥰🥰🥰
Ive been told that ground flax seeds oxidized quickly, is that true?
Noa REntsler yes this is true, especially when ground. I keep them in the freezer. Best to buy them whole and grind as needed.
Noa REntsler my question may be stupid but what does "oxidize" mean? They go bad quickly?

Joyous Health ohhh ok got it! Thank you for taking the time to reply 🤗 I keep mine in the fridge so I should be good then ☺️
