Sometimes the worst monster you can encounter is man itself, specifically those who are far too involved in the dangerous work of science that they become responsible for some horrific things! Video games give us plenty of those!

Alex Rochon is an incredibly talented actor.
This is not the first time. He also made an appearance in Top 10 Pyromancers
Hearing the Autarch of Flame I watched years ago being a VA, brings a nostalgic tear to my eye.
At first I thought it was lines in RE5 since I’ve never played it but after the 3rd quote I realized that was for the video. Alex is great at his acting imo.
@@lord_bonemanhe’s Caine in the amazing digital circus, man how far Alex has come
I think what shows Maruki's conflicting ideal is the return of Akechi. Maruki brings Akechi back because Joker thinks that he is the only soul he couldn't save as a Phantom Thief. Yet, Akechi doesn't want that. He knows that he is just a puppet, which is the reason why he is willing to fight against Maruki with his full strength. In this moment, Joker's and Akechi's wishes clash in a way, that Maruki is unable to solve with his powers alone - if he let's Akechi live to please Joker, he will openly act against Akechi's own wish. But if he kills/removes Akechi, then he will not fulfill Joker's wish. And the fact, that he chooses Joker's wish as more important brings up a lot of questions: did he do this because he knew Joker better (Maruki never had a therapy session with Akechi after all) or maybe there was a part inside of him that wanted to remove the biggest threat to his new world, the Phantom Thieves.
As Adam Savage once said, "I reject your reality and substitute my own."

Hearing Alex Rochon as Wesker was quite the surprise for me, and this is the guy who voices Caine in The Amazing Digital Circus for crying out loud.
Wesker: YOU!!! Do you like adventure?! Activity?! Drama?! Anger?! Death?! Disease?! Angle food cake?
Chris: nom
Wesker: YOU PARASITE!!!
Well…Oscar DOES have connections here. He’s buds with Joshscorcher and Josh in turn is buds with Alex.

How genuinely poetic that Wesker's entry is simultaneously an acknowledgement of his incredible power and intellect as well as a scatching, pulverising takedown of his cartoonishly ridiculous ego.
Fabulous!

You may have forgotten to mention that the Medic also surgically added 8 souls to himself. And take a guess where those souls came from.
He used his comrades to outwit Satan himself
not to mention IMPLANTED MEGA BABOON UTERUSES TO THE GRAVEL CO MERCS a.k.a the TFC mercs
Fun fact alternate Dr. Neferious and Medic are both voiced by the same guy. Wonder what would happen when you put them both together?
Chaos. Absolute chaos.
Nefarious is just Rise of the Robots medic.
I’m so glad Coleress got mentioned because I find him so interesting. While N leans more towards sympathetic(the Yang) and Ghetsis the pure evil(the yin) Coleress is a perfect middle.
Also in Masters he’s not really aligned to anyone but the others basically have to play babysitter to make sure he behaves. He still does insane research for them but he will also chase people down to experiment with their sync pair bonds or have to be reminded by N to focus when they are fighting Giovanni’s army of legendary wielding men and he gets distracted by wanting to perform tests. Even his voice seems robotic unless it’s about research which is cool
I honestly thought for the pokemon entry, you would pick the professor from Scarlet and Violet. They were in heavy research of the past/future, thought it'll be a great idea to bring said pokemon to our time with little to no care of the effects on the environment, build an android replica that looks like them to help out on the research, abandoned their only family to pursue said research which led to their own death. That is one messed up professor.
And as we saw in the climax had back up protocols to ensure NOBODY could stop their life's work even after their death.

I see Wesker lost the edgelord contest to a rodent with a gun and took that personally.
1:00:38 Problem: Maruki literally has the power of God on his side. So despite what you said, Wesker would literally have no experience fighting a true God.
Of COURSE number 1 had to be Wesker. Who else could it have been? Good to see Maruki in here too... RIP Billy Kametz, gone too soon but never forgotten.
3:43 "Pull the lever, Comic! *click* WRONG LEVEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRR!"
*kersplash*
"Why do we even have that lever?"
Seeing him in part of it, I was a bit surprised that Seath the Scaleless didn't make the list. I mean, it's not often that you see a dragon given intelligence, over the mindless beast trope. Then again, he might have been more akin to an alchemist rather than a scientist, especially since he's after something that man has desired from the start - immortality.
But a good list with some surprises in there.
Dang it Wesker, you didn’t let Oscar give us his hint for the next Countdown!
Not only the number one mad scientist but also the most EVIL.
He had to be evil for another few seconds
21:52 not gonna talk about how he was also researching the legendary Pokémon Zygarde and has an item that allows the collection of Zygarde so you can combine the pieces into basically the god of balance and nature
Maruki is definitely more an antagonist than straight up villain tbh. Also villain and antagonist isn’t a “all squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares” thing exactly yes it does have that vibe if you think about it but it’s not exactly the same, I hope that makes sense. This logic if you think about it also applies to protagonist and hero
Imo it's about intent. Villains have evil intent and bad intent. Antagonist simply push the story forward and are at odds with the protagonist. But maybe aren't evil deep down. That's Maruki
@@CrazeeAdamyeah
In my mind, it's true that science, once it becomes too advanced for human understanding, is indistinguishable from magic.
On the other hand, the other side is true as well. Magic, with enough of an explanation on how it works, is indistinguishable from science
49:16
Even I gotta admit; that was actually very slick on Eggman's part. Tails definitely ain't living that L down
I'll be completely honest... THAT was an amazing Wesker impression.
That wasn't an impression, it was his real voice actor!
@@gimmeyourrights8292 Actually that was Alex, not D.C. Douglas.
In the IDW comics, Eggman loses his memory and becomes a good person called Mr Tinker, who genuinely wants to help others.
The thing is, even after his memory is restored and Eggman goes back to his normal routine, it's clear he actually liked being Mr Thinker and even seems wishful about that life showing that he could be good if he wanted to do but his own ego will never let accept such a life
If I had a nickel for every time Alex voiced the number one entry for a Green Scorpion count down. I'd have two. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
What was the other time?

Shout out to Mother Miranda from RE8 too. She basically inspired Oswald E. Spencer to found the Umbrella Corporation. Had it not been for her influence, we may have never gotten Wesker to begin with.
Regarding Maruki, HAVE YOU SEEN THE KIND OF BULLCRAP HUMANITY IS CAPABLE OF SOMETIMES!?!?
He’s not perfect, but he’s still kinda right.
*Sees number 2*
Who the hell could top that?!
*Sees number 1*
Oh yeaaaaaaah...Forgot about you
My thoughts exactly
Do you think Maruki's entry would've been enhanced with a mention of how he got that mindset to flee from pain? That his fiancée and her family got assaulted in her home, her parents got killed and she was badly traumatized, and Maruki was so anguished over seeing her in pain that he decided to use cognitive psience to wipe her memory of the incident, which had the side effect of wiping her memory of him? And the fact that the love of his life doesn't remember him any more just led him to bury down all his pain?
Maybe not because a tragic backstory isn't that necessary for a "mad scientist", but it is something to chew over, another example of good intentions gone wrong.
slight correction. It wasn't an active choice at the time. His fiancé's memory being wiped was a subconscious activation of his Persona before he fully awakened to it.
Actually fun fact: You can stop Mordin from curing the genophage but it requires you to kill Wrex and delete the data which will cause Bakara to die during the process. If you have enough morality you can convince Mordin that Wreav hasn't seen the errors of his species ways and if the war against the reapers is won then Wreav would just instantly start another war but this time the galaxy would be crippled which would more than likely guarantee the krogans victory.
Ah, so that's why you needed Purah fanarts from twitter [sorry the one i offered was rather old, I haven't had a reason to draw her really lately]
So a quick clarification for all y'all:
The thumbnail of this video was done by Sheikah Arts. Ignis is shown in the intro, but that's because I failed to update my intro accordingly ever since I hired two new artists. Expect an update to the intro in the near future.

correction, but the IDW comics are in fact canon to the games
it has been confirmed several times that the games, IDW and even Prime share the same universe
Great video as always. Personally, I would put William Afton (aka the Purple Guy) from the FNAF. The man created killing machines in form of child entertainment to kill children to basically grind a substance made of bad feelings. He definitely fits the bill of mad scientist
Yeah, Afton’s a good one. We had him on our list of considerations, he just didn’t hit Top 10 for us.
Number 3: Sorry, Doctor, but it's YOU who's getting the second opinion!
I just finished Stellar Blade yesterday, so I do have a suggestion for an honorable mention, but it very spoiler heavy, so read at your own discretion.
In the game's backstory, there was a genius named Raphael Marks. The head of Eidos created an AI named Mother Sphere to protect and guide mankind into its next stage of evolution. Mother Sphere's answer... was to redefine what "human" meant, and replace organic humans with human-like robots called Andro-Eidos. The war between organic and bio-mechanical ended with the organic humans being forced underground, with the Andro-Eidos taking the place of humans (with Mother Sphere altering their memories so that they think they were always human, which carried on into the game's present day).
Raphael Marks was among the surviving humans. In the hopes of retaking the surface, he created a new AI named Raffy, and the two would begin genetically altering human subjects in a way that would make Umbrella proud. Every remaining human became the monstrous beings dubbed Naytibas, with Marks becoming the Elder Naytiba. Unfortunately for Marks, almost every other Naytiba became non-sentient and violent, meaning he had effectively killed humanity twice over.
By the time of the game proper, he is trying a new solution: combine Naytiba with Andro-Eidos to create a true successor for mankind. While definitely trying to do what he thinks is the right solution, his methods are still very dubious at best. His earliest attempts, the Alpha Naytiba, failed save for the exception of Orcal. Then he tried to convince Raven, an Airborne Squad member who was unraveling the true history of humanity, to help in in his endeavor. Unfortunately, Raven was too consumed with hatred for Mother Sphere and her own kind, so she fully believed she was helping him but the Elder Naytiba suggests she was simply focusing on revenge. Finally, he handpicks and silently guides the main character, EVE... under the guise of Adam, her main ally through most of the game.
Now, Adam does do genuinely good and well-intentioned things throughout the game, namely collecting hyper cells to power the city of Xion. I do believe he is being genuine about humanity's survival be they organic or robotic, and is perfectly understanding if EVE choses not to fuse with him (well, boss fight not withstanding). But that doesn't change the fact he created not one but two AI, oversaw genetic experiments, was the first successful subject of said experiments, and planned to fuse himself with EVE, all of which was for some sort of forced evolution.
I genuinely believe he'd make it pretty high on the list by scope of his actions alone, particularly with how every time he tried to fix a previous mistake it just made even more of a mess.
Y'know what, I keep forgetting amidst the memes and such that number 1 actually was a scientist. Perhaps the questionable fashion choices threw me off.
The Medic's got to be in here, especially with all the stuff he pulls in the comics. Looking forward to the vid!
Another thing about Maruki's Persona. Its name is Azathoth, being known as the Blind Idiot god. The reason is that he is sleeping, and his dreams are our reality. Should he ever awaken, our reality cease to exist.
#10: The fact that Medic straight up states to Heavy that he LOST his Medical license is a good reason to put him on this list
#9: Always glad to see when an amoral asshole gets hoisted by their own petard like Suchong did
#8: Morally good Mad Scientists. Always nice to see a concept kinda flipped on its head
#7: Part of me wonders of Colress worked for or has some connection with Team Cipher in the Orre region games with his philosophy on Pokémon Training. This idea that they're just useful tools for battle needed to be made stronger, even if love and friendship is part of that
#6: Kinda sad that Wily isn't gonna be on the list...but Dr. Nefarious is awesomely hilarious enough
#5: As you got to bringing up Oppenheimer with this entry, I found myself saying out loud "Now I am become Death, destroyer of worlds"
#4: FUUUUUUUCK this guy! I hate him! I mean I love that I hate him, but I REALLY hate him!
#3: I think that it's very funny that a man who was as ignorant to the idea of free will as Maruki got a persona who was created by someone as ignorant about how the real world works as Lovecraft
#2: Even if he's not #1, I think that Eggman is DEFINITELY the most "mad" of the Mad Scientists on this list just because of how diverse his personality has been all over, not to mention - like you said - the way he fits almost the same traits of the previous entries
#1: This video...will be unleashed onto the internet...ensuring complete...DIGITAL...SATURATION! (Also the fact that you've still got connections with Alex even while he's working on Amazing Digital Circus is just SO FREAKING COOL!)

Nice list. Other mad scientist I can think of is either Jade or Pascal from the Tales of series or Dr Bosconovich from Tekken.
Wesker would probably solo all Eggman's robots, the Shadow Androids, Shadow himself, and reverse engineer the Metal Virus doing with it what Eggman couldn't, perfecting a means of control for it, then mock Eggman calling both him and Professor Gerald hacks at engineering bioweapons
13:36 I wouldn't strictly call that Purah's fault(that being said, I strongly disapprove of guardian tech. Weapons of peace tend to become weapons of oppression). Yes, she worked on that project, but both she and Zelda were just two of many that dismissed Ganon as mindless. No plan survives first contact with an enemy. The guardians may have worked ten thousand years ago, but it was never going to work twice.
Colress would love Infinite Fusion, but even he would question some of the results that feature references to other franchises, the abominations of Miltank and Pinsir fusions that makes him want to kill with a Fire Type Pokémon, or some... raunchy results...
Also, keep Colress away from Legendarues, that's a road he does not want to cross.
want to say i appreciate the spoiler warnings for certain entries so many people will look and a game and say eh been long enough and not bother and it always sucks when i randomly get spoiled for a game i hadnt been able to get around to
If there was ever a death battle I wanted Wesker to be in, it would definitely be in a fight with Green Goblin from Spider-Man. Because Norman Osborn is about the only mad mind I know of that can even be remotely equivalent to Wesker’s vanity….not Lex Luthor or Dr Doom though, their egos are so huge that they flat out get their own tiers in vanity.
I know this is a game countdown, but I need to give a quick shout-out to Shockwave from Transformers.

For me it's Izuka from the Tellius games, as he turns laguz feral, turned Ashnard's son into his personal mount, and turned Elincia's uncle Renning into Bertram.
Kokonoe Mercury - Blazblue
Relius is the more obvious pick and I did write a comment earlier about it, but I think Kokonoe is a better person, she's not perfect mind you but she does try. She went into science because her mother was a sorceress who was killed by Terumi, and her father a literal cat wasn't the best dad but yet she still tries to keep the family memorabilia as much as she can. Her labcoat is actually a Kaka clan cloak, the same clan her father was a part of and her finisher is a sciency version of her mother's. Her mother summons meteors to rain down upon the battlefield, while Kokonoe uses machines to drag a meteor down to the planet. As far as inventions, you have Iron Tager, the reprogramming of Lambda-11 and a lot of her attacks basically combine science with magic. I also like her personality, she can be blunt and sarcastic but when you get to know her she can be a compassionate individual. She's my second favorite Blazblue character and my personal pick for my Gaming Mad Scientist.
And Yuri from Red Alert 2 (and Mental Omega)
Personal honorable mention: Dr. Coyle from Arms. Introduced in version 5 and called also The Rad Scientist which, first off, great pun there. Being one of ARMS Labs most... ambitious scientists, her hobby is also her job, making it what Biff refers to as an obsession. And like all of the scientists on the list, she is defined by what she creates. Them being a DNA slime thingy called Helix, a full robot version of Spring Man, and a freaky looking robot head of a cyber arm called Lokjaw. But she's also a rather proactive scientist similar to Wesker, even kicking Max Brass' ass in seconds, and rocking a purple, green and gold aesthetic with crazy flair. Her playstyle centers around her maneuverability, capable of flight and teleportation unique to the other ARMS fighters, and more aggression given her ability to duplicate arms. And beyond her explosion based Lokjaw, she also has an electric Parabola and an ice based Brchuck. But it is her last known creation that gives Coyle her title... her masterpiece Hedlok. This freaky tiki can control ARMS users while replicating their arms too. And in the Grand Prix where she is the final boss, she WILLINGLY lets Hedlok fuse with her, only to throw a tantraum and smash it herself if she loses! While she's more obscure than most of these mad scientists, due to Arms not being as big a name as Sonic the Hedgehog or Ratchet and Clank, she's still one of the more unique ones. Similar to Wesker, or another honorable mention Kokonoe from Blazblue, my favorite part about her is that she is a scientist who is also a great fighter, going beyond the stereotype of the passive genius while using her creativity to her benefit. Her theme song, Name Redacted, is as catchy as it is ominous, mixing rock and roll with chilling vocals, some of which I wonder if they are provided by her voice actress, Donna Bu-wait, WHAT??! Donna Burke?? The original Angela Orosco? Claudia Wolf? Freaking iDROID??? The singer of Snake Eater and Gods And Men?!! That might be the craziest thing about the Rad Scientist!
I’m surprised that you didn’t mention hojo’s boss battle. Every time you strike him down, he mutates into something FAR worse. Remake part 3 is going to have an Ao rating from the visuals alone.
Your countdowns are the best on RUclips (in my opinion), would love to see you do video game dinosaurs and/or kaiju!
36:37 The FF7 Abridged insert killed me, FF7 Abridged is way, way, way too funny
Honorable mention :
Ayin - Lobotomy Corporation
One Good Deed and Hundreds of Sins
(Because speaking more about Ayin would spoil the entirety of Lobotomy Corp, I chose not to talk more, in fact play the game yourself, it'll only take a few "hours")
Kinda sad that the founder of a Corporation based around Lobotomies isn't on the list, given everything "A" did during the backstory of the game. But given how explaining the background behind Project Moon's first major game can sometimes take as long as this entire countdown, I'm not surprised...especially because they're a somewhat niche game company to begin with.
MORDIN SOLUS!? I didn't know you even cared for him!! That's Awesome! I love you, he's one of my favorite characters in Gaming
Mmm with Maruki. "Villain" to me is characterized by evil "intent". Maruki's intent is not evil in itself. To me he is an antagonist. But not necessairly a villain.
Great video! Was bit sad to not see Anton Sokolov or Kirin Jindosh. But I love you placing Albert Wesker at number one! P.S. Sorry to be pedantic here, but the Ubermensch in Nietzsche's philosophy was more about moral superiority and not living by everyone else's rules, and it had very little to do with genetics. Eugenicists and the Nazis just cherry-picked some terms from Nietzsche and put their own twisted spin on it. Believe me: I have read quite a bit of Nietzsche: so I know.
Also fun fact I forgot to mention : this video was uploaded on my birthday!
HE'S MADE ANOTHER ONE....FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
Lol respect and keep up the epic work.
Hojo..... one of the most evil characters in existence, and the true villain of 7. yeah, Sephiroth and Jenova need to be stopped, but it's thanks to him they're a threat to begin with
I'm now curious about Dr. Eggman's parents and what they were like.
This is the top 10 Mad Scientists! What could possibly go wrong? *the entire lab explodes* WHO PRESSED THE RED BUTTON?!?
I hope Professor Klaus from Xenoblade makes this list. He doesn't have much screen time, but his influence is felt all throughout the series.
While I agree, we just don't see as much science out of him as other characters.

@@Atlas_Vane okay, maybe he isn't quite so "mad" as "evil"
One more worthy of a look is Wilhelm Totenkopf Strasse, AKA General Deathshead, specifically looking at his work in Wolfenstein: The New Order. IYKYK
Some candidates I can think of:
Singed: League of Legends, though he was in the list of poison users who knows how long ago.
Izuka: Fire Emblem Radiant dawn. I think his experiments with the feral ones should be self-explanitory
Kid Danger: *wearing his mighty pup movie outfit crying* that poor puppy! *crys*
Honorable mentions is Dr. Klamp from Parasite Eve 1 and Águila Setme of The School from the Super Robot Taisen Original Generation series.
Oscar, I get you don't like the Wii U, but I honestly still believe the concept wasn't that bad. Besides, you gotta give it some credit, if it weren't for the Wii U, we likely never would've gotten the Switch. And, come on, we all know how loved the Switch has become, and it certainly was well deserved. Basically, Nintendo decided not to do what Sony and Microsoft did and still allow local wireless and wired system linking on their consoles, which definitely is good for consumers, whereas the latter two decided to nickel and dime you just to play the latest games with friends and family, with no option for local play other than paying up for online features that most people couldn't care for.
Edit: Okay, that was unexpected. An Ari cameo in here, definitely wasn't expecting that.
Imagine if Maruki & Madara teamed up... Oh the devastation!
Surprised at no Neo Cortex. He's not overly complicated and wouldn't be too high but i expected him anyway.
Honestly surprised you picked Wesker over Birkin. Yeah Wesker is intelligent, but we don't often see him as a Mad Scientist in the games, while Birikin is always shown as the crazy scientist.
Wesker has managed to do the craziest thing yet on one of these countdowns: take over the ending and steal our chance at a 'what's coming up next' hint. Truly, the maddest of all mad scientists.
A really interesting and good video.
Surprised Professor E. Gadd didn’t get an honourable mention.
There is no great genius without some touch of madness.

Given the Eggman segment I’m surprised you didn’t go into much detail about the Zombots..
He apparently isn't on the know that the IDW comics are canonical to the overall game franchise right now. So he probably left that out.
After putting Barabtos on a list, I wonder if Harold from Tales of Destiny 2 is here.
Man, I wish I’d caught this list live. It might be the record for the highest number of series I know or characters I’ve heard of/predicted actually making the list.
If Dr Eggman and Neo Cortex aren't on this, I'm gonna puke
What does half a puke look like?
Number 3 is the first character in a long time that actually made me feel disappointed to be fighting against. I knew about the general idea of his story and I still felt gutted when I had to fight him especially when him and the player are just fist fighting at the end of the final battle.
Some examples that I can think of:
Mao (from Disgaea 3): Mad scientist Main Character? That's new. And he has a compelling backstory to boot.
Dr. Huesca (from Master Detectives Archives: Raincode): Dude created a zombie apocalypse, yet also managed to make said zombies rational (most of the time).
Akemi Suedou (from Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth): Accidentally created the Eaters? Time to experiment! Cyber-Space is fusing with the Real World? Time to experiment! Gets eaten and fused with Yggdrassil (the DIgital World Goddess)? You guessed it! Time to experiment!
Lemon Browning (from Super Robot Wars): Alternate Universe counterpart to a Main Character that decided to turn evil and created the strongest, sexiest mecha pilot to exist. She started her project with one bio-engineered soldier, however, after seeing how long said soldier would take to grow she decided to move on to create robots with sentience.
Oh God yes with Suedou.
Mad Scientist are a cliche because they work.
My list of honorable mentions:
Blazblue: Kokonoe and Relius Clover.
Call of Duty: Dragovich, Kravchenko and Steiner.
Cave Story: The Doctor.
Darkest Dungeon: The Ancestor.
Doom: Olivia Pierce.
Dragon Age: Caradin, Branka, Avernus, The Architect.
Hitman: Dr. Ort-Meyer.
Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak: David Callaghan
Mass Effect: Daro’Xen, Henry Lawson.
Rain Code: Dr. Huesca.
Mega Man: Dr. Weil.
Prototype: Alex Mercer.
Wolfenstein: Dr Wilhelm Strasse.
Xenoblade: Klaus/Zanza.
Okay...Who is that with a bolter at Wesker's neck? Why is't the Emperor of Mankind. Yeah, Wesker thinks he's the only one to represent the evolution of humanity...He's not.
40:36- I cast Detect Magic on the supercomputer: nothing happens.
I cast Detect Magic on the enchanted supercomputer: it glows!
I scry for magic phenomenon: don't see the alien fleet overhead, but do see some nymphs in a stream.
I scry for alien phenomenon: I see the alien fleet overhead, but unfortunately miss the nymphs.
Now that you mention it colress would have been PERFECT to show up during area zero either with nemona and the rest or in the dlc with the siblings
when you started talking about pokemon, I immediately thought you were going to talk about Dr. Kaminko from xd and all his weird, mostly useless inventions, like the "energy-saving" fridge that only turns on when someone's in front of it so they never figure out why the food inside keeps spoiling, or the unhealthy sandals
also i'm surprisedyou didn't crack about all those egg puns at the end of number 2
Second comment... I can tell it's Alex, GOOD SHIT! We love seeing an awesome VA represent. XD
I think Otto from psychonauts 2 is a mad scientist, who is more or less a good guy, but the fact that he basically left one of his friends brain in a jar for decades without checking it and created device that basically turned his friend into a psycho who destroyed her country
Good, well thought out list as usual, Scorpion!
Made me think a lot about the nature of the archetype in general, and I've always admired the easy way you can do that with the examples you discuss.
I think my personal favorite would be Dr. Moira Vahlen from XCOM:Enemy Unknown.
She may not be as powerful or clearly "mad" as most of the entries on this list... but she feels so REAL, almost as though Victor Frankenstein was a personal friend that was helping out your team, teetering on the edge of abandoning all morality. It scary to have such a monster on YOUR side.
The Commander, Bradford, and Dr. Shen are there to keep her in check, and the nature of XCOM itself is a delicate balance between learning from your terrible alien foes, and becoming the monsters you are fighting... but I've never forgotten the autopsy and interrogation sessions she stars in. There's a childlike desire to know everything there, but a terrifying conviction in her methods and willingness to do some CLEARLY screwed up things in the name of science is sobering.
If she wasn't so squeamish about explosives, she'd be a perfect specimen of mad science herself.
