- We enjoy a ride on this Virginia Railway Express train to the last stop. We capture highlights along with the radio traffic that is transmitted by VRE as well as Amtrak and NS trains. Traveling on this railroad with a scanner really gives you a complete picture as to what is going on around these rails. You will hear VRE, Amtrak, and NS trains making their presence felt
I am impressed with your knowledge of the trains and the many areas that you rail fan and travel through.
How did you become so knowledgeable.
Hard to say. It’s amazing what you can learn if you have the interest
So happy you went on my home train line.
I was wondering when you planned on doing a VRE video. Amtrak and VRE seemed really tight before COVID-19 hit. VRE used to allow Amtrak riders to travel on their trains and you could even flag stop certain Amtrak NE Regional trains at L’Enfant Station. So much changed in 3 years, jeez
I’ve never ridden the VRE in my life! It’s time to change it
Great video by the way
Why does the locomotive engineer need to call out the signals? Shouldn't the signal operator already know what the signal is?
Added safety and alertness factor
Awesome
I rode the Chicago train. the seats move back and forth. Metro Trains
Tim, I too love the radio chatter. I wish you could use your scanner on the LIRR, Metro NORTH, SEPTA and N. J. Transit. Amtrak and the MBTA would be nice too. I know you're concerned about annoying other passengers. But I've heard some very annoying passengers and kids on some videos.
Well, those annoying passengers were accidents without a scanner. I just hate to think what they would be like if I had one.
Are you headed up to MA this weekend? If so I may be able to railfan.
Not until next week
@@3985uprr when next week? Would love to meet up!
I’ll be on the property Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday but I’ll be bouncing around a lot so I really couldn’t tell you where I would be at any one time. I’ll tell you that I am spending a couple of nights in Mansfield.
Out of curiosity, do you ever find climbing up the stairs in the gallery cars to the second level irritating at all?
Not really. One must be careful of course.
I'm impressed with how clean their cars and engines look, but the train ran rather slowly. How does their double-decker car compare with the LIRR's?
They are higher than LIRR. Easier to climb.
@@3985uprrhow about compared with the NJT Multilevels?
@@MidnightAspec Thank you for using the correct terminology. Yes, it's Multilevel cars, not double deckers.
