Bolt on rock sliders. Now I have to weld them to my truck's chassis.

- It took a long time to order my rock sliders from Roack Road Outfitters in Utah and then get them installed. I really like the rock sliders, but not very happy with the installation. My solution is to weld my rock sliders to my truck. Have I totally lost my mind or do I have a reasonable excuse?
Howdy. I didn’t realize we had a RUclips star in our shop today. Looking forward to the vids.
Hello, Javier. I don't know about being a RUclips star. I really appreciate the work your shop does and has done for me in the past. I probably should have made a video when I went to Ray's Auto Service in Dublin. I have been lazy on the video productions, lately. I am glad I took the opportunity to visit your shop while being back in town! Hope to be back on the road and making more videos soon.
We loved the Colorado. Excellent setup
Thanks!
Iam hoping to get out on the road like you and been looking at the colorado for my tow rig. Safe rving
Hey there, Mitch. The Colorado has its limitations. The rear leaf springs are definitely lacking for full time towing.
Like what you have done to the truck. How much are you towing?
Thanks, Mitch. I am towing about 4,500 lbs. I am not at max CGVW but pretty close. I definitely carry cargo in the bed.
Excelent video. Are you still sure that it's unlikely there will be 4 wheeling around SF?
Hey there, Kevin. I hear ya. There is BLM, OHV, and forest. But as far as stuff nearby, it's mostly shopping malls.
mario are you happy with the way your colorado pulls your trailer ?
Hello, Mitch. Yes, I am happy and a little surprised how well it performs. Would I like it to be more powerful, better fuel economy, and handle better in the turns? Sure, all of that would be great. Bottom line, it does the job and I think I ask a lot of it when you consider its size and weight. Also, I did modify the suspension and I may look to improving the suspension even more in the future.
Hi Mario. Just checking in to see how you're doing. Hope you're doing okay, John.
Hey there, John. The other day I tested positive for COVID and my surgery has been postponed. To answer your question, I am doing very good, all things considered. The question in my head has been how long my recovery for surgery would be. Instead, I just keep gaining weight lounging around.
@@MarioWorkedOnIt I know the feeling - Best laid plans, then life gets in the way. I'm sure good times will be ahead!
Where are the new videos? How's your health?
Hey there, Kevin. I have been slacking on the videos. Still have not had surgery. It was scheduled on the 12th but I got COVID a week prior and they canceled the surgery. So yeah, have not been accomplishing too much lately. But I am doing real good now. Just need to get back working at things.
@@MarioWorkedOnIt Take care of your health and get back out on the road. I'm sure it was nice to get some home base time. Get out wheeling some or ride the mountain bike. Find the Jaguarundi in California!!!
how much are you towing?
Hello, Mitch. The Geo Pro that I tow is about 4,500 lbs with a tank of fresh water and all my stuff inside. I doubt it ever gets above 4,700 lbs
Instead of welding it, why didn’t you just buy grade 8 hardware and replace it? Unless I am missing something, this makes no sense.
What a hack job
Hey there, Marcus. I have to say, I was not perfectly happy with the install. Having said that, I am now satisfied the sliders will function and perform well.
It was not a hack jaw. Doofus, all the boats provided were from Rocky Road and they were used properly.
