This has happened to me with jobs. I see co-workers all the time, we get along, next thing I know, I'm on to another job or they are, it's weirded me out many a time. Apparently the only thing we had in common was the job. A very sad realization. There have been very few exceptions, but otherwise I guess that kind of acquaintance wasn't meant to last.
I did 5 summers of summer stock in an Equity residential company. 8 shows in 10 weeks.. very intense.. At the end of the summer, it was over. Close as can be all summer.. then everyone goes in different directions.. the first 2 seasons.. it was hard to get used to.. after that... expected

Sometimes it depends upon whether or not that "job" is a career or not.
