absolutely fantastic album, have had it on repeat since it came out. really feel like bea is coming out of herself more with each release and is really showing off new facets of her songwriting pretty consistently! love this band

Ever since I changed my life and started investing in deez nuts, I have been able to finally focus and really make some extra money because something about deez nuts. I dont know. I am sorry bro. This album hits so much harder after you realize that she had a breakup of a 7 year relationship.

@@ginguu2490 I think it was way more than that. It seems like he became distant with their long distance relationship, not putting in the effort to call or talk, disappearing all the time. It seems like she was in love, and he didn’t love her the same amount, maybe got bored and was fed up with having to deal with her problems. Which is definitely shitty. In an unreleased song she said:
“He left me with no answers
Ten minutes before my show
So I got on a plane for nine hours
Just to cry all the way home”
Then later in this song she talks about how she moves on very quickly and met a new guy after Soren broke her heart. There’s definitely way more to this than what we know, and it’s speculated that she was in an open relationship with Soren aware of this. But in so many of her songs there are signs of their relationship falling apart and them holding it together for comfort. With lines talking about how she’s hurt him with her words, but he’s hurt her more. Him becoming increasingly distant while she’s still deeply in love. Especially 1999 and How Was Your Day. Not to mention that Fake it Flowers has so many hints on them falling apart. Relationships are complicated and I think that there’s more to it than just “she cheated” or “he left”. It’s also good that they’re apart since they seem happier separated.
@@ginguu2490 I think that in order to comment on a celebrities life, we would need information from both sides, and it’s pretty obvious that they’re not going to explain their entire relationship. So we shouldn’t be rushing to conclusions that one person is worse than the other or one did worse things.
Relationships have ups and downs, arguments, loss of love, temptation, etc. With speculation of a one sided open relationship, that implies that Soren was aware and okay with it. It also seems like their problems stemmed before this happened, all the way back to “Loveworm” in 2019.
The song you’re talking about is “Worth it” right? The one where she talks about the difficulty of temptation, regret, and falling in and out of love. She also talks in the song about how she doesn’t even want to befriend the guy, talking about how it wouldn’t be worth it to risk her own relationship, showing a level of restraint.
Since Soren helped her with the video, it seems as though, at that point, they were fully aware of each other’s actions and were staying together out of comfort. It’s pretty obvious that they had both made mistakes, whatever they may be, and needed to break up.
I don’t see why the album is an “L” though, since it got #1 in the UK, #2 in the US heatseekers billboard, and top 40 & 30 on many other billboards of music. Gives me “Time to cancel them on Twitter!” vibes.
@@ginguu2490 Right, I personally agree as well, my morals line up with that. Although that doesn’t mean that we can judge or jump to conclusions on another’s relationship without first knowing their personal morals and biases as well. For all we know, Soren was perfectly fine with the open relationship.
Not to mention that there are people that are okay with polygamy, which is also a personal choice and not something inherently wrong or bad.
@@ginguu2490 I didn’t make assumptions, I made speculations on what could have happened or what may or may not have happened. I never said anything definitively. I think that to jump to a conclusion based on a one sided story is fucked up.

I was actually really surpised how much I liked this album. Like I wasn't expecting it to be bad or anything but I pretty much enjoyed every track, Pictures of Us is amazing
pictures of us was my least favorite for a long time but it's finally clicked with me
I couldn't get over not having a clue what "she reminded me that God starts with a capital" means and I still don't but the sound of the song is gorgeous 😭
This might not be my favourite thing ever but I appreciate the lane Beabadoobee is riding in and the fact she's sticking to her guns so well. It's an itch that she's scratching well.
fr i definitely prefer a lot of her older work to most of the songs on this project, but its awesome to see the growth shes had within the last few years. from bedroom pop to loud ass indie rock songs lmao

The California line in the last song is admittedly awkward at first, but it really hit me different when I coincidentally heard it while doing work at a specialty coffee cafe; I appreciated the playful, gen z shopping at urban outfitter vibe I think she was going for in that one lol. Long story short, it’s nice cafe music to work to 🤷🏾♀️

Really enjoyed this project! Favorites gotta be 10:36, Sunny day, and the perfect pair. Was very excited for this album since my really liked Our Extended Play prior and was definitely not disappointed with this one.

it's a great song and i love it but one year on i gotta admit he was right about her vocals folding a little under those strings
it's a gorgeously thick and warm song but her vocals aren't strong enough on it to carry it the way I think someone like Weyes Blood could
but it's still a lovely idyllic song that feels very Bea ❤

I had the absolute honor of meeting her as well as seeing her live back in May of this year and that made this album even better. If only I could’ve seen her play her new material, but maybe one day soon

Fairy Song is a new favorite, such great production on the vocals and percussion, and the guitar parts in the second half are decadent.

Honestly my album of the year. Idk if she’s somehow putting crack in her music but I just find myself addicted to the nostalgic sounds and melodies. This album was a strong evolution of her style.
