It's like watching a little MP3 player back in the day.
Yeah one of those iriver ones which was funnily enough is now called a&k 😂
Just got the KA17. I already had the KA13. I hear no difference. Power in single ended equal. I like the fact with K13 I can flip on high gain without menu surfing. Digital volume read out is nice, wish it was larger. Desktop mode does have noticeable volume increase but downside is you need an external power source. I think this KA17 is going back. Will wait for KA19 :)
does ka13 also has eq ?

It's broken at the moment. No controls working in fiio app, only eq, despite early reviews saying you could control settings on app. Constant random disconnects. No options for play/pause with multifunction button, no skip track with volume. Pops when playing after changing gain. Much worse user experience than ka11 and ka5. The ka13 is better.
Ian can you compare vs the Shanling UA4.. The UA4 has only one of the dac ES chips.. Whereas the Fiio KA17 has two..
Does it sound like the FiiO KA3?.. I love that dongle. And how much power does it drain from the battery of your phone in normal mode compared to the KA3?

when i connect it to PC, max i get is 384 khz. It doesn't show me 768 khz, how to fix that

It is usefull, not more. You can adjust the frequencies and Q-values for 10 bands but you can only save 3 Presets and the overall user experience is not comparable to Q5K. If you are using it on a computer you can not change the eq while listening to music (Q5K does that via bluetooth). So if you want to change eq you always need to plug it into an Android phone. If you want to save your eq settings and don´t want to change them often you´ll be fine but if you like to change eq settings a lot and fiddle arround while listening on the computer its not ideal.

Nice, i hope you enjoy it! I also ordered BTR15 and KA17 to compare them and will send one back. A Q6K would be nice but I don't see that coming yet. I'm using my Q5K as a desktop dac connected to topping G5 as an amp (via AUX In) that's one hell of a combo... Q5K on steroids 💪🏻😁
@@rinderkappajoe Oh I didn t know you can do that..Super 👍BTR is very nice and the EQ it may be not 5k but it's good you can do a lot of things and the sound is good neutral with good space
BTR15 just arrived and yes it is really very neutral, open and technical sounding which I enjoy a lot pairing it with my already warm and musical IEMs. KA17 will be returned. Happy listening! :)
I have the KA13. Besides the extra features, how is the sound difference? Is the KA17 more powerful on single end?
The user experience of ka17 is crap. Keep the ka13, it's smaller, lighter, more efficient, no play/pause, no skip track, no app controls at all. Random disconnects. Pops randomly. As a desktop user for low power headphones it makes sense. For portable use its super overrated due to poor user experience in my view. Wish I'd kept the ka13.
My ka17 heats up a lot when connected to the phone, in desktop mode even when connecting a power bank it prefers to rely on the mobile phone's power supply (s23 ultra) without using the current from the power bank. The preset equalizations (rock, pop, classical....) are useless.
I don't understand why it doesn't support bit perfect mode, and why it consumes so much power despite the power bank. I don't return it because I would like to use it with 300 hom headphones.
I hope FiiO brings new updates for the ka17 app.

@@BrandonAdams1010 colorfly cda m1p is organic or soundmagic A30. Soundmagic is hard to get though. If size doesn't matter to you then zen air dac or zen dac V2 is also very organic. If you want to spend a bit more then hiby fc6 is great option too.

@@AbalMarius Plus 1 for KA17 not being bright at all. It sounds almost identical to K7 which is pretty neutral but warm leaning
