When I was a child my father, my brother and I went to Disneyland in Paris over an extended weekend. It was nice and all, but I wasn't the least bit disappointed when we sold our tickets for the last day and instead went sightseeing through Paris. The burgers in a restaurant of the extended park around Disneyland were great, though.
A bit disappointed when tou travelled to the other parks? i just wished the could do a couple of good dark rides cause those kinda suck well they really only have one and i guess the shooter wich is ok.
We go to Phantasialand every year or so, and what nobody has mentioned yet (or I just have not seen it) is the music. While you're waiting in line, each attraction has its unique music style that always manages to get stuck in my head for days.
The design and especially all the details in Phantasialand are absolutely incredible. It's not only the rides which are great, everywhere you look there are sweet, cool or creepy details and scenes, depending to the "land" you're walking through. I enjoy these even more than the rides. Unfortunately it's often very very overcrowded, even in winter, when they have specials with lots of athmospheric lights, hot chocolate and Glühwein.
This. People say disney has good theming but phantasialand isnt based on any interlectual property or preexisting characters. Everything has deep lore and history that average guests will never even know exists. You can tell they put passion into this place
The interesting thing about Phantasialand is that this park cannot "grow". If a new big attraction is to be built, an old one has to give way. The park has no way of getting bigger. So everything is densely built up. (Unless you overbuild the parking lots :) )
Everytime I'm there I look up to the people who live very close right next to the park, sitting on their balconys, listening to all that noise and music all day. A bit nightmarish.
and they cant even do that. the only parking lot that is owned by them is the small one from old Berlin. the China and mystery parking lots are owned by Private persons who have a Deal with the Park. and i dont think that the City of brühl would allow that either because auf the trees and wildlife that are on these spaces
@@onepiecefanboy0190 the City council of Bruehl is blocking every expansion plan since years. Phantasialand has bought a plot of land between the park and the Autobahn but the town refuses to give them buildung permits because of envirionmental concerns. You wonder what protected wildlife and plants might be loving right next to an Autobahn... But they just block everything. Of course they gladly take all the taxes that flow in from the park. Quite hypocritical.
True. It's right between the autobahn, a city and a nature reserve. And I honestly think it's a great thing, even though I am a little sad every time a ride from my childhood has to make room for a new thing. But they really are experts now to use the little room they have in the most efficient and stylish ways, creating wonderful landscapes and stunning rides. And ofc you don't need to walk that much as a visitor.
Afaik they want to expand, and for a few years now and they actually could expand, but the people that live in the city don't want that, because it'll be to noisy. I mean that's only part of the reasons surely, but imagine moving next to a theme park and then complaining about how loud it is.
The real beauty about Phantasialand is that it also has a lot of quieter/slower rides for people who either want to take a breather or can't do the wild ones due to health issues. The entire family will have their fun when visiting, no matter the age. The biggest highlight here is certainly the 2-story merry-go-round in the "Historic Berlin" section.
Yeah and it has a lot of inside attractions. Last time I was there for two days. On day one it was really rainy but we still could ride with many attractions
I love that merry-go-round, although I'm almost 30. It's just a fun, whimsical and cute little ride. I can go on free fall towers all day long, but I can't take too many rollercoaster rides on one day. So it's really a huge bonus that Phantasialand offers such diverse attractions. I like it more than Disneyland Paris even because I feel you can do mich more within a shorter period of time and the theming is more thoughtful than in Disneyland
Yes, but I loved the first merry-go-round, that was bought and taken away by Michael Jackson. Rich people should not be allowed to buy everything they want. Wonder what happened to the merry-go-round when he was bancrupt and died.....
FYI the large dark indoor coaster got changed. You now take on a VR headset at the start and drive a very themed ride on a flying carpet in VR and together with the actual coaster movement it feels really good
Phantasia Land is also called "The Kingdom of Theming". I worked there for a few days on a construction crane and it was incredible to see the incredibly small footprint of this park combined with the happy faces of the visitors. It is worth a visit once in a while.
I think the ride "Crazy Bats" is way better than described. Originally, it was just a ride in the dark, like he said, but now you are wearing VR glasses while riding it. For me, this was my first VR coaster and a confusing incredible experience.
Originally I remember it was a Space ride, where you would fly through space with a lot more stuff to see during the ride. You can still tell by the ride itself and the line that it was a spaceship you were in. Then they tryed to make it a jungle thing to better fit the theme over there. But in my opinion that made the ride 100 times worse. As a VR ride that has to be pretty cool. Especially now that the Race for Atlantis is no longer a thing.
In the pandamic the VR glasses hast to remove. I dont know If the VR glasses are now Back. But in May i will Go there and Check IT. You get free entry at your Birthday (Not only children)
@Florian Simon They do have VR glasses for a little while now. As far as I know, they changed the rule with the free entry on your birthday. I recently read on the website of Phantasialand that you can now only get in free on your birthday if you are 11 years or younger.
The old Geister Rikscha is really old and I'm glad it's still available. I used to go there and get scared by it 30 years ago. I always loved the part by the end where you drive by a see-through mirror with a colourful ghost in it. It looked like it was sitting with you in the cart. I always made sure to make space for it.
OMFG I am so happy to know that still exists. I was there with the family of a childhood friend when i was about 11. I will never forget how much fun we had riding this and waiting to see which "companion" we would get at the end. staring at this "mirror" is one of my fondest memories. so magical.
When I was 12 years old, the ride was quite new...now I'm 51 and the ghost in the mirror is still awsome! I always leave room for the ghost in the middle seat as well🤗
Oh my gosh!!! Geister Riksha is my most beloved place to be as a child, alway waving to the animatronics, I also always left room for my companion. Sadly this video does not show the real character of "Phanta-Land", the colours are much brighter, the atmosphere makes you lighter and there is music everywhere. Not to forget the shows, parades and all the little details, which suprise you, even after spending decades going there. As mentioned before, this park cannot grow, so it´s alway in a state of change. Exept Geister Riksha...really...no one should even think of laying hands on this ride...
@@kaileyg3947 With the Silvermine gone and the Hollywood Tour laying dormant I fear that the end of Geister Rikscha is just a matter of time. My absolute favourite used to be the Casa Magnetica, the skewed house, where gravity worked "differently" because of the false perspective. I knew the whole show by heart and still I had to see it every time. Sadly it's gone as well and the current employees don't even know that it ever existed.
This was the only park I went to growing up, there was my first coaster ride. The park is beautiful in terms of design and the newer coasters are no joke, but fun as hell
Feels like home - I grew up in the city where Phantasialand ist located and experienced its development from a tiny fairy tale park to what it is now ♥️
Same here. Went to school there and waiting every year for that one day, school ends earlier and we can visit the theme parc for free. Best day of the year ❤️
When you like Phantasialand then you'll definitely like the Europa Park in Rust to! It's just as detailed and fun, and has themed areas based on european countries. It even won the award for "best theme park in the world" multiple times in a row!
I like Phantasialand way more but thats just a personal opinion. Not that i don't like Europapark going there again next month. I would say Phantasialand theming is better intergrated i'm not really a big fan in how the transistions are in Europapark but i agree with you thats its one of the best themed parks around.
@@patrickdasp5609 Yeah but you aren´t broke after visiting PL. EP you need at least 2 days, to it´s size, so double costs. Also the Theming is one level below PL. PL is considered the worlds best themed Park by many. One of the reason is the size restriction, they use the theming to disguise the relative small size
Yesss!! I loved going there as a kid and still do! It's the best! Edit: 1. Talocan really almost did make me puke. 2. Mystery Castle is scary af, cause there are people standing in there jumpscaring you while you wait. 3. River Quest is insane, it has drying chambers after the ride cause you WILL get completely soaked. 4. The first time I went on Taron I was so damn happy, the medievel fantasy themed Klugheim is awesome on it's own, but there is an insane boost on the track I didn't know about! When you visit Germany, make sure to visit this place, it's magical and way more colorful than shown in the video! :)
I live near Phantasialand and I'm there every year. Taron is by far the best Rollercoaster there, followed by black mamba. Fly is new but you don't see a lot and your neck hurts after the ride. Phantasialand is so wonderful because of the scenery. Everything is designed so in love with detail. There is also a small drop tower for smaller children, which is very fun. Maybe about 15m high.
I can absolutely second this. I'm a "annual Phatasialand Regular", too (ca. 90 minutes from my hometown) and my No.1 coaster is and will be Taron. It is the best catapult launcher I did ride in German themeparks, I would say the ride is a "Blue Fire 2.0" with a much better theming on top. I don't like Fly that much, because it's not comfortable and after one ride you're good with it. Taron I can ride multiple times a day. And yes, Phantasialand improved over the decades and because they can't focus on getting larger, they improved the quality of each new attraction.
Taron is amazing, so smooth. I love how much space there is to the next seat and just with a lapbar. It's great for riding with hands up :). Fly is ok. I think in flying coaster in Sea Life Florida is better (at least 15years ago). It's definitely better than Air (Alton Towers).
A lot of the theming in Phantasialand is actually functional since the park is build pretty close to residential buildings and they have to make sure that the noise is kept down. The park started out in the 60s as a fairytail land (without coasters) and expanded when it got more and more popular. That's why it is so close to the next residential area. So those huge artificial mountains have a purpose: They need to cancel out the noise since there were a lot of complaints about it.
Been there the last time about 7 years ago, and immediately had flashbacks about my previous visits when I still was a kid. fond memories, it's a great park for a reasonable price.
I went to Phantasialand when I was 12 in 1978 it was incredible, it was the first time that I ate a nectarine and had fruits covered in caramel. I still have a photo of us on the log flume. My brother lived in Germany with his family as he was serving in the army
Yes they are going over the fountains! I got to operate that Ride roughly three years and during their Winter seasons the Ride closes for a few Minutes 3 Times a day during night time for a light, music,Water fountain Show! 😁☺️
There is a time from November to January when Phantasialand is Winter Wonderland. Lights all over the park, snow and ice shows and when the sun goes down a magic light show
I used to be so jealous of the American parks but I now realised that Germany alone is full of wonderful parks particularly Europa park since it has something for everyone. I'm not lying you could spend multiple days and still not see everything
Finally!! I came to your channel because of your reaction to Europa Park and waited for your Phantasialand reaction. I live near to it and visit it every year, the last one was in january to the winter events. There they have lots of lights and you can do ice skating. It's like a christmas market in the park & it was very beautiful 😍
I was there in January too.🤩 It was my first time I visited Phantasialand in Winter and it was beautiful! Also the imitated snow that falls from the sky and all the christmas lights🤩🤩 It is such a beautiful place!!!🤩🤩😁
@@foxythepiratefox1835 yes the snow was also very beautiful. But it was very crowded at our visit cause it was sunday. I only made 4 rides ! 😕 but since I was there multiple times that's okay. We also had very cheap tickets (29 €, normal 57 €). I plan my next visit in september...
@@HB-nf6jx Wow! We also had very cheap Tickets and it was crowded too(which it is almost ever)!😅 Wait. I guess we can talk german😂 Guess we both come from germany as you wrote you live near there😂😂
When i was there i never thought about it but after visiting several parks as a adult i have to say phantasia land is the best themed park ive ever witnessed.
I DEFINITELY recommend visit Phantasialand. I live 45 minutes away and this amusement park is so awesome 😁. The attractions are great, the themeing is beautiful and the music is also very good. And another aspect nobody talks about is the waiting time. I don't know if I'm just extremely lucky, but the average waiting time from my last 3 visits was between 0-20 minutes, which is absolutely crazy for a park like that.
What I like in particular is that you KNOW in advance the amount of minutes you will have to spend in queue. Spares you from waiting nearly 2 hours in line for one turn (as happened to us during the last visit to Movie Park) - unless you want to, of course.
I went there some time ago, and I can definitely recommend it. Even for me, who doesn't like Rollercoasters with loopings there was a lot to do, and every design part is so great! My favourite rides where definitely Crazy bats and Colorado, it's great. Also Feng Jus palace, maus au chocolate and mystery castle where great. Honorable mention to Fly, but I was to scared lol. The place where it's located is gorgeous tho, and there's a really good shop for sweets and cake nearby
Man, this is so nostalgic… I haven’t been there for years and I remember going there when visiting family members near Cologne. I remember that children were given a paper and when completing rides you were able to get a stamp. At the end… I can’t remember but I speculate that it’s some sort of price you can get- maybe a plushie or a toy!
lol hollywood tour and geister riskha havent changed since the 90s... I was there as a tiny kid and the animatronix in the vid of those rides look just the same ... ^^
My first visit to Phantasialand was in 2002. It's incredible how much it changed over the years. So many attractions are gone and new ones comes... I really miss the 'Race for Atlantis'. The building was incredible. And 'Stonewash/Wildwash Creek' was always my favourite. Ahhh... Time flies 🥲
Yes, its sad. But they had to comprte with the others, so i guess there is nothing they could've done better. In contrast to other theme parks, Phantasialand simply has no more opportunities to expand. So demolish and rebuild. 😕
Ofc Crazy Bats doesn't have a theming.... BC IT'S A VR RIDE!!! With VR it's sooo cool. I think the person who made the video was there during Corona times bc then the VR glasses couldn't be used.
Ryan check also castles in Germany. There is a video called "The 15 Most Beautiful Castles in Germany" or this video a mix of cities at night, natres and castles "Germany in 8K ULTRA HD - Palaces And Castles with Nature" Thanks
this video was very nice for me. I was there as a small child (im 21 now) and could recognize some parts of the video. Thank you so much. I need to go there again some day.
I went to Phantasialand once in my life, at the end of 10th grade (summer of 2021), which was a substitute for our normal class trip which had to be cancelled thanks to the pandemic and that theme park is really beautiful with a lot of attention for details and the rides are also great, if you get to Germany at some point I would definitely recommend you to go there!!
I remember going to Phantasialand almost every summer break as a kid. It’s sad to see some rides I remember being replaced. Temple of the night hawk was my favorite. (Which is now crazy bats I guess)
Before that, it was the Space-Center which will forever have a special place in my heart. I still miss it, the ride wasn´t the same for me after they changed the theme.
@@malaclypse2634 space center was my favorite place ever as a kid. I loved that thing and I was so deeply disappointed when I returned years later and it didn't exist anymore. Crazy bats now is awesome though. You get to wear VR goggles during the ride.
Hi Ryan, cheers from one of your channel´s newbie subscribers! I´ve just taken a right turn that took me to your content. Being a Phantasialand enthusiast for the longest time (I actually moved to Cologne 30 years ago - just to live near the park!), I can absolutley feel Canobie´s take on the park. Though I´ve been to Disneyworld/Universal-Studios/Seaworld/Orlando back in 1996, still/nevertheless/speaking of theming, Phantasialand really has achieved such a well-deserved household name reputation in its own right for immersive experiences they´re managing to provide ever since they opened the park in the late 60s. If you (one of these days) ever manage to hop over to Germany and if you´ll be in dire need of a Phantasialand´s guide, just leave me a note! I´d be glad to show you around. Great work, Ryan!
small facts phantasialand has multiple themed sections, or sections that are inspired by certain countries: a china section, a Mexican section, an african section, just a Berlin section for some reason, a nordic section, a fairy tail style section with a lot of child-friendly stuff, and the newest section which is steampunk. but phanatsialand also has really cool shows. there is a show called jump, with a bunch of stunt artists doing various stunt with bikes, jumping stilts and trampolines. Its reaaally nice
As a kid I went regularly to Phantasialand because I lived close to it. I love the atmosphere there and the rides are just awesome. And on my birthday I could always visit the park for free ♥️
I grew up near Phantasialand so I've been there a lot, mostly with school and our youth club. It's an amazing place and Taron is easily the best ride I have ever had. It's kind of exhausting to be there but I love it!
Yes, Phantasialand is really more of an uprising theme park. It has identity, definitely, the older rides might be nothing special on the world stage, but it's always great to have some history in the park. But with the couple new rides, it really enters international rankings. Its new coasters and accompanying whole themed areas that come with it rival Europa Park or Disney World. Especially F.L.Y inside Rookburgh is incredibly immersive, you feel thrown back in time and location! With steam clouds everywhere and all the pipes and everything, it's truly amazing what they did there. I just hope, that they will get approved more space, or, which could be another solution, open another park somewhere else with more space. They have definitely proven that they are able to keep up with the theming, and are also offering very incredible coasters and rides with it. I would love to see more of that. (Meanwhile, my homepark Europa Park is stagnating, declining the great concepts of their engineers at Mack Rides, who have proven with coasters in other parks that they can keep track internationally, but Europa Park just refuses to build any great coaster of those in their own park for some reason, too much thrill or something).
I live near Phantasialand so i'd go there alot. which also meantt that i was thought every park was like it, sadly they aren't. The 'Theme' in theme park is really the thing that makes phantasialand so damn beautiful and unique
I visite Phantasialand since I'm a kid. Live near Cologne, what's very near to Phantasialand. It's beautiful to see the Park growing, chancing and the new roller coaster they've build. It's an adventure for the hole family, especially because you haven't just one theme, they have different areas with roller coasters, food and shows in line with the topics. My personal favorite coaster is the black mamba, but I love also the old coasters like Winja's Fear & Force in Woodstown or the Colorado roller coaster which isn't that fast and haven't crazy Loopings or spins but you've also get this weird feeling in your stomach which makes it perfect for parents who want to ride with there kids (at the earliest from 4yrs). The Colorado roller coaster was one of the first coasters I've ever rode, so I think it's also a childhood memorie. Probably that's the reason why I've always this happy, excited feeling when I see people riding this or standing in line myself 😂 ❤️
Back when i was little we allways got there in Winter, because there have Christmas theme with snow and lights everywhere! I loved the monorail the most as a kid, sadly it was demolished back in 2006ish
I LOVE Phantasialand, I go at least once a year! It's not that big but that's what makes it special because they have to build things differently and it's all very tight, but there's still a LOT to do and you never have to walk that far!
me too - typically one time in the winter, where the park is specially themed, and when somewhat affordable one time in the spring/summer season. Just bought tickets for april some days ago. As Phantasialand is located in Brühl, just between Bonn and Cologne, and I am living in Bonn, its a quite short way to drive. It is always a good idea to come early to get a parking spot near to an entrace. But it is even possible to get there by train and bus, as Phantasialand has its own shuttle bus from and to the Brühl train station.
number 2: Taron is a multilaunch steel roller coaster manufactured by Intamin located at Phantasialand in Germany. It was the fastest multi-launched roller coaster in the world when it opened. Taron opened on 30 June 2016. it was realy realy fun... i mean ther are 3 accelerating Phase and just where u gonna think omg finally its slowing down here a littel bit, here its come the next accelerter
I miss the old Phantasialand of my youth in the 90th. Grand Canyon was the first rollercoaster I´ve ever used. Loved the "Silbermine" and "Wasserrodelbahn". I´ve heard that even in Hollywood Tours my most beloved scene from Hitchcocks "Die Vögel" is missing..... and the "Schwebebahn"......
Phantasialand is just sooo good. I went many times in like the school holidays cause i live 6h away. And i love it you can quick go everywhere because its small and the rollercoasters are sooo amazing fast crazy and just the whole atmosphere is amazing
I love the Geister Riksha... I have fond memories of me and my dad riding it. Everytime I'm there, Geister Riksha is a must. I know they will tear it down, but it will always live in my heart.
The last time I went there was on my birthday which... they give free entry for people on their birthday, regardless of age, if they can prove its their birthday (which is easy since all Germans need to carry a personal ID on them at all times anyways). Which I am sure many parks do, but I still think it's cool. Because it's not a discount or anything, it's literally you get to go for free (& if you're into it they give you a small badge that says it's your birthday that you can wear and all the mascot characters etc in the park will know and pay special attention, which I imagine is real fun for kids).
Yeah, Phantasialand sets the bar extremely high. I only went there once and I'm going back there this summer. It's awesome, every ride is amazingly thought and placed.
RYAN!!!! Grüß dich!!! 🤗 I used to live in Germany for four years!!! Actually going back this summer for three weeks!!! So cool that you love BASSHUNTER too!!! I ABSOLUTELY love him!!!!❤️❤️❤️
Video randomly popped in my suggestions and now I really want to go again. I really like the old rides, especially the Geister Riksha. After going on stuff like talocan, black Mamba and Colorado the chinese theme is the next on your way, and we were always hungry at this point. We got ourselves some noodle boxes and after that were always thankful for some slow paced rides. Taron was my number one until now because of the crazy acceleration, but the "new" fly rollercoaster also looks promising.
The Rollercoaster behind "Crazy Bats" is the oldes Coaster in Phantasialand. Opened in 1988, the "Space Center" was Themed in Space, were u drive truth thousand of Stars, Spacestations etc. 2001 the Theme was changed to "Tempel of the Nighthawk". Since 2019 its changed to "Crazy Bats", a VR Dark Coaster. During Covid, VR was canceled, so it was only the Dark Coaster like all the years before. Fun Fact: "Colorado Adventure" (opened in 1996) was called till 2013 "Colorado Adventure - The Micheal Jackson Thrill Ride"
Phantasialand IS cool. The indoor coaster too. They have lots of themed areas and even rebuilt the Brandenburg Gate. It's been many years since I've been there, but I'd defo do it again - any time. Oh and the d=fun house with the sliding stairs - Sarah Winchester would've loved that to have in her Winchester Mystery house in San José for sure
I worked in Phantasialand, its THE BEST Theme Park i ever been, i dodnt say it bc i worked for them Moth ago, i grow up with it, The music, the rollercoster, the shops. Everything in the park is so pretty and the details are so lovely
In my experience FLY is cool because you are hanging under the tracks like Superman, but the best one is Taron. The magnetic acceleration on that coaster is insane and it really presses you hard into the seats just because of it not even talking about the twists and turns.
I used to have the privilege of going there twice a year (once in winter, once in summer season) for about 8 years on affordable tickets. Unfortunately this is not the case anymore (hence I don't have experience with Fly) but this video brought back a bunch of memories. Taron earns top spot for me, too. Closely followed by Winja's Fear, Crazy Bats and River Quest fighting for the podium. Best thing for me was: My niece celebrating her 11th (?) birthday there including VIP passes that allowed us to ride Taron and Raik (both recently opened by that time) interchangably for one hour with next to no other people there. To this day I have fond memories of this time spent with family even though I chickened out far earlier than the kids did (after riding Taron 4 times in a row).
He really doesn't like Taron that much its not really his thing but i also think he never road it when it was going fast. i lierly road it a couple of hunderd times and on some days it wasn't moving that great. i believe he only visted the park on 2 seperate occaisions so he might have had bad luck.
An incredible theme park. Went there last October for the first time. It has a very small footprint, but the rides and theming where far better than anything in the bigger northern Germany parks I'm used to. The last coaster is build around a new hotel, where you can see the coaster from nearly any point of the walkways and cabins. You can even take a nightwalk through the area, if you sleep in the hotel. Great experience, but i fear, my it set the bar a little too high when coming back to my normal go-to-parks. 😅
I highly recommend this theme park if you visit Germany. Every time my friends and I go there, we end up with so much adrenaline. Just like you said, just walking through this park is breathtaking: Phantasialand is like a planet, it’s divided into different “countries”. Mexico, China, Africa, old viking city, old great britain, iceland and so on. Each and every of those parts have huge amounts of different fresh made food, that is specialized to the world region. In winter season unfortunately most of the rides are closed, so that there is no danger for the visitors. Instead the park delivers ice-shows and so on. Halloween is literally amazing with parades and costumes. If you want the full experience, late spring and early summer are the best! Its not to hot and everything is open. Also the F.L.Y ride is pretty new, I think it came out 2021/2022 and is just breathtaking! It literally feels like flying. There is nothing under your feet and unlike other roller coasters you don’t sit in the ride. The safety mechanism is around your shoulders and gives you the best experience ever. They literally built a whole new city theme in the park: old Great Britain and it gives you such a vibe. Btw every themed part of Phantasialand has their own specialized music which gives you even more the feeling, that you are in another world. The park provides you with a extra bus that brings you from the train station to the park and back and a huge map that shows you every little detail (you can get it for free). The waiting times for each ride varies but are actually really short especially if you don’t come in easter or summer school holidays. That mouse-chocolate-shooting ride is the whole opposite: every time I’m there the queue is sooooo long, I don’t even wait. When I saw a video of Disneyland I was really shocked because those waiting lines are sooo long! So if you want an theme Park that has amazing rides and you don’t want to wait for hours for one ride: go to Phantasialand.
It's been a Long Time since I Last went to Phantasialand, but I Always Loved the Geister Rikscha. Sure it is really slow and old but it's still charming. I remember that I was talking with a friend while riding the Rikscha and a Chinese Ghost joined our Chat at some Point. After that rode again and again xD
There are some interesting infos about the Geister Rikscha (Ghost Riksha). This is the only ride of this type ever built. It has a capacity of 3000 Persons - at a time! It consists of 100 Karts for 3 People each which are running non-stop. To enter and exit, you walk on a threadmill which has exaclty the same speed as the ride. Because of the high capacity, you never have to wait.
I miss all the old rides. I'm from germany, living near Brühl, where the Phantasialand is located. Since I was 5 years old I visited the Park 1-2 times a year! If you're intrested in the old rides, wich had to be removed for new ones, then here are some Names: Galaxy, Condor, Phantasialand Jet, Silbermiene and Crazy loop. There was a big playground too when I was young and I loved it.
Two days a week I drive to my workplace in Bonn ... on my way I pass Phantasialand and shorly after I drove over the A555 (First german Autobahn) all the way to Bonn until I reach our office next to the "Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community" ... now that I have watched your videos about this "attractions" I feel pretty blessed 😊
My first roller coaster ever was Colorado Adventure, my 2nd Black Mamb. I did drive Black Mamba like 40 times or so I feel like. Taron was my 3rd a few years later, I heard it would be the fastest of the world a often but I dont think that is even close but it is realy fast
I went to Phantasialand back in September 2019. My best friend and I stayed at the Asian themed hotel there. The hotel was amazing. The beds were comfy and the room was super clean. The staff was lovely as well. My favorite ride was Raik, but Crazy Bats and River Quest were a lot of fun as well. If you ever get to go to Phantasialand I would recommend going to River Quest first thing in the morning. You get to go into the park earlier than the normal visitors if you stay at one of the hotels. That means that you don't have to wait in a very long line if you go there straight away. But you do get drenched on that ride. We had to go back to our room and change into a dry set of clothes after the ride. When I was there they had VR glasses for the Crazy Bats ride. Apparently they showed a nice little movie (or something like that) with bats during the ride. My motion sickness kicked in after not even a minute of wearing those glasses and I had to take them off. I still loved the ride because riding a roller coaster in almost total darkness was a lot of fun for me. I had never done something like that before because before my trip to Phantasialand I had never been on a roller coaster (I was too scared to go one). That trip was all about overcoming my fear of roller coasters and it worked out very well. I really hope I get to go Phantasialand again one day.
Cool that you made a video of Phantasialand. Only the Hollywood Tour does not longer exist. It is currently being demolished by Phantasialand, because it is too old... Like so many other wonderful attractions that no longer exist, such as the Galaxy, 1001 Nights and the Silver Mine. I live nearby and I used to go there every year with my parents.
I was on river quest. There are signs all along the queue "Attention. You will get very wet."... I barely got a few drops of water... Standarts really decreased. The guys on the other side got wet tho
My fav. ride at Phantasialand was "Galaxy" ... a 3D space ship flight simulator! Been there when it opend in 1994. Never had that kind of an experience ever before - and never after! Sadly they closed it in 2005. I guess it was too expensive?! I don't know for sure.
If you could make it, it is a clear recommendation for a visit. I was there the first year after "Klugheim" was build. It is also worth to visit though december and january. Rally nice with the winter shows. And of you are in the hotel there, you have the first hour before opening to drive some rides. In my case it was Taron. 5 times in a row. Fun. Pure fun. 😉
A comment about the "bottom rides": The "Geisterrikscha" is basically a ghost ride which was inspired by the haunted mansion in Disneywold, and the oldest ride which is still in the park (since it replaces old attractions which aren't as popular anymore fairly frequently due to space issues). The Crazy Bats ride was originally part of the "future" part of Phantasialand, back then it was still the Galaxy drive, and actually very cool, because it was a complete dark ride. But then safety regulations basically forced the park to make it less dark (and therefore less good), in additition the ride has a climate probleme (the air in it is so stale that you might want to throw up while still waiting in line). They rethemed it a couple of times since the orginal futuristic part of Phantasialand was replaced by a fantasy theme, hence now it and the Hollywood tours (which is directly behind it in the same building) is now sitting pretty akwardly in the area. One doesn't have to be a genius to guess that those two rides will be the next ones which either have to go or will end up being rethemed completely (unlike the Geisterrickscha, which is still fairly popular, fits in the Asia part of the park and has the advantage of a crazy high capacity). The Colorado Adventure is, well, nice, but I am still nostalgic about the old canyon ride. Sadly that one went up in flames at one point (nobody got hurt), so they replaced it with the water ride. Plus, Taron is actually closer to it in experience than the Colorado Adventure. I am not a big fan of the free fall tower. There are better ones out there. I am pretty sure that Mouse au Chocolate is older than the Toy Story one. Phantasialand used to got a lot of inspiration from Disneyworld, but recently, it has been more the other way around. (Mouse au Chocolate is also one of my favourites, it is beautifully themed and so much fun). Regarding the rides which didn't make the list: The only ones missing are the ones which are for really small kids.
Phantasialand does hold one or two world records as well. Taron for example is a ride with the highest acceleration in the world. I've been there and it truly is awesome
One of my favourite parks and gives Disney and Universal a run for their money. I've switch 1 and 2 as Taron was by far my favourite. Looking forward to going back!
I grew up only going to Phantasie Land thinking that this was the norm for every theme park. Boy was I wrong.
Me too 😄
Same
A bit disappointed when tou travelled to the other parks? i just wished the could do a couple of good dark rides cause those kinda suck well they really only have one and i guess the shooter wich is ok.

We go to Phantasialand every year or so, and what nobody has mentioned yet (or I just have not seen it) is the music. While you're waiting in line, each attraction has its unique music style that always manages to get stuck in my head for days.
The best thing is that they produce the music themselves for each attraction

I live in Germany
@@katarzynatrejosamador4774 me too, but i cant afford their entrance fees
And they had specialists from the areas they created
The design is very human
@@i.336 that's true. I especially hate it when some rich guy buys famous paintings of dead artists or fossils. Like, this stuff belongs into a museum.
To be honest if you want that go to efteling thats way better in that aspect. Ofcourse the coasters there kinda suck in the Thrill level.
FYI the large dark indoor coaster got changed. You now take on a VR headset at the start and drive a very themed ride on a flying carpet in VR and together with the actual coaster movement it feels really good
Jup, its really good
Is it possible to steal the VR headset?

Phantasia Land is also called "The Kingdom of Theming". I worked there for a few days on a construction crane and it was incredible to see the incredibly small footprint of this park combined with the happy faces of the visitors. It is worth a visit once in a while.
I think the ride "Crazy Bats" is way better than described. Originally, it was just a ride in the dark, like he said, but now you are wearing VR glasses while riding it. For me, this was my first VR coaster and a confusing incredible experience.
Yeah, it's weird that he doesn't even mention it's a VR coaster. He was probably there during covid and didn't read the signs 😅
Ah he went during covid no VR then and the original one was a bit boring.
The ghost was the best part......
This.
Although Phantasialand is not bad Europa Park has one MAJOR advantage.
They can grow bigger.
Yesss!! I loved going there as a kid and still do! It's the best!
Edit:
I'm also there every year and can agree, that taron is the Best. And Even though fly hurts a bit, I still love it. Its on place 2 for me😊
@@MtheHell imagine you live near there but have to drive 90min. Bro i dont need more then 10
Taron is amazing, so smooth. I love how much space there is to the next seat and just with a lapbar. It's great for riding with hands up :).
Fly is ok. I think in flying coaster in Sea Life Florida is better (at least 15years ago). It's definitely better than Air (Alton Towers).
dude same but just reversed xD my neck always hurts after taron cause of the speed boosts, but on fly it waa fine
"Reasonable price"
I went to Phantasialand when I was 12 in 1978 it was incredible, it was the first time that I ate a nectarine and had fruits covered in caramel. I still have a photo of us on the log flume. My brother lived in Germany with his family as he was serving in the army
Yes they are going over the fountains! I got to operate that Ride roughly three years and during their Winter seasons the Ride closes for a few Minutes 3 Times a day during night time for a light, music,Water fountain Show! 😁☺️
Hey!
I had seen a film about phantasia land in winter and christmas time , a real nice winter wonderland with all the lights . Is worth visit too.
Taron is amazing. You get sped up by the second launch from moderate speed to 117km/h (73 mph) near instantaneous.
Fun fact, the Taron used to have the world record for the worlds quickest coaster when it got built
It definitely did not... Maybe world's fastest multi-launch coaster ?
Finally!! I came to your channel because of your reaction to Europa Park and waited for your Phantasialand reaction.

Geister rikja is perfect for taking a break underground on a hot day and eating something. It's dark and very slow.
You got lucky then. Most times even in the off seizone taron does 30+.

I'm so glad I live near Phantasialand and can visit it every year ❤️
lol hollywood tour and geister riskha havent changed since the 90s...
I'm still sad that the "Walzertraum" is gone. It looked like paradise in spring.
And the "Silbermine" that was so cool as a kid
Ofc Crazy Bats doesn't have a theming.... BC IT'S A VR RIDE!!! With VR it's sooo cool. I think the person who made the video was there during Corona times bc then the VR glasses couldn't be used.

Maybe also watch about Europapark? Would love to see a video about that!
Ah I was gonna recommend this but yaaas! I found you reacting to it atlast!
I LOVE Phantasialand, I go at least once a year! It's not that big but that's what makes it special because they have to build things differently and it's all very tight, but there's still a LOT to do and you never have to walk that far!

I really love beeing there. The amount of detail is incredible.
Omg, I remember Mystery Castle.
I almost slipped between the guards of the seat because I was so slim as a kid
RYAN!!!! Grüß dich!!! 🤗 I used to live in Germany for four years!!! Actually going back this summer for three weeks!!! So cool that you love BASSHUNTER too!!! I ABSOLUTELY love him!!!!❤️❤️❤️
I was in Phantasialand 8 Times and it is SOOOOO cool
Last summer some friends from Sweden came over and we enjoyed Phantasialand very much :)
On May, 01. 2001, a big Fire destroyed some Coasters. The "Wild West City" Area was deleted until then and the rebuild a new Section.
I think in the Video you can't really See how fast it really is. Fly is nice but taron has an insane speed.
I totally love the "Europa Park" but the theming in Phantasialand is so beautiful!
Fly is so cool but Taron is crazy😂
I was on river quest. There are signs all along the queue "Attention. You will get very wet."... I barely got a few drops of water... Standarts really decreased. The guys on the other side got wet tho
1:26 damn
haven't listen to this Swedish song for a long time
don't understand Swedish but still love this song
I love Phantasialand, it's just 20 minutes by car from my place 💝
Same
While I never was there, too far away.
Same here 🙌🏻

My fav. ride at Phantasialand was "Galaxy" ... a 3D space ship flight simulator! Been there when it opend in 1994. Never had that kind of an experience ever before - and never after! Sadly they closed it in 2005. I guess it was too expensive?! I don't know for sure.
Black Mamba was such a great ride. Poorly we didnt have enough time to ride it twice....
7:10 My Collegue has build this Tower in 1999, not the Wall, the Coaster Technic inside.
One of my favourite parks and gives Disney and Universal a run for their money. I've switch 1 and 2 as Taron was by far my favourite. Looking forward to going back!
