Thank you so much for your channel. It's interesting and informative. I'm buying my 1st bike and I'm in my 60's. I'm looking at the Rebel 1100 (keep in Rain mode until I am more comfortable). I find the history, the maintenance and your opinions very helpful. Thank you!! Keep em' coming!

Welcome aboard! I appreciate your encouraging comments. I bet you'll love the 1100. The low center of gravity and light weight makes for a good bike for somebody just getting started. Keep in mind, the parallel twin is very powerful and torquey at low rpms, so be smooth and conservative on the throttle. Tell us about your experiences after you've ridden for awhile.

Great video as always Steve, very informative. Like you I am a 70 something, been riding since I was 16 and blessed with your laid back but attentive riding style (although I can give it the beans if needs must!) I've just booked a test ride with the 1100 DCT-T, as I like the bags and screen fitted as standard. last cruiser I had was a Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 that I travelled all round Europe on with great mates, lovely bike I owned for 13 years that alas became a bit of a challenge to my tired muscles when slow maneuvering, traded it in for a Triumph Bonneville 900 3 years ago which is a lovely bike with no problems but I'm missing the cruiser lifestyle, and the DCT is a definite + addition. Subscribed and looking forward to your future videos, Good luck from the UK.

Let me know how you like the DCT-T. I wonder if its as agile as the DCT? I don't really want bags on my 1100. I was even reluctant to mount the fairing, but the ride is less tiring at highway speed with the windshield.
      I'm a late bloomer. I didn't own my first motorcycle until I turned 71. I started with a Suzuki Boulevard 800cc.
What I would really go for from Honda is an 1100 with a more sporty upright riding position. Give me buckhorn bars and a larger windscreen than the OEM fairing and you'll never get me off the bike.
Seems to be a fair number of 70-something cycle enthusiasts out there. We should start our own club. Call it maybe: "Satan's Septuagenarians"
      Keep watchin'.

Enjoyed the video, I agree with everything you said about the DCT. The 1100 is a joy to ride.

Very no nonsense and intelligent review. Great job !!! You sound like an instructor. Question: Why does every 1100 Rebel have fuel tanks that are very flexible? Is it because they want it to flex in a crash? ... .. ..

You're too kind. I can't answer the question about 1100 fuel tanks. Mine seems solid enough. I don't plan to crash it.

Before you buy a new seat… have you ever thought about having a custom seat made? Like a Tailored suit… there is a guy that has been making custom seat for more than 30 years here in Washington State. You go in the morning and you are interviewed, measured and fitted on your bike and the seat is done at the end of the day. There are many configurations, foams and gel pads to fit your preferences. He books about a month out. If you call around there may be someone like that near you… if not and you fly up (with your seat pan in your carryon) I would let you use my rebel 1100dct to fit with so you do t have to truck your bike up. The company is Rich’s custom seats/saddles.

I had the custom saddle for my Suzuki Boulevard reupholstered by a local guy who could probably do the custom work.
