I really love the inquisitive look the husky has and the colours used. When you flicked through your sketchbook at the beginning the orange page with the sofa really caught my attention. I really love that whole composition!!
Hi Jess, we love this real time video. New and educational, and just made me chill even if I'm currently stress out with my work. Thank you for this beautiful artwork and and reminding us to take a second to relax and slow down. You are always amazing and please do share your color pencil art portfolio. That'll be exciting. Hope you'll have a great weekend. ♥
Hi Marienel! Your name is beautiful! And thank you so much I definitely will keep that in mind. Thanks for your kind words and have a great weekend as well!
Hullo Jess, I got this sticker from your shop when I ordered a few of your prints, truly beautiful prints too! I was excited to watch the creation of the husky! You and other younger viewers might not understand the following, but my first art supplies came from a small local art store. There was no internet and a larger store was over 5 hours away! I started my color pencil journey started with Koh-I-Noor pencils and since I was into watercolor painting first I purchased watercolor pencils and since this brand was the only one offered I thought it was the only one! Since you can use them dry or wet double value for my money spent! Very important for a 11 or 12 year old boy financing my supplies from babysitting(50 cents per hour) and lawn mowing money($3.00 a yard)! I hope to watch more experiments from you on this journey on RUclips! Lovely video Jess, Oh yes to the viewing your older pencil and general art works. I guess that I need to look about your channels library since this video is over a year old! See ya next video.
I love watching you work and listening to your thought process. I am a total amateur who started about a year ago with a watercolor class. Next I took a drawing class and since then have been working with pastels. I find that I am good at sketching animals and plants from life or photos. I loved this colored pencil demo as an idea for adding color to some of my sketches. Most were pencil and/or charcoal. I would add a tiny bit of color to eyes of my animals or a few petals on a flower sketch. Now you have inspired me to reimagine them with a lot more color. I liked the slowed down video so we could really see how it emerged
I am seeing your RUclips videos from so far now..... I love your way to draw .You are my favorite favorite artists I have most of inspirations from u . Don't stop making these type of inspirational videos ..... Love from India❤️❤️❤️
Just binge watched a TON of your vids- I’ve been a professional photographer for a number of years, and have been wanting to get back into developing my skills with other art forms and mediums after about a decade of abandoning my college education in classic art practices. I’ve seriously lacked the inspiration and drive. Your vids were definitely inspirational, so thank you!
Ever since I saw your first sketchbook video I became addicted to your videos. I love your drawings and how you explain your drawing process. Great stuff Jess! ❤️
Hi Jess! I don't know if you'll ever see this but I just wanted you to know that you are such an inspiration to me and I always enjoy watching your videos or looking at your beautiful pictures on Instagram! You're one of my favourite artists. Your artworks never cease to amaze me ! I also love creating illustrations and coloured pencils are my go-to art supplies and videos like this one are really helpful! I would be interested in watching a comparison between Prismacolor and Polychromos and hear your opinion on them.
Love the drawings :3 Ever since I watched one of your videos a while ago, I fell in love with your artwork and immediately subscribed to you :D You're really talented!!
Been busy lately in taking your all the tips that you tell in your videos into work and I just wanted to thank you so so so much, you are such an inspiration, painting along and my network is also having some issues that's why I couldn't wrote the comments it keeps idk what to say that thing, thank you so much for making this channel just keep growing, I wish you all the success that you desire in any areas of your Life
I would definitely love to see you do a prismacolor and faber castell colored pencil video. Those are very nice to watch. I’d also love to see your old colored pencil drawings! What set did you start out with for prismacolor & then evolve into? I guess I mean as of size. Have you tried any other prismacolor colored pencil besides the premier?
Whatever you make is really awesome 😍😍 Love the way you blend the colours! Thankyou for the amazing video:D And Thankyou for being my inspiration too Have a nice day Jess!
Thank you so much for the brilliant video! I've been watching your channel for a while now and have been hoping you'd do on on the polychromos as I love them so much! Also, the slowed down video style is so fun 😊💙
Thank you so much for this video! I love using my colored pencils but I typically use them over watercolor or gouache. Using them alone is still a challenge for me, it always feels like it's missing something. This vid has inspired me to use different colors to help take it to the next level!
I love that Polychromos are very erasable if you keep them light. I like using the black Poly for sketching. Don't have to see that graphite shine. And they don't go dull instantly like Prismas.
Love how that turned out. Would love to see a comparison video between the two brands - I haven’t used coloured pencils in a while but have been itching to get back into them. Prismacolour is the only high quality coloured pencil I’ve used before but I’d love to hear your take on them and some more of their differences/expanding on the layering vs blending
I’ve enjoyed watching this video (and all of the other ones I’ve seen so far)! Would you do another color pencil video? I’ve been trying to learn how to blend better/draw with them. I’m having a little trouble getting the hang of it. Is it better to take smaller strokes while coloring and do layers?
I loved this video. I have only ever used Prismacolor pencils so this was interesting and yes, I would love to see a comparison video. I like to blend my colors with a blending tool or sometimes just nail polish remover on the tip of a cotton swab. I see you left the layers visible on yours. Was that intentional? I like the effect because it seems like a texture similar to fur. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank yo Sharon! Will definitively keep that in mind. I like to blend with white using my prismacolor pencil but here using the Faber Castell I decided to experiment with a different method and intentionally leave the layers showing to provide more texture indeed.
Coloured pencil was my first art medium, too…. And it’s still my go to, “comfort zone”. (Though I still have lots of room for improvement). My First Coloured pencils were Laurentian…. But I haven’t been able to find them for years. So I went to Prismacolor, and I love them. Haven’t really tried many other types. Yes Please, a comparison video would be helpful. Love your drawings. =) Yes please! I’d LOVE to see your older artwork! =)
Ya I would like to know the difference between the pencil crayons. It would help a lot. I love your work it is really awesome and you are helping me with my art as well 😊 thanks.
lovely colourful huskie 😀 I love polys, use to use prisma, but really like the finer points I can get with the poly over the prismas. coloured pencils were my first art material love, but they can take so long to do lol
Hello! I Just wanted to ask if you could make a video about your experience in art school, how Was it and maybe showing some of your work that you've done in art school. 😊✨
I am finishing my High school this year and wanted to ask you about some art schools and what kind of things we can learn there and do they also include the history of art of any particular era or country?
I just discovered Holbein Colorwd Pencils. The are oil/wax and sosoft and creamy and I love them. They are really expensive. I LOVE the slowed down video!!
It would be cool if you did like a drawing for each season. Like for fall you could do leaves and a girl sitting on a bench...... I don't know. But it would be nice if you could make a video and compare the two types of pencil crayons.😊😁
Hi Jess! I love your videos they’ve inspired me so much! Could you test out the Prismacolor Scholars? I’ve looked all over RUclips but I don’t think there is a very decent review on them. Thank you!
Jess is definitely my top 5 favorite youtube artist 🙌🏽
Would love to see comparisons on color pencils and your celebrity sketchbook 💜
Aw thank you!
Wow...........blending is perfect
Thanks
I really love the inquisitive look the husky has and the colours used. When you flicked through your sketchbook at the beginning the orange page with the sofa really caught my attention. I really love that whole composition!!
