I always thought that Bjork had a really distinguishable and unique voice until I discovered many other female singers from Iceland and at some point beggining to think man seems like a lot of the icelandic women have the same kind of voice.. This is really interesting to notice that a lot of them sing that way and not so much in the other countries and you begin to wonder what does explain that? Is that their physiology and genetics or is it a cultural thing or both anyway gotta love these icelandic voices!!
Very nice! Just found this group. bjork came to mind immediately. Very talented this trio! We need more creative energy like this....maybe there'd be less wars and violence!!
@Venus Boy Are you complaining about a non-English comment on a video that isn't in English to begin with? They have just as much right to enjoy it as we do. Þú hefðir aðeins einhvern rétt til að kvarta ef þú værir að tala íslensku. (You would only have any right to complain if you were speaking Icelandic.)
@@csiny88 I think the comment I was referring to was deleted. If I remember right it was someone complaining about a comment being in Spanish rather than English on a video in Icelandic.
I like the PowerStation setting, the singers hiking boots and voice and the music is of course best. I actually just got out of bed with a headache and this is the 1st thing I discovered so that was nice & helped some.
Week 4 of 2021, covid still making a mess around the world. Back in the early nineties people told me I should go to Iceland, if anything just for a vacation. I never could get why until now.
agreed, doubt they ever will though, i did get to listen to her last year in melbourne when she came but it was as "JFDR" (her solo project) and she only sang a few songs
I thought I heard a Björk! I did, I did hear a Björk! But without kidding, I quite liked this. Great synth work too. Спасибо моим друзьям в "Rutracker". Конечно, у них было это ;)
I know... but... Björk will always be there in every band in Iceland... it´s her style... it´s her voice... this is good stuff, sounds good... thanks Björk...
I close my eyes and I can't believe it's not Bjork (TM)... It's incredible! Some are saying that they're copying Bjork but they're obviously not, it's just that her voice is unbelievably similar to that of a younger Bjork...and I love it! I really hope she performs some of Bjork's new music so we can hear it in Bjork's younger voice because hers has changed (not at all in a bad way) over the years. I wish the best of luck to Samaris!
The description says "live at Toppstöðin power station" so I would assume so. Did a quick google search on Toppstöðin power station and found articles about how this long-decommissioned power plant had been turned into an art studio startup venture sort of space. Article I found even mentioned this specific performance. I would imagine the machinery is probably all gutted, the former machine halls are now empty rooms, but this control room was kept intact, sort of provides an interesting backdrop. grist.org/living/iceland-turned-an-old-coal-plant-into-a-haven-for-artists-and-entrepreneurs/
2023..absolutely amazing and hypnotic...I have loved this band from the start...blessed be
Throughout my life, the fact that I don't speak Icelandic has never bothered me. Until now.
It's a sort of difficult yet rewarding language

Hello, I'm from 2020 😊 And this song is brilliant 💗
I love Icelandic bands, they have a certain something.
girl on the clarinet gives life to the music
Wait. Stop. What incredible sound is this????
This lead singer is so beautiful..... I have such a crush on her
..She's now my wife.
If you were in Iceland you’d have trouble deciding which absolutely beautiful woman to crush on.
OMG! That voice is amazing! True inspiration! 👍
exhilarating both in the world of sound and visuals
Nice work Bjork you inspired new generatios with the gift that you gave to this planet , your style and talent.
I always thought that Bjork had a really distinguishable and unique voice until I discovered many other female singers from Iceland and at some point beggining to think man seems like a lot of the icelandic women have the same kind of voice.. It's not genetics. It's mostly the Icelandic language, which teaches you a different intonation…
And... that they are very deeply influenced by bjork. Not only the vocals but all their music.
every once in a while something comes along that makes a real difference
in moving forward
here it is
Her voice is so soothing! 😍
it's hard to forget this anytime soon
you can say thT AGIANI
Wow this is beautiful and almost impossible not to think in Björk!
Same, her voice ( of this young girl ) helps to think in Bjork's
All the Icelandic gals seem to sound like this. Laufey from Kaelen Mikla sounds like this too, but in a synth punk/Darkwave band.
Great timing..
In this.
~epic progression
Wow
just the genius of their creativity lays most groups to waste away in
the manner in which Samaris carries themselves
An example please
You could not be any more wrong.
There’s some cool music coming out of Iceland... thank you KEXP 🙏
Sooo GREAT 👍👏👏👏
Very nice! Just found this group. bjork came to mind immediately. Very talented this trio! We need more creative energy like this....maybe there'd be less wars and violence!!
This is so sweet. I need to see these guys live!
So beautiful and relaxing!
A beautiful video with wonderful music
muy buen grupo y la música es un placer escucharla ojala un dia vengan a MEXICO

Dificilmente, sem nem a Bjork que é a Bjork vem muitas vezes.
Estoy enamorado de la vocalista.
Es muy bella.
Love these guys so much!
Beautiful, calming, mesmerising and makes you tingle.
I love Iceland. I even know the Iceland history from Njal's Saga. Unique music styles they got there now.
It's a bliss for my ears
Very cool music. Interesting location for the video, too. Audio sounds amazing
that is a compliment that sticks
yes indeed
Saw Samaris at Green Man last year, they were phenomenal
Magical voice!
Live is the best

Stirring and transcendent.

Great song! Time to learn Icelandic (old norvegian?). Greeetings from Ukraine
I dig that guy's shirt
They sell them at stalls on the streets of Nepal and India. A new shirt is a good excuse for a holiday, eh?
A la madre que rico!!
she sounds like that woman in Fever Ray
Oh shit I just noticed
Fuck, she's Bjork but in her very unique way!!!
+Isabella S Don't really see a resemblance other than she's Icelandic like Bjork but both are great artist's
