      I have a few questions for you if you don’t mind, I kindly ask how did you feel after the surgery? Did your hair grow back quickly? Did the discomfort of having the tumour pre-op go away post-op? Do you feel better now that you’ve had it removed being that you posted this comment a year ago? I hope you do, I wish you all the best! Thank you ❤️🙏

    3 yrs ago at age 28 I had a medulloblastoma removed succesfully . It apparantly is very rare that adults get this, because medulloblastoma usually only occurs with young kids. I am pretty much a very rare case over here in my country. I can't find any young adult brain tumor survivors, let alone young adult medulloblastoma survivors. I am doing ok. As a side effect of the surgery, I obtained double vision (got used to that with adjusted glasses), balance problems (under control now, I can walk outside in the real world without anyone noticing), and some minor issues like subtile throat muscle control issues, subtile head tension, occasional nausea when looking straight up too much). So I can say, yes it's possible to get through this. Long term expectations? No idea, doctors don't really have an opinion, because I assume there are no other references/cases in the same situation like me...

      I'm curious, my mom finished chemo/radiation almost a month ago and is eating very little and sleeping all the time. I know it's normal to be tired after treatment but I'm worried about the minimal amount of nutrition she is getting. It's a vicious cycle, if she doesn't eat, she doesn't have energy and if she doesn't have energy she loses her strength. I'm a radiation therapist, so to some extent, like I said I realize this is part of the process... Especially when dealing with the brain, I just wonder if you could give some personal input on your experience. My mom has a specific tumor marker which indicates she should respond well to treatment and reoccurrence isn't likely. That being said the decline in her physically is quite troubling to see. It very much so mimics end of life activity. While we've been assured she will make it through this.

      @@Kendralovesskincare, Thank you for that. With regards to your poor Mum I am afraid to say I don’t know what to say about her eating. In a way I was fortunate to have been on steroids after surgery and ate everything in sight!!! My tastes however can still be fickle now and will change from one week to the next so all I can think is to try and encourage your Mum to eat what she really fancies, even it’s unhealthy. Now a year later from this original post, I am still not much further on in my recovery. Still have extreme fatigue and constant head pain.

    • @Kendralovesskincare
      @Kendralovesskincare 5 месяцев назад

      @@willjeffery2661 thank you for responding, it can be scary to see someone eat so little and know they can't survive like that forever. She's having issues swallowing as well and is very picky regarding texture but we ( my dad mostly since he's her primary caretaker and I'm far away) do encourage her to eat whatever she actually will.
      Thank you again SO MUCH for responding... I became concerned after a conversation with my dad and came to see "what's normal" or "to be expected" even though I know it's a range. I guess I was just looking for some confirmation that she can come back from this regain some strength. I suspect like you, it will be a long road to a "new normal" for her.
      I'm keeping you in my thoughts. I'm so sorry you're experiencing pain and fatigue on a daily basis. I hope at some point you get some relief.

      As someone who just had a benign tumor removed successfully almost four months ago i can say we recover but in different ways. All i got was double vision and trouble swallowing water and food which sucks because im on a feeding tube. My speech is a little off but everything is recovering great. Walking is almost perfect stopped using one 3 days of being home. But i was in the hospital for 3 weeks prior to my surgery then one month in hospital after surgery. Got sent home on January 21 2021.

    I hate doctors , I have anxiety and I’m used to headaches but I got new severe headaches and a variety of other symptoms and I kept telling them that it wasn’t anxiety , turns out I had a tumor . I’m telling you once they diagnose you with depression, doctors are in control , they tell you whatever your feeling is cause of your mental state . They gotta have a more open mind cause what if something is actually wrong like in my case , they gotta listen to their patients and not just say “ yes depression causes that , yeah anxiety causes this” - I’m fucking aware of that but I know my body more than anyone else

    My father underwent surgery for a non-secreting pituitary tumor, he had seizures after the operation and loss of strength in the right side of the body, so far he has had two normal brain scans, waiting for an electroencephalogram, it would be good if they did an MRI? (since I have read that brain scans detect from 2mm of lesion upwards- his strength, speech and motor skills have improved, he is very sleepy due to the anticonvulsants, hopefully God and science can make him functional again, I have doubts if There will have been some negligence, day 7 post operation, I have read that up to week 6 there is a greater weight% of the recoveries.

      Bryon Bartholomew thanks for your reply bro, hope all is well, you made my day when you said you had your vision back, my mom doesn't have her vision back just yet because it has been 2 months since the surgery, she's still in the recovery room and they just had an eye doctor come and check her eyes out, I'm hoping she's gonna get her vision back in in 6 months time. She had a little sight problem before the surgery and the dr. promised us that she'll get full 20/20 vision after surgery, we're very hopeful.
