Hey there! I'm a new medical coding student! 👋 I started a few days ago and I will tell ya... I was in tears, I was so confused and intimidated by this ICD 10 book. I am so so soooo thankful to have found your channel! Just one video in and everything is so much clearer now. Thank you!!! ❤
For ppl that think this career is so easy, you better think again bc there are rules to how you code different circumstances on a patients different encounters for different health insurance policies for different doctors in different states 🤣! Get ready and pay attention to these videos!
FYI - I bought a small white board (9x12) in preparation for my CPC exam online (based on your video) and have found that useful looking up codes instead of scrap paper.
Please do more videos! I am new to billing and coding and honestly feel like im learning more from you than my professors. I am so nervous to start this career because of it.
I wish I knew about you when I was taking my CPC certification. This is so simplified and easy to understand. I will definitely keep watching and hopefully I’ll be able to pass!!!!
Yes, please!! I would like to see more step by step videos of coding. I’m taking my test in September and would like to keep my knowledge of the material fresh and ready. Thank you, I always enjoy your videos💗
YES! Definitely do a video about main codes! While some (in my student exercises) are straight forward, others are confusing because there are multiple terms for different things often. It is very confusing when you try to look up the different words in index and you don't find any of the words you are looking for! ACK!
I hope there are more like this and more advanced stuff. I like the commentary of the logic and potential notes I should have. The problem with the AACP classes is that it is just so technical and so many numbers. Watching someone work through it is the stuff I’m missing from a real classroom experience. That’s required in the class but it’s hard to do when you are completely lost in something that seemed so easy at first.
9-5-2023 - Loved this video. I'm 4 weeks into a coding class at my local technical school and I'm having a hard time understanding how to use the Bucks ICD -10-CM book. Your explanation helped. Thank you!! Please make more step by step videos.
Thank you entirely. You have assisted me in learning how to navigate my ICD 10. I would love to see basic, intermediate, and complex examples. I loved how you put the words on the screen. That allowed me to pause the system. and search each example. I truly enjoyed this at 3am in the morning!!!!
Thank you for posting these videos. I'm going to school currently to be a medical records technician. I just tabbed my ICD-10-CM code book. The code book is intimidating and huge. This video gave me a piece of mind. I've subscribed and will be looking forward to more of your posts.
Thank you so much for this video. I am currently in classes now and felt a little lost. Not it is starting to click and make sense! I love your videos!!!!
Hello, Victoria! I hope and trust you're well! Thank you for all you do! I am happy to inform you that I have passed my CPC Exam! Hope you enjoy the rest of your day! God Bless you!
the way you start small is excellent. give a person the chance to gain some feel for the icd code book. then gain some confidence slowly. makes a difference.
Can I just tell you that you are such a great teacher! I don’t understand the way my professor is teaching ICD-10-CM , I always end up checking your videos and walk away with great understanding! Thanks!
I am currently enrolled in an online program (still working on the first Medical Terminology course) but I am very excited and anxious to get to the Medical Billing and Coding course! This is very helpful and I’d like to see how it is put into the computer program after being found in the ICD.
This was very helpful as it helps us to develop critical thinking skills to determine exactly which codes are the correct ones to select and the process for getting there. Thank you so much!
Yes could you please continue to do more videos that you show us what to do exactly. And a video that helps us understand how to pick out the main words would be great! Thanks you are very helpful!
Thank you for these videos. New coder. I got to a community College, take my exams in August. I'm taking my first Coding class this semester and it's so hard!!!
Thank you so much for this demonstration! It is very helpful. Please add more complicated videos. I am learning on my own and your videos are quite helpful
Hello how are you? I watch yr shows all the time and they helped Me pass my Medical Billing and Coding Self-Study class at Tri-County Technical College in PENDLETON, SC
I was wondering if you had any extra 2022 coding books? I got my study guide book on Wednesday but my Coding books from this program were from 2021. I want to be proficient as possible by Coding from updated books. I have limited income of $900.00 a month disability that comes from a Blood Clot Disorder in my legs.I could really use the help with books.I researched library's and No Coding books available.. I said to myself Don't let that define your Total overall ability of what you can do! After laying around in hospital I thought there is NOTHING wrong with My Arms, Brain, Eyes, or Fingers. That's how I got to Coding programs. I started my journey back in 2012 but I had to quit because of constant clotting in/out of hospital. So now, Im here and I Thank God everyday.
Any New York City watching your video because I'm in school for medical billing and coding and I didn't know how difficult it was to learn this crazy wonderful field ❤🎉
@@timeisapathwalkingtounderstand I’m on New York City. I just started medical billing and coding classes. I just go to the ICD-10 chapters and it’s so overwhelming but we got this!
I was always scared to try MBC because I thought coding and the ICD would give me so much confusion, but the way you have broke the ICD down I definitely want to give MCB a try
I’m so excited, I’m about to start the Medical coding program in August, been watching your videos and I think I am going to love this as a career, I am currently a CNA, (certified nurse assistant). But thinking of a different career path in the medical field and I have always like computer works I really hope this is for me.
I just found your page and OMG you have become my life saver. I'm actually in school right now to get mt CCA and I want to get other certificates. I also saw in another video that you don't need schooling to get your certifications like the RHIT? Or is it just like my CCS?
Neither is better than the other. Most people that want to get into inpatient coding go through AHIMA. Those that want to do professional fee coding or Risk Adjustment will go through AAPC. There are certain approved degree programs you need to go through for the RHIT or RHIA that is not needed for the CCA or CCS. AAPC has no strict requirements -- just recommendations. For example, medical terminology may be listed as pre-requisite but you don't have to go through a specific program or submit any proof of training.
@@ContempoCoding thank you for that information. I have a month and a half left in my course program. Is there anything wrong with being double certified for through both AHIMA and AAPC??
Hi Victoria. Thanks a lot for the awesome videos. Leart a lot from you. Whenever you get time, can you please make a short video explaining the difference between ICD-10 PCS and the CPT codes.
more videos like these please! i just started cpc course and one of the questions was to find the code for 'Neoplasms malignancy in abdominal cavity' and i could not figure it out
This was so helpful. It helped so much as my program is online and some of the stuff can get confusing. Especially the excluded 1 and exclude 2. That confuses me a bit. 😅
Good Morning Victoria, I was previously a CPC, passed at first exam and over 25 years in healthcare. After the clinic I was working for closed I unfortunately let my certification expire. This was in 2013. I’ve watched several of your videos and feel fairly confident in my coding skills. I have worked with ICD-10 codes in my previous job. I’m thinking of ordering books and taking exam. Should I take refresher course or sit for exam? I love coding, the research, reading chart notes, etc. I read medical journals for fun, lol. Most of my coding experience was in a physician office setting. I’d welcome your feedback. Love your videos ♥️
Your videos are so helpful. I think it is difficult to find webinars or CEUs that focus on outpatient coding. Could you do a video with some encounter scenarios for outpatient coding?
Q: so when you say “when we see a description of the illness” like UTI, ok so can you do a mock up on the actual kind of paperwork you’re getting this information from? Like the paperwork or image you see, thanks

FYI - I bought a small white board (9x12) in preparation for my CPC exam online (based on your video) and have found that useful looking up codes instead of scrap paper.
I realized its 9 months later but if you happen to see this. how has having a small white board helped you

Same here!
Same! I feel totally unprepared and I went to a University. Has it gotten easier for you? I'm nervous
I wish I knew about you when I was taking my CPC certification. This is so simplified and easy to understand. I will definitely keep watching and hopefully I’ll be able to pass!!!!

I believe those books are on .pdf books and from there it would be easier to find the exact code or number using control CTRL find

I am just beginning my ICD-10-CM coding instruction for my class and found your video very helpful! I love the step by step instructions. Thank you!
Absolutely do more, begging you. There are enormously helpful and easy to understand.
This has helped me more than the that classes I’ve paid to be in! Thank you!!
This is so much easier to understand than the way it's written in the AAPC course.
