I have NEVER been asked to see my portfolio in the 17 years since I graduated, lol. I realized after the first few interviews that it was a waste of time during our college classes to put these together. More and more I have been asked to do demo lessons which I had never been asked in years prior.

Same! The demo is probably more accurate!

You’re right. I’ve never been asked for my portfolio during an interview. However, in NJ where I teach, our portfolio or binder is a major component of our evaluations. Our binder is graded using The Danielson Rubric.

Thank you for your time and being a resource. I shared your channel with my online classmates as we are about to graduate. I thought this could help with some of the little parts that we are not super comfortable with yet.

Thank you so much for posting and sharing your experiences with us. This video was extremely helpful. Your responses to the interview questions made me think of experiences I had forgotten about that I could discuss and elaborate on for my interview. I think you did fabulous on both your lesson and interview. Thank you again. I'm curious, did you get a call back for a job offer from the district you wanted to work for?
