I found this channel searching for a landscape tutorial like this. Its been about one year I am subscribed. I love the other videos, but I'm happy to see a new video about it.
This is such a beautiful tutorial! I was wondering if sometime you could make a video explaining how to build it into a game. Like how to make a playable level using the artwork. Such as making a consistent background throughout a level, or what file size to make the images, or how to make the character walk flat on uneven ground. Of course, your videos are awesome no matter what you make. Keep up the great work!
When you aren't sure whether the chills you have are from the nostalgic track, the aura of Bob Ross, or the cold smoothie you are drinking while watching haha
Love it! You're officially my 2D Bob Ross! You should create a 100-episode series and you will become the 2D mouse-art Bob Ross for centuries, not kidding. This is inspiring because mouse is widely accessible and not everyone has a tablet (or knows how to draw with one even when they buy), so these tips and tricks are invaluable. Obviously we won't inherit your unique artstyle - this is just pure creativity, but at least we can learn the toolkit of tips and tricks
Would love to see how would you save the file and use it in your game, amazing tutorial as always🙏🏼 I subscribed to your email newsletter lately and it really encouraged me to start building the game I was procrastinating forever 😅 Again thankyou!
IMO art in this style should be made in vector. It’s the same process almost entirely, but you use pen and gradients instead of select and paint. Then you can export at any resolution, allowing you to reuse the art even if you need a closer up shot. Vector is awesome.
Another great tutorial video T! Thanks for sharing 🙏 If you are taking requests, i'd love to see how you would go about a 2d interior using these principles.
Great video! In the first nine seconds was that the stage intro music from Wave Race 64? Idk why that stuck out to me lol but it grabbed my attention 🤣
Please more tutorials like this! I would love to learn more about graphics... I know you have a course for that and a lot more, but I don't have money for that and I don't think I'm getting one free 😅 Great work!
Love your videos, they are really helpfull, please if you can, make one explaining how to go from photoshop to unity (I know you have one like that, but i would like one more detailed) and using the features of the last unity update.. you are the best teacher online that i have found yet =D so thank you!!!
One thing (only thing) I don’t like about these videos is how you make these beautiful sceneries but I can’t see how you would implement it into a game. From a still shot to a big traversable landscape… should I just make multiple of these shots and clip them together or how should I go about that?
Thanks for watching! Hope you learned a ton.

Shoot, you do this so fast, whereas I spend a good 10-15 minutes on one hill. 😂
@@mackywackydeejew Well just to be clear I fastfoward on this video several times :) Don't stress!
Can you try do a cave landscape with a platform in front 🤔
Could we get a link to your brushes?
I'm loving the Bob Ross vibes in this video, I'd love to see more of these!
I'm getting some serious Bob Ross vibes. Bob Ross vibes are always desired and appreciated.
Agreed
I was thinking the exact same thing... Bob Ross of game dev. All he had to say was "Happy little tree" and I would've cracked up.
I was thinking the same thing- I was like: Bob Brush? Thomas Ross? Either way, I'm not complaining
I thought I was the only one lol
"We don't make mistakes, we just have happy accidents" Bob Ross
I LOVE that Donkey Kong music in the background! Childhood memories!
Lmao that intro was hilarious 🤣 . Really on your PBS instructional video vibe. Bob Ross
lol honestly i feel at home when I think about that stuff

I'd love to see your process through the retro 3D art you've been doing lately :)

Did he use vector art in this video?
We may not know what's supposed to look "perfect" but we all know what looks good. And this, this looks good.
*Ok I just watched the video, and this is epic! So beautiful!*
Aquatic Ambience literally makes everything better.
When you aren't sure whether the chills you have are from the nostalgic track, the aura of Bob Ross, or the cold smoothie you are drinking while watching haha
I knew the song immediately! Loved that level in DK Country! I think it was because of this song.
How dare you drop Aquatic Ambience on me while you're making awesome low-poly shadows you beautiful bastard

All of these backgrounds are very different from each other
Very Cool.
You're a huge inspiration Thomas! 💓💓

SynfigStudio?
Another great vid. Would be good to see how you connect your scenes together when the character moves from to another.
Another great tutorial video T! Thanks for sharing 🙏 If you are taking requests, i'd love to see how you would go about a 2d interior using these principles.
Thanks for this video, it’s so coool
I live in austria so yeah you could call it an austrian landscape. Maybe more trees xD but as far as the rest goes pretty austrian stuff lol
simply: WOW
Your videos are so helpful 😍
Would you consider making a similar tutorial like this but for how you write your music?
ruclips.net/video/bOf6prNp3r0/видео.html
Great video! In the first nine seconds was that the stage intro music from Wave Race 64? Idk why that stuck out to me lol but it grabbed my attention 🤣
Nice vid! You are a great teacher! I've signed up for the free game kit but haven't received a download link nor an email?

THE MUSIC!!!

Donkey Kong Country water level song brings some nice nostalgia.
