You mention a lot about "Pull over" in Sweden, we are very good at driving to the side when emergency vehicles come with blue lights and siren 🚨 Time 6:38 The lamp that flashes white is a flash light to make itself more visible at a distance. But it can also be used as extra light Time: 10:25 The police new truck that transports horses
No not at all! When there is plenty of room to drive to the side, perhaps, but few understand that it is ok to, for example, drive onto the pavement to make room for emergency vehicles. Last night I saw a clip that someone filmed from an office window. Someone tried to pocket park below while the police with their sirens on couldn't get past. The staff in the office where it was filmed stood and laughed nervously. The police finally had to get out of the police car and ask the person to pull up on the sidewalk so they could pass. Worst was the comment section where almost everyone thought the laughter from the filming office workers was about someone being bad at parking. Almost no one understood that the whole clip was about the person not moving for an emergency vehicle. Those in the comments who pointed this out were told that you are not allowed to drive on the sidewalk. I couldn't sleep afterwards because I was so full of adrenaline and the realization that only a minority seems to know that it is ok to cautiously break traffic rules to let those who are trying to save lives pass. In England, however, they understand this. I witnessed an ambulance come driving down Oxford Street in London once. Anyone who has been there knows how packed it is both on the road and on the pavement. Simultaneously, all the cars pulled up onto the sidewalk and everyone on the sidewalks rushed into the nearest store. There was no question - the priority is saving lives, not traffic rules. The person who needed that ambulance would have died if this happened in Sweden.
@@olsa76 You are required by law to make it easier for emergency vehicles to pass, but you are not allowed to break traffic rules, even in such situations. On the other hand, the probability that you would be charged if you break the law in those situations (for example, running a red light) is very low.
@@olsa76 A few, or even 20 experiences can't account for the majority of emergency situations. What you've seen in real life or in videos is not enough to be considered a fact.

the signs in the windows are for special commandings, like football games, demonstrations etc. - easy way for the people in charge to identify units, they're usually called simple things like Delta 4, Charlie 11 etc. @8:40 is a motorcade, could be the king, prime minister during an official visit etc. Funny fact, I've been in a motorcade from Hyatt Regency to AT&T stadium with lots of rent-a-cops on Harley's and in Crown vic's blocking traffic for us, we probably made the trip in 20 minutes during rush hour and cars were crashing due to the police extremely quick stops of traffic - it was wild!
6:37 that ”sticker” on the side means that it’s a K9 car 😊 11:57 that’s a parade by the royal guards of Sweden 😊 You ask why we don’t pull over; we’re supposed to give clear way but keep driving, not stop since that can make it harder for them to get by and can make the traffic be all fucked up. So this is how we learn to do, Even tho there for sure are people not doing that and shopping up the traffic for them or just not giving free way at all too. Also: you asked how often we see police in Sweden in cities, big as small, you see police a couple to multiple times a day so they’re pretty good at driving around and getting ”seen”.
Before you could recognize an unmarked police car (Civil police car) by looking underneath the rear bumper and checking the licence plate holder. They used to have no plate holder advert and auxiliary strobe lights under the bumper. Some also had two auxiliary high beam lights in the front. The new ones have plate adverts and no visible auxiliary lights or strobes. This is why I always take it easy when I see white, grey or black Volvos, Audi's, BMWs, Mercs and VWs. You never know unless you take up your phone and run the license plate.
4:13 theyre probably responding to shooting. This is in the south of the inner city, they are heading southbound to the hoods of southern stockholm where there are a lot of shootings
we do pull to the side "if" needed, most of the encounters here pulling to the side would just slow down traffic for no reason, swedes are good at driving making traffic predictable and easy to get around as a cop. Note in mind even if a police car comes and i pull up on the sidewalk to make space is "illegal" and so is drive forward at a red light making way for emergency vehicles is also "illegal" but noone minds cuz its a "you help me so i can help you" kind of situation.
You ask why we don't pull over, I've asked this too and here it is; In Sweden we're taught to give space for them to pass - preferably without reducing speed and to only stop if absolutely neccessary as it increases the risk of other incidents or delay of the emergency services. This means you have to make a judgement based on where you are, in the city, in an urban area or out in the country side.
