This is awesome! We just recently added a 2nd and 3rd camera in our church setup and I'm in charge of being the video director. I learned a lot just by watching this. Specially that we need a better comm system hahaha. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
I appreciate all the constructive feedback you're giving to the camera operators, and I'm sure they do as well.
Thanks!
Its beautiful... they are both in sync with each other.
Wow. Great job calling the shots Matt. Brilliant execution by the tech team. Always full of positive reinforcement for the camera ops and, clearly, knowing the nuances of the performance.
Thanks Larry! It's been a few years now since I last directed a live production, but stuff like this was definitely the most fun part of my old job. It was great to work with some really talented non-professional operators...we all learned and grew in our craft together. And they had a ton of grace and patience with me ;)
Love this!!
Not enough white light to the front. Lots of cropping errors.
Where are your spot ops ? I feel bad for your shader lol
Huge THANKS! Do cam operators have monitors so they can see when they are live?
The operators used SmallHD AC7 monitors for composition, and there was a separate tally light system (I don't recall the manufacturer). In this case, we had modified Panasonic HPX250 camcorders for live production use.
The tally lights received a feed from the control room via CAT5 and were powered via USB from the monitors.
thanks! are the operators taught to cover certain musicians or specific areas so they dont all get the same person?
That mainly comes down to my knowledge of the music and preparation for the shoot as the director. I'm pretty specific about what I want each camera to cover, based on my preproduction process, but I always appreciate experienced operators who can sell me shots I can use at any given time.
Thanks again!
Please what comma did you use?
If you mean what camera, this was shot with 3x Panasonic HPX-250s
@@MattMealer ohh yes.. sorry autocorrect, Spanish keyboard ..
