If you were like me and had short patience, you would have left the video at the beginning. But if you're also as dumb as me, you'd remember that you can't go back a page if you opened it in a new window. The good news is that you'd have listened to some good music by not leaving. I apologize for my short patience but this music is great.
This reminds me a lot of 12th street rag: the way that the whole song uses one key progression and a melody that's based off of one scale. I think in this case it's the blues scale. The melody sounds nice and, yes, there are minor changes in the notes, but I think it would sound better if there were more breaks from the main melody or different parts altogether. As it stands the whole piece gives the same feeling and never builds up to much except in the introduction. Take 12th street rag for example, the main melody is broken up at set intervals to provide a sort of 'response' to the 'call' of the main melody. This makes the song more interesting and adds variety. In your song, I would have added a breakdown at 1:05 since at this point the main melody has been established. In the breakdown, the left land would become soft and staccato. Then the right hand would would play some new melody in a lower octave to provide some contrast. It may not work but I'm just throwing out ideas. Overall it's a great song. I can't wait to see other compositions you post. If you find these tips useful I'll be extremely glad. Here's a link to Aaron Robinson's rendition of 12th street rag if you haven't heard it before. ruclips.net/video/tnFWgQT0bZQ/видео.html
Absolutely love this. My skills at piano are still far away from being able to do this, but keeps me going to think that maybe someday.... Meanwhile, I watch this every now and then.
Thank you! If you liked this you should check out the direct sequel, “Daytime Groovin’”! Only if you want to ofc but I personally put a lot more effort into that one than this, and I feel that the other one is a bit better. Cheers!
Love that you played geometry dash in the past! I love some of the music that game hasn’t given me. Who knows, it could’ve kept my love for music going for as long as it has!! ❤❤
Edit: did you compose this score? Subbed. Well deserved will recommend. Wish I could see you play this to see how much you get into the music. I personally never stop moving when playing stride, swing, ragtime. Any of the 3 king styles of piano, I love it when you know it and memorize it so well, that you can start looking away and playing certain parts and after a long time look away during ragtime completely. It’s fascinating, Pianos such a gift.
What a great track I just vision about a 1930s detective trying to track down a case and encounters thugs and criminals along the way which he has to fight his way out of to discover the truth
G'day, sir. I am making music for my friends and your ragtime compositions are godly, and I was wondering if you could make a tutorial and/or point in the direction of making music in this style better. Also wondering if I could remix this as it is one of my favorite ragtime pieces ever, and your talent is unprecidented! Thanks
A neat tune, sounds a bit like something that would be arranged in electro swing! Which also I need to point out that this isn't ragtime, it's swing or just modern jazz, ragtime was the predecessor to this music. The most obvious thing is that ragtime isn't swung xD
This is a nice one as well. Decided to give your sheets a look-over. I saw you notated all those swing sixteenths in tuplet form. Xd Poor Sight-readers... heheh. I'd suggest just putting 'swing sixteenths above the sheets, or just 'swing'. Experienced ragtime players will know it has to be the sixteenths that are swung, since the bass is notated in eights. Just my two cents, from my experience writing and playing ragtime. I quite like this one. It has great bass work, and I like the use of triplets too. Maybe a bit too monotonous near the end, but it has decent variation throughout.
Can you explain to me how your hitting 12’s ? Lol I thought maybe slide the right over but nope it’s being used lol I wanna make this my next project but that seems insane do you got a popsicle stick on your left thumb or what
how on earth does this only have 95 likes?? shit's outstanding
Thanks! I try.

technically dis is not rag time cuz its swinging and when ragtime was a thing swing was not invented yet for music so yeah its still very good

I actually liked it so much that i looped it and started playing it in the background all the time 😂Great work
Incredible song! I love ragtime, songs that are unique, and still manage to sound good. Definitely all 3.
It's stuff like this that makes ragtime a genre. Amazing job.

Even if its "just a sligtly longer demo" I still like this song, and its one of my faviorite piano pieces out there.

btw what software do u use to make midi files
Flat.io, it's a free online notation software similar to musecore. Then import them into FL Studio usually.
Damn! This guy lets his fingers dance on the piano
Very nice😎
awesome!
Sounds like an electro swing type of beat too!

@jalen green this is a great track. Would you ever write some music for characters, or on commission
ive been thinking about it actually. right now im getting vsts and stuff like that for fl so i can :D. for now though im sticking to sheet music.
