- From 2009-02-07. Noel Edmonds speaking on his Sky One show, Noel's HQ about the case of a former soldier who had been denied planing permission to build a bungalow.
This show was live but when it was repeated the following day on Sky Two this segmant was edited quite a bit (see my other video for the Sky Two version). I expect in this form the video breaks certain Ofcom codes as Noel Edmonds is suggesting how people should vote in any upcoming elections. Its also quite a personal attack and the person working for the council was not given a right to reply (although the council itself was in the form of the statement read by Keith Chegwin).
I have put this video under RUclips's 'entertainment' category. I hope Noel doesn't mind. It is also listed under entertainment on Sky's EPG.
Context is everything so these articles may be suitable further reading material if you are interested in the story being discussed...

'Don't dismiss us as an entertainment show.'
They've all got foam gloves on...
Tbf, it isn't entertaining.
Didn't know it was Gladiators.
Shatner's Bassoon.
Hahahahaha
What an appalling error of judgement the council are making, calling Noel's HQ an entertainment show.
"Well I've got a message for you Mr Van der Bose" Hilarious
Total Patrridge!
Rumour has it that Noel was packing one of Lord Byron's duelling pistols while shouting at the camera.
"Bring on my Big Pocket! Bring it on!"
This is pure Alan partridge
every time i see the phrase "Noel Edmonds speaks with passion" i crack up all over again
are you joking
I did love Knowing Me, Knowing You, and I'm so pleased, on the basis of the above clip, that it went to a second series, keeping the Noel's Big Pocket segment.
Looking forward to 'Noel's Monkey Tennis'.
"BRING ON MY BIG POCKET NOW!!! BRING IT ON!!!"
"Don't dismiss us as an entertainment show"
Oh thank god. I wasn't in the least bit entertained.
He'll be driving to Dundee in his bare feet next...
Van den Bos is just a lowly Press Officer, as in a communicator of information. He didn't make a decision for planning permission ffs 😂
It tickles me that a civil servant may have gone home one night and settled down in front of the TV, only to see Noel Edmonds mention him by name and say he wants to "fight" "people like him".
It's also pleasing to know that Jim van den Bos still works for Wealdon District Council in the same role.
Perfect programme for Daily Mail readers.
Ranttastic. I hope this video is allowed to stay- it's remarkable. Thanks for sharing.
It stayed until at least 2021
Did you want longer or have your hopes been met?
I know I'm right! Nick Clegg... He's behind us.
The brand new state-of-the-art wheelchair is pure comedy gold!
Hahah!
"I know he loves the great outdoors so here's a mutant BMX"
Noels anger had nothing to do with the soliders case but everything to do with his ego. The fact that "entertainment show" triggered him off says everything.
D-I-N-G - D-O-N-G - D-I-N-G - D-O-N-G
"Oooooooooooohhhhhhh, Blobby!!!"
*Knocks priceless vase over*
for 7 years, that was the epitome of British primetime.....
The bloke from the council really knew how to trigger that beardy little megalomaniac.
The unveiling of the wheelchair is just like something from Alan's Big Pocket. I bet he's stocking up on medium sized Toblerones as we speak.
"i created this show - i dont get paid for it."
does this mean his production company give it away for free and run at a loss?
you are sickening Edmonds.
104 dislikes are from people who thought they had a month to cross the road..... or maybe from partridge's *104* friends
"I've never been this angry (in a studio)"
in the description of this video, it was said that it had broken OFCOM rules as the person had 'no right to reply'. Noel said that the council DECLINED to appear on the show, therefore bypassing their right to reply !! go Noel !!
"I will break you, Mr Van den Bose! I will f*cking destroy you!" 🤣😂
I can't stop watching!
RIP Mr Van Den Bos
Mark Prince and The Fight Against Knife Crime is my new hardcore band
Noel's right: it's not an entertainment show. Not even close to an entertainment show.
noel edmonds is a great person he makes peoples lives better
Needles to say he had the last laugh.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I actually agreed with the planning decision on this. They would have had to take a year to build a house on the nice green field. In that time they could have moved to a different house with a bungalow next door.
Just because you've had your legs off in service of the country shouldn't give you the right to ride roughshod over the planning rules.
If the council had barred him from making his house wheelchair friendly, they would have been fair game
Would have been a great time for Mr Blobby to come and hug Noel.
No income tax, no VAT! No income tax, no VAT! No income tax, no VAT! No income tax, no VAT! No income tax, no VAT! No income tax, no VAT! No income tax, no VAT!
Im in total agreement- its not too late for Britain to return to its former greatness but we all to work together for it to happen.
We must support our heroes
Pure partridge, excellent stuff!
You don't f*** with Noel😁
As the original author of that paragraph, thanks for agreeing with me. The messsages here do make me feel better - it's always nice to see people feel the same way.
Oh, and noel edmonds is now watching me on twiter! oh noes! The edmonds party van is outside my house!
I've not got a bad word to say about Noel and he's just standing for what he thinks is right and what he believes in you can't knock him for that, any of you people slagging him off know that if you felt strongly enough about something you would do that same!
Keith Chegwin and Noel Edmonds taking the moral high ground?
You have to fucking wonder sometimes, don't you.
The whole programme was surreal. No surprise to see that insulting, pernicious, vicious, cow Carole Malone to appear on it, either.
"I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!" say it with him everyone! "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore! I'm mad has hell and I'm not going to take this anymore"
anyone else getting the feeling that Noel's more annoyed about being called an entertainment show rather than the issue at hand?
love for mr blobby to come out!
"OHHHHHH!!!!! BLOBBY BLOBBY BLOBBYYYYY!!!!!!?" and wrestles Noel to the floor! 🤣
The drama is that Joe Townsend lost both his legs whilst serving us abroad, and came home to find his local council acted without any compassion and, narrowly, decided not to allow him some independence in his rehabilitation. Noel Edmonds might be light entertainment pap, often at its worst, but in this case he is standing up for one horrifically injured man who wants to be cared for by his family. He's helped give Joe a voice, and for that he should be commended.
"as if you really give a fuck about them (which you dont)"
"you probably support"
Dangerous presumptions to make about someone you dont even know
The love on Cheggers' face. He's thinking "Go on Noel, get all up in that Mr Vandenbose's shit".
Wouldn't it be wonderful if, just by chance, a 'jobsworth' council health and safety officer was called Michael Lush. Imagine the look on Edmunds' face!
Not that I like press officers particularly, but I think most people would think Noel Edmonds is much more symptomatic of "everything that's wrong with this country." And at least poor Mr Van der Bose has never been partly responsible for a man falling to his death and, even worse, Mr Blobby.
I'm Noel Edmonds. A-haaaaaaa!
Entertainment? They have big foam hands!
Council refuses planning permission after review, refuses to talk about it on over-the-hill deejay's TV show. Deejay does his nut. The only surprising thing is that said Deejay *expects* council to take him seriously.
I disagree with what Jeffrey44 has written about the Council not being given an opportunity to respond to Noel's outburst. The Council and the person involved were given an opportuinty to come on the show and REFUSED! Also, I think everyone missed the point of what Noel was trying to achieve - a soldiers right to live in a home suitable for his needs. A soldier who was injured in the line of duty. And it was this Council and the Press Officer who denied the soldiers right to build this home.
Bloody hell Noel really got going there! Well done Noel - you're a great bloke.
And I thought Cheap Cheap Cheap was the worst show he ever did
AS Gaming21 You are wrong. Cheap Cheap Cheap was quite good. Edmonds has never really put a foot wrong when it comes to television.
Noel Edmonds really is shameless. The mock outrage just to get a cheap clap and cheer from the audience fills ME with rage! That man only cares about himself, and anything he does is a vanity project.
Yes thanks for that. Another extremely wise and mature comment that is in stark contrast to the offensive compassion displayed on this show.
I'm hopping mad and I want something in the middle
so refreshing as we all think and whisper in doorways what we would do.....and those of us who shout in doorways cant change anything on there own....noel edmunds me and my friends are so proud of you...and hope you continue with helping and being the voice of the people..well done sir....you are a breath of fresh air in a country that gets crazier by the second.
well said Noel
well done noel, well said. you're certainly getting more support from your audience than some of the replies on this you tube Page
Noel Edmonds. Noel EdmOnds.
This is amazin, Noel Edmonds and Kieth Cheguin vs. the world! =oP
What is he more annoyed about, the poor soldier not getting his planning permission or the fact the council refused to talk to his entertainment show!
Couldn't agree more!
I f##king love this show!!!! Noel's a bloody legend.
It's just embarrassing when celebrities do this.
Spot on Noel! the idiots on this commentary snaring at Noels comments is just soooo sad! What Noel said is so true, give the royal marine lad a chance to live after serving a falling country!
Imagine what he would've done if the council said 'No deal'.
the real tragedy here is that this show even exists
“Who pays your money” shouldn’t it be “Remember you are a public servant, who pays your salary”
I dont support any political party for two reasons:
1. Im 15 years old
2. Theyve all alienated me
hello
Ross Noble recommends this on the Chris Moyles show and it hasn’t disappointed!
Ross Noble the Aussie biker? Was this a recent broadcast or historical in nature? Where would I hear the archive audio?

Am surprised by some of the comments on here seemingly making fun of this situation. Making light of a man who has served his country, who is now disabled due to this service, who simply wished to build an adapted building next to his grandparents house. The Council were invited to take part in this programme but declined to do so. I can totally understand Mr Edmonds anger.
Does anyone else think this is a bit like watching Alan Partridge?
I thought Edmonds lived in France because he doesn't want his children influenced by British televisiont.
While I feel sorry for this young soldier chap, the fact is this bungalow is being proposed on greenbelt land. Just because this lad has been horrifically injured in the line of duty, it doesn't make him exempt from the law. What next, war veterans are allowed to get away with armed robbery or murder? Edmonds, you sanctimonious, pompous, little man, you've lost the plot!
Noel is a LEGEND
I heard about this and expected it to be the insincere, ego-inflating charade that a lot of people seem to think it is. However, he does genuinely seem symapthetic to this soldier's cause, which I'm sure most people would if the council have treated him as shabbily as reported. I mean, Whatever happened to 'Homes fit for Heroes'?
Those people who ridicule his passion need to question how much THEY care about others or anything other than appearing superior to the 'ignorant' proletariat.
So the guy who refuses a poor guy his right to an easier life is a saint is he?
That's a common mistake. We're not, absolutely not, making fun - or even light of this tragic story of a brave solider who fought bravely and was seriously injured in the process.
What we object to is Mr. Edmonds and his cohorts making a shoddy, cheap and clearly cynical television programme. Noel's HQ is simply a vehicle for Noel to smarm his way back onto our television screens, and if you think it's anything else, then they've got you.
I hope Clive Anderson doesn't do anything to upset Edmonds in future otherwise Edmonds really might shoot him and then barricade himself on Anderson's roof armed with precision weapons.
The next foe I will defeat: the mighty flea!
Noel got denied building permission on something of his own also.
Send Blobby round to the council!!!!
The word hypocrite was made for this man. The reason he's doing this show for no fee is because he doesn't need the money - he's making massive amounts of filthy lucre from "Deal or No Deal".
He works in the same way as The Sun newspaper, or the BNP. On the surface he says "come on in, say hello - I think in the same way as you, you'll like me". Then once you're reeled in by the emotional blackmail, he reveals his true colours. A deeply sinister man.
well said, totaly agree. noel lives on my road. i pulled out in front of his range rover yesterday, sorry noel!
I wouldn't like to be in Mr Vandenbose's shoes right now. Lets hope he does the right thing
I has listened to both sides of the argument... me don't really understand either of them, but me is well up for a ruck.
I need a gif of "This country really is in a shocking state"
My favourite show? Noel’s HQ
The reason? Edmonds
Noel's House Party was clearly the better show, and despite many people suffering from the Mandela Effect and thinking it was presented by Mr Blobby, also heavily featured Mr Edmonds. Therefore, Noel's House Party should be your favourite show. Please reassess your opinion immediately.
@@jeffrey44 I have reassessed but come to the same conclusion. I would also put Deal or no deal above Noel’s House Party. Telly addicts too.
@@stanmonzon5788 Wow. What happened to you? Were you gunged or made the star of NTV or something? Deal or no Deal better than Noel's House Party? Deal or no Deal wasn't even Edmond's best Channel 4 gameshow. That was, the ahead of it's time, Cheap Cheap Cheap.
And I really hope for your sake that you are trolling when you say Telly Addicts is better than Noel's House Party. If you truly believe that then please seek professional help.
@@jeffrey44 you’ve got me all wrong. I loved the House Party. Best thing on tv at the time. However Edmonds’ output went for strength to strength as you’d expect. I’m not into all his asking the universe nonsense, but his tv shows are incredible.
I CREATED THIS SHOW. I KNOW I'M RIGHT. NICK CLEGG IS BEHIND ME. DAVID CAMERON IS BEHIND ME. WHEELDON DISTRICT COUNCIL. WHO PAYS YOUR MONEY?
he is insane.
im pretty sure when keith chegwin looked at noel mid rant there was a look of love in his eyes i havent seen since i last saw gary nevile and david beckham play together, brough a tear to my eye
I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!
Did the "head of press" guy take any action against Edmonds?
Keith Chegwin's face throughout this is a picture.
Hear hear. The thought of Chegwin and his "intrusive erection" is one that may well haunt my waking nightmares.
How old is this clip? Because the late Kieth Chegwin was been gone for some
time, and Noel Idmonds has now lived in NZ for the the past few years.
Well said Noel!
Actualy it was a Tory council responsible for this.
