Good video , Kim......But Daniel is right! Your kit is only good for starting a50cc scooter, max 100cc , but even in this case your nickel strips are really too thin. Please weld 2 strips or more , it's the minimum! A simple 400CC needs 80/100A for start...with your pack the strips are dead. And connect the white balance switch on the BMS only AFTER soldering the balance wires + control with voltmeter : if you make a mistake the BMS will suffer. Well , your pack works, but perhaps not for a long time...The best would be 4x2 cells in // to avoid maximal use of Amps per cell for every start (really not good for lifetime). Hi KIM Tinal thank you for the video. Before buying a 4s 10A BMS card and IRF32650 cells for my moto, I was looking for to ensure that I did right choice. Now I'm quite confused. May you explain why should I use 80A instead 10A for 6Ah batteries?
because of starting current of the motor starter. even if your battery is 6Ah, but it doesn't mean that we use only 6A or 10A. the main function of the battery in motorcycle is to start the engine. and the starting is very high at the first second that we start it could take 5 to 10 time to its nominal current. and that why we need high current bms to handle this application.
I've built this 5 months ago using 8x 26650 3.2V 3800mAH, total of 7.6AH coupled with 16V 83F supercapacitor, but now it seem like it doesn't hold charge for long anymore. Any suggestion why it dropped?
@@kimtinal9353 thanks for the fast reply, I'll post the result again when I have checked them. I also use a cheap standard BMS for LiFePO4 not sure if that BMS failed. I also want to check the cables and relay for power leakage. Is charging it with a 15V 30A adaptor would kill the battery? I have charge them several times with that and I think the problem started after I did that. Now I'm turning down the adaptor voltage to 14.4V for charging.
@@rx6910 30A charging current is too much for 7.6Ah battery, my friend. as i know for lifepo4 battery you better charge it at 0.5C if it was in box so the battery will not heat up. 0.5C mean 3.8A charging current for your battery. it could be charge at 1C but if your bms has temperature sensor protection. other wise i don't think your BMS could handle 30A charging current or not. may be BMS could broken .
@@kimtinal9353 I better order a new and better BMS then, after I checked the battery individually. I use a 30A CCTV box adaptor for charging, so I guess I'll need to buy a suitable charger also. Any suggestion of a good LiFePO4 battery pack charger? I don't know any LiFePO4 charger. Anyway thank you so much for the reply and info.
for charger i don't have any brand cause most product that is use are China brand. but the work well if you pick the right one that suitable to your battery. for your battery 7.6Ah you should looking for 3A charger.
So you need this cell type 16 cells. You connect it 4 in parallel and those 4 parallels in series. 4 parallel to get 24Ah and 4 in series to get 12.6V. You may need at least 100A continuous current BMS for this battery, i recommend 200A BMS.
I watched a video and the guy said that the alternator may blow up the BMS circuit, any problem with yours for using it for a year? What if it is a sport bike, 1000cc, the constant high rpm on the bike will cause the alternator to keep working, will this give higher chance of blowing up BMS and other things?
13.8v is still higher then the battery rated voltage. 1 lifepo4 cell is about 3.2v then 4 in series it would be 12.4V, the bms max voltage is about 14.6V, so the battery will never over charge. 13.8v for lifepo4 is about full, and good for starting motorcycle engine.
it is high surge current bms, this bms is designed for starting the engine, seller claim. continuous current is 40A and pulse current is up to 120A for 4 minutes.
sorry for late reply, better not use the LA battery parameter to find the LiFePO4 to replace it cause we will use it to start the engine so the better parameter is the engine volume or the starting current of the starter is much better. you may check @christine DEMARET comment bellow: christine DEMARET Good video , Kim......But Daniel is right! Not a good idea. These batteries are 1c rated only so u can maximum draw 6amp safely and a bike starter motor pulls like 50 to 70amps. And if the engine is larger than 200cc it can be upto 100amp. For few seconds .

No way I'm gonna used this cheap chinese batteries...lithium battery are notorious on thermal runaway...dangerous on wet situations...but if you are achmed fanatics build one for yourself...I'll stick to factory installed battery for safety concern
the supply power in is 16V but the charging voltage for the battery is 14.6V if every cell reach 3.65V but we never get that perfect balance. and after any cell reach 3.65V the BMS will cut off to protect charged cell then the whole battery voltage will drop between 13.5V to 14V depending on battery chemical combine.
