another brilliant video, i have browsed through your channel and its really cool i got a quick question for you, i watched the how to change carbon brushes on a washing machine video u did earlier and now this one on getting the motor out. Now im doing this as the washing machine doesnt spin anymore, i will know when i see the brushes if they need changing by the fact that they r very small and worn right? also the machine doesn't drain now, is that related to the brushes too?
Thank you very much for the video. With yours and another one that shows how to replace the brushes (my CREDA needed new brushes) a friend and I just got my washing machine going again. Such a great thing when you can do it by yourself. - I have a question, my washing machine washed and spun and all went well but there is a noise now that wasn't there before. We thought maybe the belt, but it looks like it is in the same place as before. And there is no smell. Thanks for any suggestion.
As long as the belt is roughly the same tension as before it will be fine. I'm sure the last time I replaced washing machine motor brushes the machine sounded differently afterward. Thanks for the comment 👍
I'm scrapping my old washer but im finding it difficult, I want the motor out of it but there is no room for me to work with tools, plus how the hell can you take the drum out of the chasis? Ive removed a weight on top of the drum & unhooked the drum tension springs, exactly the same type they use for garden trampolines. There's anther weight on the drum & the motor is attached under the drum!
Just check RUclips for washing machine drum replacement or bearing replacement, you have to virtually strip the machine to bits in order to fix those problems 👍
those white "washers" stay on the motor, its just suppose to slide out i guess i was holding it at the wrong spot when trying to remove, but it was awhile ago not sure but my brother tried and he just removed it like nothing
i was on a roll fixing my washer, and got to these two annoying washers right after taking out the main screws to the motor, they are big white "washers" i guess, n they are firmly in place i tried prying them off n trying to turn n pry but they r stuck their firmly holding the motor still in place, looks like the damn company used some stupid sophisticated washer that needs a special tool to remove so people couldnt couldnt them themselves ahhh!!!
Excellent, thank you , in & out with replaced brushes in 45 mins ! Back to quiet & smooth, regards Andrew
Well done ;-)

Is an Indesit machine ultimately a hotpoint machine? Will the motor be the same?
Is there a way to remove everything inside the washing machine and be left with just the outer shell?
What Hotpoint model is this?
@ultimatehandyman

This is either a WM81P or a WM83P.
You could be right, although that machine went to the scrap yard a couple of years back.
