I'm a Maharashtrian and as all Maharashtrian families, my mom too has taught me how to make the staple kande pohe. I some how always messed it up. But I learnt the literal science behind the ingredients and thus when I made kande pohe today, they turned out perfect!!! Yes i could have added am additional mirch or two and a little more sugar would have made it taste better, but the poha was a hugeeeee improvement from what i had made in the past. And for the first time i thought it was so easy to make. No wonder it's a staple in our household.
Thank you for explaining the basics and make it easy for us amature enthusiasts.
The best thing about every Recipe you explain is, you tell the story and traditions behind it. True fan. Jai Maharashtra

I am a south Indian born and raised in UP but this Marathi kanda poha is hands down my fav kinda poha. Feels more tangy than other variants 👌👌👌

Very true
grated coconut tastes good along with coriander specially in konkan region we decorate poha with coriander and fresh grated coconut tastes amazing..
Yes...being from Konkan myself, our addition to this preparation would be freshly grated coconut, a little sugar during the cooking, maybe a pinch of cummin seeds to pop with the mustard seeds at the start, a quarter of a lime on the side while serving, our subtraction would be the peanuts / groundnuts....
Coconut - south me ya konkan me pasand aata hai overall India me nahi
Ha mne bs try k liye coconut daala tha ...and it was yum
@@amolk6731 We use hing (asafoetida), curry leaves, mustard and cumin seeds along with green chillies at the start then add chopped onions, potatoes, and some salt to help it cook the mixture, tomatoes are also added although it's optional. We do add groundnuts in our poha but roasted one. Then we add turmeric, poha, salt and bit sugar. Stir it well so the turmeric properly coats the poha. Add teensy bit of water as well to soften up the poha. Garnish it with coriander in the end. We also use freshly grated coconut and sprinkle some lemon juice. Ha that's so scrumptious and mouth-watering. 😍😍🤤🤤 Love me some poha!! 🥰🥰
Ya am from bangalore..I have tried the way u said..it was just superb
Being an Indori, I really appreciate your disclaimer and the way you told that our style poha is so zabardast!! ♥️
This rivals professionally produced cooking/traveling/history pieces! after a binge finally gave in to the urge to comment, Chef Ranveer's cadence, personality and knowledge of regional variances in cuisine is such a breath of fresh air to watch from an Indian cooking show! i really wish the channel (i'm guessing he has a team) adds subs so i can share this with my non hindi speaking friends XD i aware they're not the target, you'd be surprised how many people are passionate about regional indian cusine!
I admire this guy ! He is amazing on Master Chef plus got great screen presence, deserves much more success as a show host. All the best, Ranveer ! Keep up the good work.
We Maharashtrian's love kanda poha so much that we made song ... Ayushya he chulivarlya kadhaitle kaanda pohe 😂

Thanks for sharing this amazing recipe. Brilliantly explained. The instructions were precise. A must try🥰😋
In our home we serve this dish with some grated coconut and finely chopped coriander on top of it. In some parts of Karnataka it's served with fine shev on top. Thanks for the recipe with finer details as usual.👌👍

Poha is called "Chira " in Assam and we take it with Curd, Gur ..it's a very highly valued Breakfast for the Assamese community
Also in bihar
Also in Bangal , Odisha, Jharkhand,
In Odisha we eat it raw with curd, sugar or with 🍌... Poha is called "chuda santula" here.

@@SS-rg5di yeah. That’s why food and taste is personal preference. Food such as pizza, pasta and burgers etc can be assumed to be universal because of MNCs but when you eat authentic food from let’s say Italy, you might not really like it. India anyway has such a diverse cuisine. Best is to keep an open mind and an open heart. :)
