    What gets me is that a lot of the stuff this young man speaks of is common sense. A lot of the stuff is mission-based or situation-based. Training and learning how to move shoot, move, and communicate helps separate you from the rest. I am not knocking on no one to each their own. But this young speaks volumes and is extremely knowledgeable. Ty for what you do bud. Rock on and god bless. Btw love the Ragnorok.

    For who ever asked about how to clean a plate carrier. How we did when I was in the Army, for when it got super nasty and caked with mud and everything else. Was to fill sink (we had big deep ones in our laundry room) with hot water and get a big scrub brush and scrub the hell out of it. And when your done. Set it somewhere to dry. Air drying it works just fine. Usually only takes a couple hours to be dry. I guess you could toss the whole thing in the washing machine depending on how gross it is. But I wouldn't recommend the dryer. The rattle alone would probably make you want to step into oncoming traffic

    I’m glad you mentioned that a plate carrier with no plates doesn’t really make a good chest rig. I was kinda thinking about buying the carrier and some web gear then adding plates after but instead I think I’ll probably get a small chest rig and start by using that until it no longer suffices or I can afford an upgrade.

    I honestly think that "home defense" question was another of a series of shilled, underhanded, disingenuous questions for the defend the tyrannical, anti-2a lobby, because the answer is too obvious. To be fair it depends on your home setup and what your plan is when an alarm goes off or you hear glass break. Do you go towards the noise or does your family retreat to a safe room where they call for police and wait? I know the way my house is set up if I am home alone I have no reason to leave my room which is farthest from the main points of entry. To be fair I am also in a position that makes it easy to identify if someone is coming up to the house, who they are and if I even need to move...but my house is also hard as shit to find to the point where I give people GPS directions and a description, and I still have to walk out to them and wave them in.

    I actually have a weird/simple solution for using a backpack with my plate carrier. I took some nylon straps and plastic buckles and attached them to certain points in the molle webbing of my carrier. The backpack can no longer be used by itself without rearranging the straps, but it buckles directly to my carrier. Makes it much more comfortable and prevents it from shifting when walking or running. And I can undo the waist strap and flip the pack over my head and get anything I need. Flip it back over and resecure the waist strap and keep going.

    Played NCPA in college (paintball)
    I'm older ok.
    But everything was on your back! And it was not an issue. In paintball they designed the kit to be accessible with a last reach around.
    You could grab a pod(magazine) and reload with your support hand while shooting on the move.
    Now paintball guns are balanced more like a bull pup. And they lack recoil. But you get the idea. One hand can access your kit without much thought.
    So yes I agree most people put kit on their backs that is inaccessible, but you can design it to work the opposite. And honestly it's nice to dive prone without landing on thousands of dollars of kit.
    Food for thought Lucas, cheers.

    • @ethan5009
      @ethan5009 2 года назад +8

      Former fellow NCPA and current larper here.
      Biggest reason for the difference I'd say would be due to the amount of running and diving in paintball. I used to play snake, and pods on the chest would've been a big no-go. Also, there's a large weight difference; a single loaded 5.56 mag likely comes close to two full pods. You can easily put shots accurately on target with a paintball marker one handed; not necessarily as easy with a loaded rifle.

    Depending on how much you need to carry in your backpack and how quickly you need to access it a sling back can also be useful, the only thing is that that means a strap along the front diagonally, so you need to kit yourself out so you can swing that bag to the front and cannot carry as much on the front. Can still be useful, but more for short term.
    Kit for what you're gonna do.
    Airsoft is cool, although even in a milsim it's not THAT realistic, mostly with how most players just move and scans and all that, that changes when you get more military people and less weekend airsofters that are more Rambo.

    Ok, so I ditched the crye JPC 2.0 back panels for that exact reason of not being able to access it myself. But the Agilite AMAP and the Haley Strategic flatpack or flatpack plus are both great options and can be taken off and on by the wearer without having to take your whole damn carrier off. The flat pack can be used in conjunction with another Haley strategic product called the hitch hike that has placard connectors that go on your cummerbund to secure the bottom portion. And new swift clips that replace the ones that hold your placard that has two on each side. But theyre sewn together. One facing up to secure your flat pack shoulder straps. And one facing down to secure your placard. So you just unclip your pack whennyou need something amd then snap it all back on when you want to stow it. And the Agilite has a similar system for thier K19 carrier that works with thier AMAP pack. But you can use the HS flatpack or flatpack plus and hitch hike system with just about any carrier
