Thank you for bringing this back. This is best science show ever.
I wasn't privileged to have access to this series. Loving it
I'm getting all sorts of alarms in my head for their decision to engage the target car on the driver side
That was crazy to see!! Was anxious the whole time. Seems like a rare, unnecessary risk from the team.
Exactly why they switched sides for Jamie's final tire ripper
@@TheTyisawesome I get that, but why subject Adam to the risk for the first two? they were both long enough to potentially really mess up his legs
@@renchesandsords I think it's just the "Let's do it" attitude of the science testing. Ever time I re-watch these back it really seems like there is alot of just doing without thoroughly thinking safety in order to get shit done for the episode ASAP. Kinda jus disregard safety until something goes wrong. I get it's entertaining but they have multiple incidents every season...
@@TheTyisawesome yeah, at least the incidents were all relatively minor
i can't believe they did the spike wheels test like that. i was so conserned watching this
exactly what i thought. And they could have avoided the danger by putting it on the other side of the car. wtf
So nostalgic! Loved watching this when I was younger!!
wait the announcer isn't "mono stereo" what black magic is this
It’s normally the other ”mythbusters” channel that has the shitty audio
Fun fact about wheel spikes: Those originated in the gladiator shows of ancient Rome. 1 on 1 combat was not the only attraction there, but there were also races with weaponized chariots.
Persians, used them on war chariots in 401 BCE, about 150 years before gladiator games became a thing about 250 years before the games hit their peak spectacle
They should NOT have been tearing up the car on the drivers side! Safety first!!
I'm surprised they did not take more precautions.
Although I loved this episode, Keep them coming.
😂😂😂 Adam's laughing maniacally
Over on the DemoRanch channel, he has had his bullets spin on the table after shooting things. Always cool to see.
I love how Adam was immidiately biased against the statonary gun, despite early fighter planes with the same principle having very much proved that concept for a couple of decades.
planes can tilt vertically easier than cars though
Actually, all fighter planes have fixed machine guns. Some notable ones, the P-51 Mustang, the A-10 Warthog.. Attempts were made in the past to make an aimable gun, but none were successful. It actually blows my mind that these guys didnt think about that. I thought these guys were geniuses when I was younger. Not so much anymore.
@@S3IIL3CT Yes, planes can tilt vertically (or, to be correct, pitch) because they have to. The cars are travelling on the same plane (the X plane, yaw plane, road plane), therefore, as demonstrated there's very little need to and enough control for pitch changes.
@@leoarc1061
stating what I assumed obvious in many words. maybe it helps someone.
Why do patrol boats have non fixed guns?
Or ships in general?
Why are MGs non fixed on tanks etc.?
Your comparison is crap.
Years later in hindsight don't you think you should put the weapons on the left hand (the driver's side) away from the Adam 😳
Their safety crew then was a bit dumb back then
It's well known Jamie intended to finally murder him this episode, couldn't pull it off though.
That fixed machine gun fcked him up lmao😂
Wild. Remember seeing this episode on TV back when it was new. The weird thing is that I remember the wheel spike myth going very differently. I guess my memory isn't as reliable as I like to believe.
It did nothing and smashed to pieces, didn't it? Because that's what I thought I remembered.
@@conraydo Exactly. Jamie's wheel broke off.
@@conraydo wtf i remember that too? was it a different episode? or is this another mandela
top gear did it and jermerys wheel got torn off
You are confusing mb with top gear
Probably shoulda put that spike into the side that adam wasn't on. Bet Jayme thought of that and was like "eh, I've already put a bolt on halfway, he'll be fine 🤷"
20:20 i think at the back it even cut trough the frame. Absolute nuts lol. Jamie is a very Dangerous man 🤣🤣 Dude would make even Eathan Hunt AND Mc Gyver prowd.
Great episode! Thanks. 😊
Physics Terry, physics!
Any WW1 or WW2 fighter pilot would say to Adams that there are nothing wrong with a fixed firing machine gun
Those pilots had 2D aim control, Adam had 1D aim control.
Now you've got the new VR headset, could you control the gun with head movements instead of having one hand potentially dangerously off the steering wheel?
I Miss Busters!
Wonder if they could go on some ice rink for the spin bullet test. Probably not because of a potential damage. But it would be ideal place for the test.
I'm sure they could have, they just wanted to add some spectacle. Or possibly wanted to emulate the natural characteristics of the original video which was on a lake.
Lol did they really need to go to a blizzarding lake in the middle of nowhere surrounded by mountains of snow?
Man that spike was actually sketch af hitting the T bird, could have easily gone through the door, cars hit wheels and lift up and hit Adam inside.
really liked this episode ,and proved that interstate 76 "aint" a myth :3
Spinning Bullet seems to have less kinetic energy in myth. Possible explanation: Lower muzzle speed. Ways to achieve: Maybe a shot with low amount of explosive?
Could absolutely improve the spin. Seeing how they did it sounds like it takes a lot of factors to get it to work, but... Yeah.
But they made it work
Paintball guns move a lot slower than a real bullet gun, making it more difficult to hit.
I don’t like the control they did the the car myth. They used a low-end paintball marker with only 14 rounds on semi-auto. Even if the gun you could aim had only 14 rounds and semi auto, it’s still a much higher end marker than the control. The control gun alone may have been so inaccurate that a shot that would have hit the car likely flew off a few feet to the side. As someone who knows paintball markers, they should have used the same one or same model with the FPS set to be the same
Could they have reloaded their own ammo and just made it a lighter powder load so that it doesnt have the same impact force? Might make it spin if its not inbedding into the ice.
Of course they could've done that, but what would be the point?
The whole reason for trying it themselves is to prove whether or not the video is fake. And they used unaltered ammo...
Why tf are they using shovels lol the ice is definitely thick enough for a skid steer or literally anything with a plow or bucket on it haha damn budget cuts
They were talking about the snow being 3 feet deep on the lake and 6 feet deep near the house or something. I am not sure a vehicle could have easily made it to the lake.
10:49
Love the Mythbusters
But TV is so much lies, lie after lie after lie
34:47 unfortunately we can't use real bullets for this test ☠️☠️☠️
well, pepole shoot each other plane in 3D out of the sky, why the car can't do the same when it nearly 2D
soooo dangerous walrus guy should have that on the other side of the vehicle , sack your insurance company! And yes i know this is old as fuck.
Second.
First.
