you dont need fins at all actually, you can substitute with gyroscopic stabilizers, just make sure every axis is covered. They give you more control than fins, at the cost of power. (Youll need batteries)

In the 747 cockpit, check out the number of meters and controls on the engineer's panel. No monitor glass screens, just "steam guages" and multi position switches. You dont get to see it here but I love the pinball machine technology of barber pole flags and literally, little pop up warning flags on the guages. Easy to read a watch, try 3 or 4 hands on a clock face, and read it intuitively and instantly. And the the icing on the cake - everything has a circuit breaker with an a mechanically induced warning "pop". One other gem is the stick shaker. A vibrator in the yoke, as a "feel it" based warning. Like a rumble box for a 1990s nintendo controller, except its made of metal and acuated by the same type of hydrolics used on a fork lift truck. And all this was considered a walk in the park when flying a jet, as compared with the last iteration of the piston engine. The engineer had to deal with aprox. 100 spark plugs, double supercargers, multi turbo chargers and highly complex cooling and lube setups. Get it wrong, and......

I know she doesn't have the 'role' of a host contractually or in terms of speaking to camera, but she's directly involved a lot in this season especially. It really feels like she's often on the level of the "B-team" in terms of helping, and those guys are all credited
Did you ever see the episode where they tested a myth that required a couple of pigs to rot inside a car for a couple of months? They bought the specific car for the myth off of a guy before they told him what the plan was, but then informed him of it's fate. He was DEJECTED, I actually kinda felt bad for him. I think it was a corvette or camaro, but I can't quite remember
It is scary how the bus just imploded when it rolled over. No structural integrity there. If it had been a accident with kids, none of them would have survived.
it had a hangtime thats why the splashdown squashed the bus top, if it simply rolled over, it would last 2 rolls before it crumples, most of the time it would only tumble on its side due to center of gravity. Your buses are designed with safety in mind, not being jetwashed by a turbofan engine
The dolphin mock up is good, but I would also check if the sound of the inner drill scares the sharks, because might be sensitive to weird sounds. They should have conducted one more test with tuna and dolphin mechanics in the water but without the dolphin silhouette
@SherlockPies Shark tourism is a major industry in that area; so they would be quite used to it -so much so that it is a concern that (chumming) has made the sharks associate boat/people with food. In addition to the weird sound; the fake dolphin would also have a weird electric field.
Wacky Races Impala! I must say from a natural world standpoint, the shark-dolphin experiment was pretty damn scientific and really interesting, not to mention excellent to watch! That's definitely now one of my all time favourites
The animation of the team in the car is awesome, reminds me of the video clip for Hilltop Hoods' music video 'Clown Prince' The name "Holley" would be taken from the carburettor brand that is of the same name I imagine.

Probably wouldn’t take his recommendations or rely on him for anything quite honestly. Mistakes happen but this is not something mistakes should be rare.
I was pleasantly surprised by the taxi in a jet-stream bit because usually, the mythbusters team have to increase the effect of whatever it may be to get the same result as in a movie or tv-show, but now we know that a normal unenhanced jet-stream will toss a normal weight car like paper.

A control test animating a fish or seal would have been nice in the shark myth, to see if it's the dolphin or the materials and mechanics making the shark cautious.
I think that the Whites are not scared of dolphins or people. I think that a defensive dolphin increases the likely energy output in eating the sailor, plus clothed humans in life jackets are not natural prey. The shark judges the situation to be too costly in energy and does some simple math before deciding to find more optimal hunting/feeding conditions.
@@ryanbuckley3314 I think there's definitely an element of "too much effort" in it, but I wouldn't discount the possibility even great whites simply aren't willing to risk a fight with dolphins. since dolphins hunt in pods, if a shark sees one, there's likely to be more, and dolphins absolutely can do real damage to sharks. dolphins are not pushovers, they are top predators in their own right.
I'm kinda sure my father actually did that once in his youth. Water-skied behind a ferry that went between Sweden and Norway 😃 not the whole way ofc, but anyways. It's definitely possible as long as you have enough speed.

A cab drove behind the jet blast on Santos Dumont airport, in Rio de Janeiro, the same place the 2002 incident happened. And it did fly away. Though this time the driver didn't get seriously hurt.

While it's definitely cool, I think fly-by-wire and modern control surfaces are better. Not without their own problems of course
