That's a really good review, and you sold it really well - thank you. Clicked on the link and it's gone up £300 - in six months! Bit cheeky that. And it's sold out of course. What a shame.
I just bought a est900 arriving next week, only thing i went for the ladies version, its the same apart from the width of handlebars and the seat ,so i bought a mans seat ,keepingvthebthinner bars, bought a great lock new tyres and still 200 quid cheaper than the mans version 😁

I'm in the opposite position to you I can get the Cube Reaction pro 500 in my size 21 inch ( I'm 6 foot 2) but can't get a Rockrider in large or extra large at the moment. I'm not in any great rush so will probably wait while the Rockrider is available.

I have the est520, just got it yesterday. I can hear a slight noise from the front brake rotor area when travelling at a decent speed. It’s almost like a scraping metal noise. It’s quite quiet though and only happens when travelling at good speed. It doesn’t happen all the time either. Plus, if I spin the wheel when stationary, there is no noise. Does this sound similar to the issue you have?
TheTechAudiophile yes it does, although it’s noticeable more now from the motor so will be keen to see how the new one rides, doesn’t affect the performance of the bike at all.

Decathlon were trying to get me a replacement but due to the current situation it’s probably not going to be for a while so they gave me a refund, I have since bought a trek power fly 4 and that has a rattle but it’s coming from the brakes which just needs adjusted.
I've had it since a month. After 2 weeks (150 km), the chain suddenly broke, when driving on the street (no heavy terrain). Very annoying. Luckily enough I was able to go to Decathlon the same day (after making an appointment). Three guys worked on it for 45 minutes, put on a new chain and adjusted the derailleur, tested the bike etc all for free. They said the chain might still break or the bike may produce weird sounds, but I haven't noticed this. Apart from that I love this bike. There is a chance it won't be available in the future anymore, so I got a collectors item now :-).
This video sold me on the bike but sadly there are none available at Decathlon. I will just have to wait on stock coming in but Decathlon don't know when that will be.
Its worth the wait i prommis had mine now about a month and its amazing, took it to Gisburn and it handled all the red and the black runs amazing. You do need to go for a smaller size if you planning on proper tec riding it is a big bike, I am 6ft and the large is a little to large, and at 19st but I can happily get 60mils if left in eco apart from the occasional boost up the hill. The specs on this bike are in my opinion ahead of anything in the same price range. Like the air front suspension its so so good. done over 200 mls and not disappointed. It always makes me smile. Hope this helps
I own it and I love it. It is a little too small for me though, I'm 1.90 m and bought the Large. The position of the drinkholder is also annoying. Sometimes the bike makes a weird metallic sound. Apart from that, it's great. Sometimes it feels more like a moped than a bike because of the 'push in the back' when driving uphill
@@BarryMountford The display is a little too small for my liking too and the remaining kilometers are often not correct. Also, if you switch to the highest level of support (boost), the remaining reach stays the same as in lower levels of support, which is not correct. Hello Barry. First of all, great video! You said it's a small size..But what is your heigt. I'm 1.74m. and i wanted to go for a Large, because i've ride one that was my friends. Why do you think a small size is better, 'cause i guess you're taller then i am.. Thanks in advance.
Hey man yeah more than likely the disc/calliper just give it a good ride out the calliper might just need adjusting a little but the free 6week check up they do if it’s still happening they will adjust it for you. I bought a trek powerfly 4 which also has noise from calliper, they tend to settle down after a good few miles of riding.
@@BarryMountford Thanks Barry love the bike did 30 mile trip today first time out on it thats when the noise started, telephoned Decathlon they said fetch it back. Thanks for the video pal! Awesome channel as well. You said you got a small, was wondering how you are? According to the sizing chart I’m in between an M and L
Hi Barry. Thank you so much for this very informative video, I really enjoyed it. I'm definitely leaning more towards this e-bike. Just one question: Which type of pedal assist is it? Is it the one where you pedal once and it pushes you to a certain speed, or is it a gradual assistance?
Trevor Astley I think with the small it feels very nimble something you could throw over jumps if your into that sort of thing, the medium is more of a relaxed ride, great bike though.
I upgraded to the trek powerfly 4, would I do that again probably not as the experience is exactly the same and they now have a nice black one in store which looks great! Very good bikes for the price.
I returned it after 500 miles riding as it had a noise coming from the motor, well that's what the shop said I actually think it was from the brakes! They couldn't get me a replacement due to the pandemic so gave me a full refund, I went out and bought the only bike available at the time which was the trek powerfully 4, great bike which cost £1000 more than the rock rider and in my opinion the same reading experience, just looks better.
hi, barry how tall are you as you say you went for small which suits you fine. does decathlon size chart recommend large for your hight great looking bike might take the plunge in winter hopefully price go back down
greg I am 178-179 I think while the small is very comfortable to ride I am now looking to get a medium for a little more of a relaxed ride and a little more stretched out. Feel. It’s a great bike.
Great review. I was looking at the carrera Vulcan at Halfords but after watching other you tube videos I will be avoiding it like the plague! This bike looks great and sounds great from your review. Have you had any electric motor cut out? Any major faults? Do they have a warranty? Thanks
LE R apart from the rattle on the motor which they are replacing the bike for that reason and to be honest I think I have just been unlucky as I haven’t seen any negative feedback about this bike, other than that no issues at all it’s took everything I have thrown at it and sailed through it. You get a 2 year warranty on the motor and I think it’s a life time warranty on the frame just double check the site. In my opinion it’s a great bike for the money.
Barry Mountford thanks for the reply. Another consideration I have is how much a new battery will cost in the future when the first one inevitably dies?
Hi - when you said your height was measured for a Large and you got a Small. Did you mean medium ? What height are you? I'm 175cm and not sure what size to get as I'm on sizes between Large and Medium
james Welsh hi no I bought the small and it fits me perfect, I measure 178cm, if you look on their website it shows the frame sizes for small medium and large bikes. Hope that helps.
Look out for the Scottish lass on RUclips and this bike I've had this st900 now 4 months the annoying thing is these kolassol tyres very annoying need to change to sliks
Unfortunately due to the situation we are all in they haven’t yet been able to get me a small and online is all sold out! But they have gave me a full refund, I must say they have been great they let me keep hold of the bike which I rode 300 miles on and refunded me instantly when they couldn’t give me a date when a new one would be available, great service ! Just waiting for them to come back into stock.

Trevor Astley I think with the small it feels very nimble something you could throw over jumps if your into that sort of thing, the medium is more of a relaxed ride, great bike though.
@@BarryMountford Nothing technical for me. Tarmac,Toe paths and Farm Tracks. I am 170 cm tall. Medium for me do you think or small?. no pressure.
Trevor Astley I reckon a medium would suit that size better
Hows the bike treating you afyer this time mate would you still recommend it as a good electric bike ?
I upgraded to the trek powerfly 4, would I do that again probably not as the experience is exactly the same and they now have a nice black one in store which looks great! Very good bikes for the price.
Hey man, so it's been 11 months with this bike, how is the performance after nearly a year?
How can i increase top speed?
They are limited to 15.5mph in the uk
How tall are you I am 5ft 8 they recommend a medium
Yes a medium would be great, a small bike allows for a little more agility.
How’s the bike holding up now in February 23? 😊
I upgraded to a trek powerfly 4, the rock rider still a fab bike though!
Great review,I want one
Beautiful. is it noisy?
No it’s me of the quietest motors I have tested.
@@BarryMountford Nice. Thank you.
I love mine, and as they are very hard to find (lack of stock due to corona ?), it's become sort of a collector's item :-)
LE R they are either £399 or £499 they are available on the website along with many other parts.
Hi great video What height are you i am 173cm size m according to website, when they in stock i probably buy one
thanks
chris
Hi Chris I am 178cm a medium would be perfect.
Whats the top speed please
The assist stops at 15.5 mph then it’s up to you
Holy Moly. Where's that accent from? For a second I thought he was speaking Swedish.
😂😂😂 The North East of England
Hi - when you said your height was measured for a Large and you got a Small. Did you mean medium ? What height are you? I'm 175cm and not sure what size to get as I'm on sizes between Large and Medium
james Welsh hi no I bought the small and it fits me perfect, I measure 178cm, if you look on their website it shows the frame sizes for small medium and large bikes. Hope that helps.
@@BarryMountford on the Website of decathlon you need size L about 178cm!?? I have this in size M, its perfect for me I'm 175 cm.
@@TheCamouflage31 Hi ,- thanks for that. Was confused as small was from 150 - 164cm and medium from 165- 174cm. Cheers
Whats the top speed in mph?
RAKO unrestricted it’s limited to 15.5mph which honestly is more than enough in my opinion.
Look out for the Scottish lass on RUclips and this bike I've had this st900 now 4 months the annoying thing is these kolassol tyres very annoying need to change to sliks
Those cube's are like rocking horse shit.i didn't want to wait either so got a Haibike hardseven which is awesome.
Great review. Not to complicated for a novice
Did the keep their word and delivered your replacement bike to you?
Unfortunately due to the situation we are all in they haven’t yet been able to get me a small and online is all sold out! But they have gave me a full refund, I must say they have been great they let me keep hold of the bike which I rode 300 miles on and refunded me instantly when they couldn’t give me a date when a new one would be available, great service ! Just waiting for them to come back into stock.
I think you've sold me a bike 😁
They are the best fun ever!
@@BarryMountford hi Barry notice you got a small size, so just wondering your height, I am 5ft 7
@@davidfleming6005 I am 5ft 8 and that bike felt very agile and great fun, I now own a trek powerfly 4 and the assistant recommended a large which feels like a cruising bike because of the longer length, think I preferred the smaller bike but it all depends on how you are intending to ride it. Hope that helps.
Greetings to you from Morocco
Great post.
2100€ here in Spain 😯
Simple
these stupid rules about 15 mph
Tell me about it!
