    Use glass marbles as the ballast for the tray. Lead will leach heavey metals.

    Yes actually - tea is just tannin water. That's exactly where the flavor and color comes from. Tannins in the plant matter

    Can you please do a video about breeding coelacanths? Sarcopterygians are sadly under-represented in the aquarium hobby.

    I want to try breeding my green neon tetras but I don't have soft water. My tap water is 7ph. I have a bunch of catappa leaves. Can I boil them to make tannin extract and use that to fill my tank? any tips and help are appreciated.

      Just throw the leaves into the tank. The leaves with grow biofilm and infusoria that is very beneficial to the fry. If you want lower pH water you can collect rain water, purchase an undersink RO unit for your home, or buy RO water from your local fish store

    Since they were in there a week, did you do any water changes in the breeding tank?

    • @AvatarAquatics
      @AvatarAquatics  2 месяца назад +1

      No, but if you have a larger breeding group of fish than me then you should clean the tank or add a filter for oxygenation.

    How long should the fry be in the spawning tank before moving to a grow out tank with "normal" tank water?

    • @WildCastOutdoors
      @WildCastOutdoors 2 месяца назад

      I don’t recommend moving them until they are a few months old and able to join the adults. Make sure they are acclimated slowly

    You need to invest in an RO unit it makes producing clean soft water so easy.
