Welcome to the Afrika Festival Hertme archive!
Moh! Kouyaté has taken the initiative for a large 'Mandingo' project with the aim of making modern Guinean music known to a young international audience. To achieve this, Moh has recruited the legendary singer Sékouba Bambino alongside young talents from the country who play djembe and kora in addition to modern instruments such as guitar, keyboard and drums. Guinea Music All Stars brings a repertoire that mixes new compositions with classics from the orchestras of the golden age of Conakry. No one has forgotten Bembeya Jazz, not even Balla and his famous Baladins, two legendary orchestras whose music has been rearranged, mixing rhythms and melodies, modernity and tradition. With this tribute to those whose music has shone in Africa and far beyond, Guinea Music All Stars aims to build a bridge between generations, reimagining the music of yesterday and showing that Conakry's current scene is still alive and kicking; gorgeous and vibrant.
