    If this game have it remaster with 60fps, tweeked gameplay and improved graphics in 2017, MASTERPIECE. I love the game on ps3. In certain part of the game, the difficulty just suddenly rose to inhuman level, GAWD DAMN.YOKO TARO's FINEST

    Yoko Taro and I seem to share the same taste for violent, foul-mouthed, silver haired women. Zero is just the best and I love her.
    Drakengard 3 was my first Yoko Taro game and I loved every second of it! It took me two years to actually beat the final boss, and after that I bought the DLC and spent another 160$ to get the collectors edition, and then bought the artbook strategy guide thing that is only in japanese. Then when I heard about NieR Automata and how it was being made by the same guy, so I went straight to the game shop by my house, bought NieR, and then played that for four days straight. Then Automata finally comes out and that game just flew to the top of my favorite games list.
    Here's hoping Yoko Taro can start making games without Square Enix's bull shit in the future!

    Who the fuck says 9S is too precious for Taro? O___O I mean don’t get me wrong I ADORE 9S and he is too precious for THIS world, but he fits perfectly into Taro’s world, same with Emile, but Mikhail is a child. Mikhail feels like what they wanted Sere to be.

    So, I think I mentioned this in another one of your videos, but demolitionD saying that, how buggy the game is, along with it's crazy self-depricating writing really sold me on Yoko Taro, and even got me started on his wild rides...
    Like, the part where he plays that part where Zero complained about "ugh more platforms?", That shit sold me...

    I remember having played Drakengard 1 more than 15 years ago and I really liked it (everything but the rhythm game at least, fuck that mission) and in my memory it played way better than what I saw on screen. Guess I let that game rest in what nostalgia is still there.

    Bro been trying to find this game on a shelf or bargain bin for the longest time already I've honestly never ever seen this game on a shelf. And the digital version ,last time i checked, was almost the price of a new ps4 title. I love Taro's games but honestly i'm not willing to pay that much for a game with optimization this bad, I read somewhere online where someone said the best way to play this game is to wait for someone to get the ps3 emulator into a playable state, which who knows when the f#$% that's gonna happen.

    That Nier remaster that's coming out in April gives me hope that Drakengard 3 (to this day, my favorite Yoko Taro game) will get a similar treatment ^^ This game has such cool characters, story, music... Sure, the gameplay is a bit lacking but it was mostly held back by technical issues, which can be resolved by todays hardware easily. Every Dynasty Warriors style game does get repetitive but in the case of Drakengard 3 I didn't mind grinding for all the weapons to see the true ending xD And that final boss fight .__. Oh God...

  • @christopherrichardson2945

    Really loved this game - which came outta left field cause I had heard about the game being kinda divisive - of course I also played it after his Nier games, never played Drakengard 1-2, and played it in mid-2020

  • @TatcheeClips

    • @CodexEntry
      @CodexEntry  7 лет назад +2

      I was doing my best to keep it spoiler free, but suffice to say I love/hated it really hard. Overall, I think it's a really cool fight that was incredibly satisfying, but I won't lie about the fact that Yoko Taro owes me a new controller.

    Much like the first Nier, this is a game I hope for a PC rerelease. I don't own a PS3 so I'll probably never be able to play through them if they don't get the PC treatment.

    My opinion of Drakengard 3 is pretty much how you described. A hidden gem, with some horrible fucking coding. I also had played both Drakengards, and Nier, before Drakengard 3, so I was kinda tired of Cavias game play. I had a really hard time finishing Drakengard 3, more than any of Yoko Taro's games, mostly because I was sick of the repetitive combat.
    Hopefully from now on, we can expect the polish of Nier Automata, from Yoko Taro games. I wouldn't even mind if his team went to work with Platinum from now on.
    P.S. Still loving the Marth.

    • @brightsuperstition
      @brightsuperstition 7 лет назад +1

      I would love if Platinum and Taro remade Drakengard 3 with better combat. Hopefully even better than NieR: Automata, because as amazing as that game was, it had some pretty bad hitboxes and severe balancing issues (it's so easy to break the game).

    • @JameboHayabusa
      @JameboHayabusa 7 лет назад +1

      brightsuperstition Yeah, I would love it if drakengard 3, had combat compared with Bayonetta. I think that fast paced, combo centric game play would fit zero anyhow.

    It honestly is one of those games that while playable, really needs a remaster for the modern platform. I loved what I played of it, *Didnt finish it cause I got side tracked by other games I had to play.* but those technical issues really along with nasty screen tearing kinda drove me nuts. I wouldn’t care if a remastered version only ran at 30fps as long as it remained at that framerate and the screen tearing wasn’t a total bitch. I just hope that we do get that...and maybe pray to god it isn’t playstation exclusive.

I have been playing this myself as of late, and enjoying it quite a bit; especially since I bought it back at release in 2013!

    if you have a decent pc , like gtx 1650 or better this game runs really well on rpcs3 emulator. i have a 1660ti and i can run this game 1440p 60 fps and the framerate never dips below 30 fps. I can run it in 4k as well with only a mild dip in performance comparatively.

    After the wonderful, depressing and oddly uplifting game that was Nier; Automata- my first Taro experience- I've been looking for info on other of his titles to determine which to play next. Aside from OG Nier, the series it offshooted from has fascinated me in a distant sort of way for a while now and when doing my research Drakengard 3 stood out as a prequel, something for modern consoles and a game with a soundtrack from the wonderful Keiichi Okabe. But the review scores from critics are on the whole kinda.... bleh. Was truly wondering whether or not to give this the time of day.
    Well, for better or worse, you've sold me on this good sir; once Nier's out of the way, I look forward to trying this out :)

      Something I should have mentioned is that it's honestly not that long unless you intended to get ending D. You can get through the meat of the game in about 15 hours. A lot of the rest of that time is spent getting weapons to unlock the 100% to unlock ending D. If you're strapped for time, you can very easily just get to ending C and just watch ending D online and no one in their right mind would judge you, especially given how insane the final boss is.

    To me, Yoko Taro is a completely clueless director. I think this is the main reason why most of his games merely have a cult following. You would think that a game that focuses on hack n slash gameplay with dragon combat would be fun but it just isn't.
    It says a lot when Yoko Taro has to assign a completely separate development team to design the combat system of Nier Automata and the game immediately becomes a mainstream hit.
    However there are still several stupid design decisions that plague Nier Automata such as the camera angles transitioning from 3D to 2.5D.
    I get that he wants to break the mold but I don't think he puts any thought into any of his ideas, he just throws them in.
    The irony is that he would make a great producer for Sqaure-Enix.
    Drakengard 1 and 2 felt like they weren't even trying with their sluggish combat, Drakengard 3 was also pretty horrendous to play due to the fact that the framerate is all over the place, certain enemies don't stagger and the square attacks are mostly useless, you can just mash triangle mid air to win every fight and it's way more effective than trying to make a combo.

    • @PrincessNine
      @PrincessNine 6 лет назад +8

      You are aware non of his games had budgets and were treated poorly by square since he had shity staff. Also d2 is more a rushed sequel by other people produced by him than his game.

    • @baptistelasbats3952
      @baptistelasbats3952 5 лет назад +2

      The point in Yoko Taro games is not really combat. I think this man just doesn't care about it, but his writing, and the way he uses his game… Nier Automata remains one of the if not the best game I've ever experienced, but not for the gameplay

    • @christopherrichardson2945
      @christopherrichardson2945 3 года назад +1

      He’s a game director by way of playwright - his game stories utilize and play with the medium in a unique/symbiotic way (he uses the game like he would a stage, tailoring the story to the delivery method)
