I don't care what anyone says, that is one of the tightest drummers ever.
I once got to see Belinda do a solo show w/Gena drumming. I was front row, 5' from Belinda and 15' from Gena, with a perfect view, and she's GREAT!
Usually live performances have a tendency to not hold up to the original but HOLY COW this was perfect. Fantastic band.
I disagree. Live performances are almost always better than the studio version.
@@HorrorFreak68 I disagree. LOL Studio recordings can use as many takes as they want for each singer or musician. They can get a flawless recording. Live recordings often have mistakes. Plus they can also use multiple tracks of the same singer or instrument in the studio to make is sound better.
@@my3dviews i hate flawless recordings. I want to hear the human element. Studio recordings completely lack the emotion that live performances have. I want to listen to a band that's playing to a large audience, not one who's playing to a studio director.
@@HorrorFreak68 It is subjective though. I do like studio recording. Not a fan of hearing audiences cheering over the music or singing along. I'd rather hear the band that I like without the added noise/sound.
Like listening to Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon from the multichannel SACD. That's as close to perfection as it gets (in my opinion). Wouldn't be the same with a cheering crowd.
It's too "perfect". I don't understand how or why they would want to play such classic songs in their discography so close to the original studio versions. A song like Head over Heels is screaming for an interesting and extended piano solo, a (slap) bass solo, and a hard driving drum solo but the girls NEVER do this.
It's their show, not some kid's bar mitzvah. They could take a whole lot more risk and semi reinvent these beloved songs but instead they play like they want the performance to be played on radio the next day by some approving DJ.
For God's sakes, please put The Go-Go's in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They have more gold and platinum records, more hits and a bigger fan following than most acts that are already in the Hall. Plus, they were the first real all-girl group. Come on Hall of Fame. Get it right.

It’ll no doubt happen eventually but far later than it should have. Look all the killer bands from the 70s that were only recently inducted.

Well the Hollies started in 1962 and weren't inducted into the Hall of Fame until 2010. Some things take time, but I agree there are some more recent inductees that should not have been inducted so soon.

The most perfect pop song ever written. Such great musicians. I just love what a cool lead singer Belinda is. She doesn’t jump around and make anything cheesy. She just sings and moves so relaxed.

August 2023 and I keep watching this over and over. I'm an old rocker, grew up with the Beatles, Stones, Zep, etc. But these girls were/are amazing! Gina & Kathy..wow! Charlotte hittin those keys, little Jane rockin that SG and of course Belinda...yeah Belinda. DAMN!!!

Go-Gos are one of the few groups that sound same or better live than in the studio. You know they paid with hard work and attention to detail for that level of ability. True musicians, a credit to their craft

They sound so good. If that's a total live concert with no recorded music they totally nailed it. They are so talented and entertaining. They look like they're having so much fun. And kudos to the person who did the soundcheck. Everything blended perfectly.
Yes, I like that what they play is what you hear. No overdubbed crap. They could have easily programmed in those claps that are in the recording, but they didn't.

i always liked the Go-Go's but I was never obsessed with them until recently. I think it was the Showtime documentary and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that gave me a new found appreciation for them. When you see what tremendous musicians, writers and performers they are, you realize that this band was something very special and was overlooked for a long time by many in the music industry.

I wen't to high school with Jane's brother. He played a cassette of the band when they were just getting started. Honestly, I didn't think much of it at the time. Now I think they're the greatest all female band of all time.

I think this may have been an under-appreciated tune in it's time. This was one of the great "energy" songs of it's era. As for the Go-Go's? They had "it" and I'm very happy for them they got the Call to the Hall!!

Bravo A hundred times! The Gogos are Stunning! This band is a phenomenom of contradictions and wonderment! Firstly, they were like the bumblebee... they were not supposed to fly, and yet they soared! They were not expected to have staying power and yet, they are eternal! Who cares that they could not be rushed to finish high school if the reached the pinnacles of rock academia? And Belinda? ...Ahhhh Belinda...she just was born with a super nova of talent of her own!!!
Just goes to show you that showing all that skin is really not necessary (as done by many of todays female vocalists and you know who they are) to be sexy. Belinda is fun, beautiful and has a sexy voice and people love her act just as much when she is fully clothed as they would if she was wearing a bikini.
