As a Brazilian, I have to say that I love listening to Brazilian MPB in your videos. As a German student it was fun to notice the difference in dialect 💓
The red edges, I think due to their somewhat faulty/leaky bulk loader. I'm based in Indonesia too, shot this film once because it is quite cheap here (~$6/roll), but one roll is enough for me. Can't stand the inconsistent sensitivity issue. Regardless, great video!
I could tell you a lot about this film origin (and perhaps the origin of other respooled Kodak Vision film in my country). But basically, it is right as you guessed it. It is a respooled Kodak Vision 200T to be exact that has been expired in 2011 (or 2007). The remjet layer also has been removed, hence the halation. There's another interesting story as of why the exact expiration year is 2011 and 2007, will tell you if you're interested about it haha. It is respooled by one of our local film lab here in Jakarta. There were times that many film labs in Indonesia were made this film, by respooling Kodak Vision 250D and 500T that has expired in 2011. This was the time when fresh Kodak Vision was hard to get I guess. But since nowadays it's easier to get it, many labs don't produce it anymore. So yeah, it is an attempt by our film labs here to produce cheaper film for us film shooter. Himalaya is just one example.
Amazing video! Your suspicions seem to be correct. It is a repackaged tungsten - balanced Kodak cinema film with the rem-jet layer manually removed. The company that makes it is actually based in Indonesia so thats probably why you can't really find it over here in europe,
I need to stock up on more coffee as I'm going through your whole library. And I really do mean that in the best way possible sir. Keep em coming! Would love to hear your way of using your setting btw. As a beginner and new owner of a magnificent K1000 I'm really curious to find out how you apply for example sunny 16 etc to your favorite film rolls. Thank you very much!
I would bet that it's most probably a respooled aerokolor. Given that aerokolor is a 100 iso film and has some sensitivity to the reds that touches the IR spectrum, it seems fair to have some colour cast and characteristics fron underexposure and the IR sensitivity. Most of the time the brands that are respooling film, tend to set a box speed that underexposes the film, to get a more experimental and gritty look, to differentiate from the original stock.
Thanks, watching your videos made me expand my thinking so much in my photography. Thanks for pouring out time and effort for these funny videos! keep it up!!
Hey Teo, I have been a frequent watcher of your videos for a long time now but this is my first comment. I just find your videos and narration so relaxing, uplifting, and inspirational. Love your photography style, and also your grading of the video clips that complement the shoot. Do you use Dehancer? Anyway brother, much love to you from England and keep it up. From one artist to another - you're helping a lot of people. 👍
Unfortunately, Teo, this film cannot be their own film recipe. AFAIK there’s no color 35mm film manufacturers in Indonesia. It is 99% likely to be remjet removed film or respooled third party expired film
Lets go im early for once love your vids i just recently started film photography on my konika tc-x been loving it and your vids helped a lot in the enjoyment of that :D
Hello, A question I ask myself as I begin shooting with a film camera. Knowing that you bought this film in Japan, how do you bring them back to Austria on the plane, to avoid scratching them with the X-rays during the security check. Love your content anyway, it’s what brought me to film photography 😅
I just had it with me in my hand luggage. The scanners were all old (not the new CT-scanners) which only really damage film that is ISO 1600 and above I believe. So it doesn’t really matter as long as you keep your film in your hand luggage. Check-in luggage however gets toasted🥵
Ma, I find des foi cool weil ich dachte dass‘t nur englisch sprichst, owa wie I donn ausagfundn hob das du eigentlich in Österreich lebst 🇦🇹 und a österreichisch sprichst, woa i foi überrascht…mog deine Videos foi..🤩 moch weiter so! Servas!

Und i pass mi gern on, deswegen versuach i grod den Tiroler dialekt zu lerna aber des dauert nu a bissal :,D Danke fia die netten Worte!

Des warad foi liab🤩…danke dir😁
hi Teo, what lab do you use to develop your films? I bought my first camera last month and am trying to find out where to have it developed best :) Cheers from Innsbruck
hey man im goingto buy my first film camera to shoot bodybuilding pictures like arnold in the 70s but i dont know what film is similar to that era you got an idea?
I’ve bought Himalaya films before, 2 rolls. I was unfortunate enough because both of them turned out to be very ugly. When I first loaded the film I noticed this fading out color on the edges. My pictures had these yellowish botch here and there, sometimes covering the whole frame

For anyone like me who was wondering, the song at 4:10 is 'Be The Cat' by Kylie Dailey...
This is my favorite series, glad you're continuing it!
My dream to live in that kind of place full of mountains and beautiful sceneries
Really loved the shots at 16:07 and 16:29 thank you so much for sharing this with us, your photos were a bright spot in my day!
Honestly, despite the lack of dynamic range this film stock is such a vibe! I'd definitely try this out!
that mail looked like an 18th century explorer recruiting crew for his next voyage to the unknown for the glory of his majesty

I love all your videos!! I would love to see a video from you showing how you plan out your shoots from start to finish!
I loved that you put a Brazilian song in the video. A lot of success for you!
honestly i just realized, your video look like the HIMALAYAN film tone dang!!!

the only time my German gcse was some what useful was i could understand 1 in ever 8 words you said.
Again awesome Video!
This film reminds me of cheap Kodak color around 1970. This would be an ideal location to bring out some Kodachrome 25 if they still made it. Oh well!
Hi Teo, Where did you get that paper map of Tiro? It looks beautiful!
Just found it at the local bookshop☺️
Could it be Fuji Eterna? Tends to lean into the greens as this seems to do.
keep it up teo
Lets go im early for once love your vids i just recently started film photography on my konika tc-x been loving it and your vids helped a lot in the enjoyment of that :D

Hey, Teo. I have a request. Do astrophotography please.
A film made for the mountains, eh? Definitely peaked my interest..

hi Teo, what lab do you use to develop your films? I bought my first camera last month and am trying to find out where to have it developed best :)
Cheers from Innsbruck
color grading tut pls 🥺
Let's GOO!
Hi Teo,
What lens/lenses do you use on your 35mm camera?
Thanks :)
hey man im goingto buy my first film camera to shoot bodybuilding pictures like arnold in the 70s but i dont know what film is similar to that era you got an idea?
You have a cool voice, man.
I think this is expired Kodak Vision2 200T. I tried a few rolls before, and they always have this red corner when there's not enough light.
I’ve bought Himalaya films before, 2 rolls. I was unfortunate enough because both of them turned out to be very ugly. When I first loaded the film I noticed this fading out color on the edges. My pictures had these yellowish botch here and there, sometimes covering the whole frame
To like this film you really need to embrace Wabi Sabi lol
What is the name of that hike?
never been this early before hell ya
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Woww Indonesia pride! hahahaa
Im thinking this film just looks really expired. Had some Kodak Supra 800 expired 40-50 years ago and it had the same "lo-fi"/shitty look.
Dam the cheap film finally got some spotlight
I'm taking a lot of inspiration from you, it feels like you would copyright my content someday.
