@@awesomeappleby5923 Probably worth keeping an eye out on the Moorespeed Racing website (the place I've ordered my bike from). They are actively producing a whole host of aftermarket parts for the bikes including a replacement speedo mounting bracket, to angle the clocks.. I would pick this over its rivals, the Royal Enfield 650 series. This is by far the most retro-looking modern motorcycle.. Love its engine looks.. Thanks Mark..
You are lucky man ! Even detail looks great and perfectly harmonizes with the other elements of the motorcycle. There are no items taken at random on the whim of an accountant.
I like the sound of the low-end torque. It is what you need. I like this bike better than the RE Interceptor. Sounds like a smooth engine with good town manners. I can't abide surging. Rare to find a bike with absolutely no surging, so I'd take this. I can imagine if BSA has finally got its act together that this bike will sell really well.
Needs a center stand. Bar end mirror option would be nice. Heated grips option as well. The radiator needs to be trimmed to the frame. Looks like an after thought. Hope they come to the U.S. I’d love to try one.
Roundhill campsite at 07:30, if I'm not mistaken. Spent many a week there over the years! As for the bike, will it dent Interceptor sales? Time will tell.
G'day Mark from Australia, l have been waiting for the release of the BSA 650 here in Australia the moment that happens my order is in, having owned a 1950s Gold Star l love the idea of the update model with more punch than the older 500cc, I think it's going to be pricey in Australia might put a few off, but if your into the classic look it's one of the best, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
I luv it, and I'm in the market. I'm 70 and I sold my Cbr 1100xx over a year ago and I'm missing riding. I had a Yamaha Car 650 back in '79 was so much fun! This looks a lot of easy fun too.
the sound of a thumping single ( which i have and love ) is i once read due to our tenure in the womb ! yeah really all you can hear is your mams ( im from Yorkshire) heartbeat ! we also love steam locos dont we thanks Mark a good review of a good bike 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿 i
Nice review Mark...as usual ....I am liking this bike more and more I especially like that black colour scheme I have to try one but I am seriously considering one !
“Just bought myself a new GS” I can see their faces now! 😂 Two things I remember about the BSA stand at the NEC last year were how well turned out these bikes looked - the colours and the style absolutely popped - and also, just how busy the stand was - totally rammed when we hustled through. Unfortunately, this type of bike wasn’t really on my radar at the time so I didn’t really study them in great detail but, as soon as I get a free Saturday, I’ll be nipping down to Dearden’s for a closer look - at this and their Guzzis 👍
Great review Mark and sounds like a bike that performs well at the speeds we ride at on the road. For me torque and not bhp is the route to riding nirvana so I would seriously look at this bike to add to my stable of 3. 👍
Great review, thank you. Personally, I think the finish on the engine casings looks poor, like grey plastic, and the use of stickers for the logo's is unforgiveable. Also, the way the rear light/number plate are mounted low down off the end of the mudguard looks a bit lame, they need to be higher up! Clocks are nice tho...
As usual, Mark, a succinct review. I love a single cylinder engine. The thump, the torque. My relaxed style of riding makes torque much more important to me than horsepower. I have an RE 500 classic and love it for it's sound and it's power band but not for it's vibrations, especially above 50 MPH. . I bought an RE interceptor 650 for it's smoothness and freeway capability but I prefer the 500's styling and character. What to do? This looks tempting to me. That hideous radiator, though.
Great review Mark. The new Gold Star sounds like a great bike. Modern, efficient with good performance and fuel economy, good steering and braking, it's obviously hard to criticise. Must check my money box next year...
Absolutely brilliant. What a looker of retro bike. There are some good ones coming out of India these days. Let's hope they can get the spares and dealerships set up to support this product as it sure looks like a winner 👍. I hope we see this one out here in Malaysia at some stage and without the exorbitant import tax on it. Nice review Mark
Great review, the best I've seen so far. The bike looks gorgeous in black which seems to make the large radiator less noticeable than with other colours. No centre stand ?
Another great review Mark, it was nice to see you today it's been a while. I think they have done a great job with the Gold Star certainly attract possible Interceptor buyers.
I much prefer the RE Interceptor, better looking, cheaper and also with a good support structure in place in the UK. It will be interesting to see how things go next year when production versions of the BSA start to become available in the UK. A leap of faith IMO to think of putting a deposit down on such a new venture. A pleasant review as usual Mark, thank you.
Come on Mark not a very balanced review is it you have basically given it a issue free ride completely egnoreing many of its short Cummings that have been well documented by other bloggers I realise you want to keep the doors open on the dealers you borrow from but for your reviews to have credibility it needs to be completly honest warts and all see the mindful motorcyclist for example !!!
I think you and the Missenden flyer are the 1st to review this bike i saw his video yesterday, I didn't comment on his video but they do seem a nice bike, though I know this bike doesn't need one, but a screen would be a good option. A great review as always Mark, see you on your next one 😀
Are the clocks upside down because they are selling lots in Australia? Nice to see proper mudguards for here in uk. Are you now thinking maybe this instead of hunter 350?? 🤔
Another great motorcycle review. If I was 10 years younger I would consider getting the new BSA. I still have my 2009 RE Classic and 2019 MASH 400 which I thoroughly enjoy riding . These bikes will see me out. Good job BSA well done
@@henry9406 Hi, Yes I'm emotionally attached to the RE as I have always wanted one since the 1970s. When the 2009 Classic came out I treated myself . I also don't put many miles on it. When I put it back in the garage after a ride, I give the bike a pat! How daft is that! Still the new BSA is a stunner.
Well excellent review Mark Glad you like the bike and was waiting for you’re review as per !! 😊 I did put a deposit down in August so I’m not worried now I’ve watched a couple of reviews especially yours Love the bike and style and due to test one soon Well done for a great review ! 😊😊😊😊
I would take that over anything R.E. is making. But the odds of it being available here in Canada are slim to none. I'd love to see a more scrambler style option, and maybe a bit more ground clearance.
First class review Mark, you always cover the important things for me. Well done on clock description, start at 1 o'clock, others seem to suggest they are reversed which isn't really the case. Planning on changing my Meteor 350 next year, a little too slow for me. Like this bike and the new RE 650 models comming out soon, it's going to be a difficult decision, any advice welcome.
Awesome review and I love this bike but unfortunately not available in Canada for now, hoping it’ll come in a near future. The image and sound quality when you ride is very good, what camera and mic are you using? Thanks for your good work👍
Good review, as always, thank you Mark. Regarding the bike, it’s intriguing. Positives appear to be the engine (though you didn’t mark it down a point for imperfect fuelling) and torque it produces, smooth and relaxed ride and decent brakes. Build quality could also be a trump card. Negatives for me appear to be its slightly porky, sounded no better than Enfield’s new Hunter 350, lacks a centre stand and rear grab rail (not a deal breaker) and unsure about the stying with that oh so prominent exhaust pipe. It’s not cheap but not expensive, either - hence why I say it’s an intriguing bike. If I were interested I’d want to know other information such as the dealer network, accessories and whether or not those spokes are stainless.
Just watched this again, Mark. Eagerly awaiting the Scrambler, not that I'll buy one. My Buell is going back on the road and will be my two-wheeler when I get back to England next spring. Nick J

Great review, looks a fantastic bike and very well priced. Haven't seen one on the road yet, wonder how many have sold? If only Royal Enfield had used similar clocks on the Super Meteor 👍
Every reviewer likes it - I like the looks and the style as well, but who is it marketed at? I am a returning rider, and purchased the RE650 INT as a first bike back after 33 years, and then an R1200RT for two up riding in my late 60's. So that is one target buyer, the other would be a male new rider that can cover some miles and can handle a heavier starter bike under 48HP A2 Compliant. Or is it also pitched at those with modern sports and classic bikes and can afford another modern retro-classic as well? :Perhaps yes. Well done to BSA new incarnation, they have done well!
Love it, possibly my next bike. Centre stand would have been nice. A super plus is the first valve clearance check on the Goldstar is at 24k service unlike the RE interceptor which is every 6k. Excellent review.
Is that the Bombardier Rotax 650 engine used on Aprilias and BMW they stuck belt drives on to make even more smooth those engines are smooth and reliable if they are.
are you sure ? there was more motorcycle manufactuers in the 1950's, Scott, Geaves, Francis Barnet, James, Royal Enfield, Vincent, Velocatte, Triumph, Panther, Rudge, A.J.S, Aerial, J.A.P. , Dougless, all English.... dont forget the Europeans.... BMW, MZ, Jawa, Ducatti, Zundap, Moto Guzzi, etc etc etc.... and lots more i havnt mentioned, dont forget all the American bike too....

Glad to see actual Brembo brakes instead of ByBre - ByBre brakes seem to be the main criticism of the RE bikes, i.e. not strong enough/wooden feel. I'm surprised no bike mfg offers more options in that regard, since car companies certainly do (i.e. nicer brakes in the Infiniti version of the Nissan 370x, etc.).

Hi yes roundhill :)
This looks a lot of easy fun too.
the sound of a thumping single ( which i have and love ) is i once read due to our tenure in the womb ! yeah really all you can hear is your mams ( im from Yorkshire) heartbeat ! we also love steam locos dont we thanks Mark a good review of a good bike 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

Many thanks 👍
The ideal tug for a Watsonian Chair. Just perfect.
Nice review Mark...as usual ....I am liking this bike more and more I especially like that black colour scheme I have to try one but I am seriously considering one !
Great video. I like your style of reviews!
Actually, it is an advertisement for a bike that has only a marginal relationship with the immortal DBD 34.
Great review on BSA Goldstar, looks a lovely machine and tempted to go see one after watching the review.
Beautiful. I was just about to watch a review on this beauty, and then yours got served up!
Nice touch the speedo accuracy dude as always informative and interesting 👍🏻
Many thanks 👍
“Just bought myself a new GS” I can see their faces now! 😂
Two things I remember about the BSA stand at the NEC last year were how well turned out these bikes looked - the colours and the style absolutely popped - and also, just how busy the stand was - totally rammed when we hustled through. Unfortunately, this type of bike wasn’t really on my radar at the time so I didn’t really study them in great detail but, as soon as I get a free Saturday, I’ll be nipping down to Dearden’s for a closer look - at this and their Guzzis 👍
Great stuff Mark! I’ve got no idea if these BSAs will come to Australia & when. It looks great, but I do still prefer the RE. Thanks Mark🙌
Great review Mark and sounds like a bike that performs well at the speeds we ride at on the road. For me torque and not bhp is the route to riding nirvana so I would seriously look at this bike to add to my stable of 3. 👍
Cheers Michael
If you like torque, try a 1250 Bandit.
@@4418CARLOU you’re right there, a brilliant bike!
Hi Steven yes should have been air cooled everyone is saying this
Cheers mark
That big water cooled single makes it so smooth and quiet great for all day ride and comfy seat brilliant.
Many thanks razif
Razif, mmg x akan masuk Msia sebab kita lebih kpd motor jepun dan byk model yg ada di US dan Eropah x masuk Msia
I liked the uplifting and inspiring introduction music....I think I'll go out and buy a BSA.
Nice in depth review, very thorough, well done. Did you melt your boot on the exhaust a bit?
Not me ... someone before did
Really like the idea of the Scrambler version, looks ideally suited to the engine. Another great review, thank you.
yes a scrambler version would be great ...maybe in time ?
@@markpulling12 BSA said it was coming
Great review, the best I've seen so far. The bike looks gorgeous in black which seems to make the large radiator less noticeable than with other colours. No centre stand ?
Hi many thanks ..no centre stand sadly
Another great review Mark, it was nice to see you today it's been a while. I think they have done a great job with the Gold Star certainly attract possible Interceptor buyers.
Hi Manny yes great to see you too
Yes for sure a lot of potential interceptor owners will be looking at these see you soon
You love this bike...i had 3 rocken greetings from switzerland
Thanks
Great review Mark. The third I’ve seen on this bike & the best. Lovely in black too.
Many thanks 👍
Such a lovely looking bike, thanks mark for another great review..
Thanks Keith yes time will tell give it a year or so cheers mark
How cheap is Interceptor price vice?
Valve clearance every 6000 miles on the Interceptor vs 24000 on the BSA.
I believe the engine has previously been used in KTMs in a slightly different guise so the engine should be a known quantity reliability wise.
Thanks rich yes I saw TMF did his yesterday ☺️
The All Year Motorcyclist did the first review.
@@racheltaylor6578 really? I'm obviously not subbed, so I saw the 1st review on another channel lol.
Great review as always Mark. When do you reckon you'll get your hands on a hornet??
Hi David ...I've asked honda UK probably won't be till early spring unless crescent get one on demo sooner ... cheers mark
Are the clocks upside down because they are selling lots in Australia? Nice to see proper mudguards for here in uk. Are you now thinking maybe this instead of hunter 350?? 🤔
I've bought the hunter see my review 😁 best wishes mark
Is it here in aus? I wish
Another great motorcycle review. If I was 10 years younger I would consider getting the new BSA. I still have my 2009 RE Classic and 2019 MASH 400 which I thoroughly enjoy riding . These bikes will see me out. Good job BSA well done
I felt a tinge sad when you said "These bikes will see me out." I hope at the very least you will test ride the new BSA.
I was thinking the same , I’m lucky if I put a thousand miles a year on my RE with my health problems but I can’t bring myself to sell it 🍻
@@neosmith166 Apologies. I didn't intend to make anyone sad. Once you get to around 70 years every day is a bonus
@@algyhowells936 I pray you have a happy healthy life and you can fulfill your wishes everyday.
GREAT review Mark.
NO bull Krapp !!!
You tell it as it is.
I hope it comes to 'OZ'. (Australia) (maybe 12-15 months???)
WELL done.
Thanks Terry 😊
Well excellent review Mark
Glad you like the bike and was waiting for you’re review as per !! 😊
I did put a deposit down in August so I’m not worried now I’ve watched a couple of reviews especially yours
Love the bike and style and due to test one soon
Well done for a great review ! 😊😊😊😊
Great choice and you are going to absolutely love it ❤️
Hi Mark, great review as always brother. Do you know when, or if, these will be coming to the USA?
Hi mark ....all I have read is that BSA will bring the gold star to the USA sometime in 2023 ...?
Keep a check out
Best wishes mark
I would take that over anything R.E. is making. But the odds of it being available here in Canada are slim to none.
I'd love to see a more scrambler style option, and maybe a bit more ground clearance.
I think your King, Justin the Moron, may disapprove.
Hi Mark
As always top review
I'm 35 years old and I honestly think I'd rather be thumping around a back lane on this over a 200bhp killing machine
Definitely christopher I think this is the way motorcycling is going now ...hence my hunter 350 purchase :)
Hi Trevor...wow tough choice meteor 650 maybe but I can highly recommend the bsa
Best wishes mark
Great review, 3rd one I’ve seen and so far all are very positive about the bike. I would love to hear it with the baffle removed.
Awesome review and I love this bike but unfortunately not available in Canada for now, hoping it’ll come in a near future. The image and sound quality when you ride is very good, what camera and mic are you using? Thanks for your good work👍
Hi Marc many thanks
GoPro 7 and purple 🟣 panda mic
Best wishes mark
Nice review Mark! was that a rust spot on the exhaust?
No someone's boot 🥾 had melted 😂
Hi I did mark it down a point on snatchy throttle on the review but maybe that's what you meant lol
@@markpulling12 oops!
Just watched this again, Mark. Eagerly awaiting the Scrambler, not that I'll buy one. My Buell is going back on the road and will be my two-wheeler when I get back to England next spring. Nick J
Hi nick....I like the buell bikes ...you back to the UK permanently or just a few months?
@@markpulling12 I have been hit with double taxation as the grasping Portuguese state are taxing income I already pay UK tax on, so I'm selling there next April and riding back to Yorkshire on my Can-Am having couriered my XB12X back before I set off. Another good review Mark, have you seen or tested the Mash 650 classic? another Brit style retro bike.
Hi I Robert yes I've seen those but not reviewed one ...I actually sent them an email the other day to review some of their bikes ... I'll chase it up
Many thanks 👍
Great review on a stunning bike all colours are stunning but the red is my favourite, prices are great too BUT no dealers in Aberdeen YET
This vid quite good.austraian style roads, excellent for testing all facets of a new bike.nice!
Love it, possibly my next bike. Centre stand would have been nice. A super plus is the first valve clearance check on the Goldstar is at 24k service unlike the RE interceptor which is every 6k. Excellent review.
Many thanks Michael yes the valves are shim adjustment rather than screw and locknut on the Interceptor
Best wishes mark
If it's reliable and the dealer network is upto scratch then I think they're onto a winner. Good review.
Great review mark,it looks amazing ,nice to see them back again.
Thanks james ...its got a lovely engine :)
Hi Mark a lovely looking bike but as heavy as my gsxs1000f at 213kgs!!! and what's going on with the front wheel spindle?
Love to see this come out as a scrambler
2:22 was that rust on the exhaust ? Near the front foot rest
No someone's melted boot 🥾🤣
A saw on another channel that the valve clearance doesn’t need to be checked until 24,000 miles. That’s a plus.
That's very good :)
Must be shims rather than locknut adjustment
Is that the Bombardier Rotax 650 engine used on Aprilias and BMW they stuck belt drives on to make even more smooth those engines are smooth and reliable if they are.
Great review video of the BSA Mark did you burn your trousers or boot on the exhaust seen black mark on it
Not me ....must of been someone before:)
I notice that the exhaust has picked up plastic from riders boots. This was mentioned on another review. Maybe a small heat shield is needed there.
Oh mate, !! love it - gonna find me one to try. Many thanks for the info.
Great review Mark. The bike definitely looks very desirable, love it.thank you.
Great review Mark! In the 1950's there wasn't much choice of manufacturers like we have now which explains why BSA had 25% share👍
Oh ok thanks David
are you sure ? there was more motorcycle manufactuers in the 1950's, Scott, Geaves, Francis Barnet, James, Royal Enfield, Vincent, Velocatte, Triumph, Panther, Rudge, A.J.S, Aerial, J.A.P. , Dougless, all English.... dont forget the Europeans.... BMW, MZ, Jawa, Ducatti, Zundap, Moto Guzzi, etc etc etc.... and lots more i havnt mentioned, dont forget all the American bike too....

Thanks for the review..
Glad to see actual Brembo brakes instead of ByBre - ByBre brakes seem to be the main criticism of the RE bikes, i.e. not strong enough/wooden feel. I'm surprised no bike mfg offers more options in that regard, since car companies certainly do (i.e. nicer brakes in the Infiniti version of the Nissan 370x, etc.).
many thanks ...cold out today though !!
Honestly, unless you're riding really hard or tracking it you won't notice the difference. For the average person it doesn't matter
