I’m loving all the Astro praise. You sold me on the Tonex with your honesty and I will be getting the Astro for the same reason! I also appreciate your honesty regarding soloing and theory! It makes me more confident in my own playing because, though I’d love to know all the scales and theory and whatnot, I really love just playing what’s in my head!
Thanks for commenting! You'll love the Astro. I'm so glad you found the information regarding playing solo's helpful. That's literally what I do, write what I hear in my head and fish around for some good riffs and make up my own patterns and it seems to be working just fine. Go for it, and have fun!
Gotta tell ya Jarrod. You really made my day today when yo went into your story of how you don't know music or scales or anything at all. I am the exact same way. When I was very young, I took guitar lessons for maybe 2 weeks. It was terrible and the instructor was a tyrant about how I sat, how I held my pic and yadda yadda yadda. I used to read Circus and Hit Parade and Kerrang magazine and one day, I saw one of those 1 pager ads with Billy Gibbons holding his trusty Les Paul. In the ad, he was saying that he never took lessons, he just taught himself to play what he hears in his head. I never took another lesson and it really inspires me to know you are the same and your playing is off the charts AMAZING. Thanks for saying what you said. Made my day 🙂

Speaking of cabs to pair with the stealth, I’d been playing out of v30 loaded mesa like you for the longest. But Jarrod I’m telling you get your hands on a Hesu cab with the demon speakers and pair the two when I referenced getting the most modern high gain tones out of that amp i never knew I could tap into, I paired my 50w stealth with a Hesu 2x12 vertical slant cab with they’re demon speakers and it changed the game. Merely throwing those speakers into a cab of choice doesn’t do them justice. The Hesu cabs are some of the most well built cabs I’ve ever owned (better quality than ENGL, Orange, and Mesa imo) but the cabs are built specifically to bring out the most of those speakers and the pairing blew my ENGL 4x12 and Mesa Recto 2x12 out of the water. Brought a whole new spectrum of articulation, punch and chug to the amp I thought I had been getting the most out of from the other cabs. HIGHLY suggest you getting one. They’re not insanely priced either. I had mine shipped from Europe brand new in total I payed less than $800 which is what an orange 2x12 costs by itself here in the states by comparison.
And I know it’s a bit pricey $229 new, but the Fortin modded ts-9 also really compliments the amp extremely well. My other favorite is the KHDK Ghoul Screamer jr. Same output everything as the regular ghoul Screamer just cut down to the two main essential toggles voicing for bass +\- and style for compression and amount of gain on tap while also adding some additional harmonics and cut thru

Hello, thanks for the video friend, i´m considering about buy the Soldano Astro 20 (i need lighter equipment for pain in back after charging in concerts), but i´m not sure, i would like ask you please some doubts, 1. Are you using a real cabinet in your videos with Astro 20? because your sound is good but other youtubers sound me digital with same head, 2. i don´t understand at all the use of Ir´s with Astro 20 using a real cabinet, the people use IR´s when they use a FRFR, so it only could be useful if you go to the concert without the cabinet for listen you by PA or in ears , isn´t it? , 3. do you think that the sound is like a valve amp? (listening a video our perception can not be as good like you that you can listen in person)
Thanks for commenting. Most of the time when I'm playing through the Astro on my channel, I'm using a real cab and real microphones. I think that the impulse responses that it comes with are good but there's always this digital kind of thing to them and there's really not much you can do about that. Again, I think they sound really good but nothing beats a real cab
@@TONEWARSgearshow thanks again, sorry about i ask you for help , but i´m lost, I continued listening videos, and it looks like when they connect Astro 20 by line (with IR´s simulation) it sound better to me than when they play direct to a real cabinet, it´s my personal perception, anyway your sound is very good friend, but i´m thinking too much what to do, if buy it or if I could buy other light amp better because i´m going to use a real cabinet, if you could advise me please, (i can not try it in shop in my city), my current amp is a triple rectifier head but it´s too much weighty for me(i need a head with enough chanels, high gain, 25 libs or less, and versatile for pop rock, rock, hard rock, heavy metal, with real cabinet)

The tube channel on the Archetype is absolutely incredible as well and it gets closer to the stealth in the amount of gain , but it's really really noisy. The Archetype really shines for shredders who have advanced picking skills, guys that flawlessly execute Paul Gilbert/ Rusty Cooley/ Nuno Bettencourt licks will love the V2 Archetype. So will guys that play super extreme technical rhythm guitar. The amp is really dry and incredibly clear it will showcase every flaw in your playing. I found that you really do need to have the matching Archetype 4 ohm cabinet with the Celestion 100 watt G12H speakers to get the most out of that amp though. The amp is designed to operate at 4 ohms because of the way the power ramp reacts with the speaker and cabinet at the 4 ohm load. You will not get the tightness and clarity of sound that the amp was designed to produce running at 8 ohm cabinet. It will sound more like the normal Randall V2... Which is still really great but just not as good as the Archetype. And let's be clear the V2 puts out 400 Watts at 4 ohms it will blow speakers like no other if you hook it up to a cabinet that's not rated for that power.

Please, I need a light amp and i considering the Astro 20, i would like ask you how it sound with a real band and a real passive cabinet?, it sound me digital in some videos, do you think that it sound enough real, do you advise me buy this Astro 20 head, or i must consider Mesa Mark 25 and H&K tubemeister 40, thanks in advance
@@jjr.m.1002 It is a good sounding amp and will work fine. My only issue is the clean channel only has one knob that manages both the treble and middle eq.
@@davidglobex189 thank you very much for your answer friend, i use the clean only in a few songs, my current head is a triple rectifier, so...i`m having too much problem finding some versatile light for replace it, mesa boogies 25w only 2 chanels , and i´m worried about this Soldano sound a little digital using it with real cabinet(because the IR´s), ...and none of them have a button in the footswith for on/off the loop (only the cheap marshall DSL20), it is some strange, you must have all the sound passing around 2 long cables inside the loop (Send/return) for use in the floor your delay, (the youtubers have it above the amp with short cables, but it´s not the reality, or they record the audio in studio by line with IR, not this nice video of course 🙂)
im suprised jeff keisel hasnt sent a guitar to machine gun kelly! he sends guitars to every flavor of the month guitar player! or so called guitar player!
Haha now THAT would be hilarious 😆
Don't feel bad my man, I've been noodling around for about 20 years but never have had the time or the want to sit down and learn any sort of theory at all. Not everyone has the time it takes to learn all that, for me I'm sure it's held me back alot in advancing, that's why I'm just a lowly rhythm player lol. But I still love to play whether I know how to correctly or not
Thanks for commenting. Honestly, I think that theory and the "rules" associated with it would hold me back a bit. I love being creative and trying things without worrying about the rules
Stealth absolutely rules over the Astro in my opinion...
