Thank you so much. Really enjoyed it. My favourite decade ever, growing up in the 70's was brilliant. Never felt more let down than anyone in my life than by GG. I still enjoy listening to his songs and seeing John Rossalls Glitterband. Always feel why should he let me ruin the enjoyment of listening to his music?
Agreed, I still have all of the records released by GG and the Glitter band. I felt sorry for them when the shit hit the fan, glam rock will never be repeated.
I was born in Dec '61 so I loved being a teenager in the mid to late 70's. Also love all the 60's music I grew up with. The best thing now is that I have seen in the past few years Peter Frampton, Suzi Q, Neil Diamond, Eagles, America and others and they still sound fabulous. I waited 30 years to see Rodger Hodgeson (the voice of Supertramp) and that concert would be my groundhog day if I could pick one. Just wish I had the same energy .

As an American, this was so much fun to watch! Some of these songs were also #1 in America, others were good songs but not nearly as popular here, and others I never heard even once! You might find it hard to believe Slade was a complete mystery to me, T-Rex had only one USA hit ("Get it on"), Gilbert O'Sullivan had a huge hit with "Alone Again (Naturally)" which didn't even hit #1 here (while the two #1's here barely made a dent in America) ... both the similarities & differences were fascinating! I can't wait to watch Part 2. Thanks so much for putting this together!
You missed the ball, what a shame. Big is not always better especially where live music is concerned. Watching a band play live from the other side of some gigantic arena is no fun. But a small intimate venue at unbelievable volume levels, well that's something to behold. 'Slade' live at the 'Lyceum Theater England' 1980 'Till Deaf Do Us Part' Tour. For me, the fun started with Mungo Jerry and Marc Bolan followed closely by Slade and The Sweet, what a brilliant start to the decade. I still listen to this music today.
The song was recorded in 1968, and was re-released as a single after Hendrix's death in 1970. It was the A side on a three-track record, and reached Number 1 in the UK. It was catalogued as "'Voodoo Child" (Slight Return), and that is the title which appears on the single and is the title referred to officially. The term "slight return" refers to the song's initial role as a reprise of the 15-minute track "Voodoo Chile" featured earlier on the album Electric Ladyland. Thanks for the comment!

Listening to this trying to find a song my daddy used to say he loved, he said this guy was the coolest thing ever to happen. I remember watching him on TOTP2 and he was wearing a sheepskin coat and sitting on a stool. Can anyone help? My dad passed away recently and I’m desperate to find this xxx
Any details about the song and music itself?
